Very early in the morning before the sun had risen, it being still mostly dark. Kairi packs for their trip to the spirit world as Kura helps and Yami had gone out to collect a little more dark energy for himself. Jennifer is awake for a change as she talks with Shizen about the nature spirits she rules over and Zahir with the remaining handful of poison spirits and what they are like when not in hiding. Chazz, Hiki and Tori get packed as well and figure out a battle plan if things lead to that and Hiki gathers the energy needed to make the gate. Yami comes back to Kairi’s room as they finish packing and take hooded cloaks with them. Kura and Yami wearing black with red on the borders and Kairi pink with black on the borders as they leave Kairi’s room. Kairi and Kura carrying a shoulder bag with supplies and enter Jennifer’s room, her and Shizen wearing cloaks to but green as Jennifer give Kairi rules for staying close. Chazz, Hiki and Tori stand outside with cloaks as well but black and white with these circle lines at the bottom and near the middle as Hiki readies the gate to the nature section of their world.
Hiki: (Chants being a little less skilled to make a gate without one just yet). From all beginnings there were trees and nature in life. Now let us return to the realm of forests. Spirit gate open! (A white and green gate with designs of a giant seal appears in front of them. All of them notice Chazz, Hiki and Tori are outside and hop out seeing the glowing gate).
Kairi: (Looks fascinated). Woah cool.
Shizen: I could have handled the gate if you wanted me to but thank you for saving me the trouble.
Hiki: (Giggles). I thought I would get it done faster sorry, sorry.
Shizen: Well either way works, plus it is good practice for you.
Jennifer: Are we ready Kairi, Kura and I had brought supplies, so I think we have enough for a few days at least.
Kura: Yes, unless Yami becomes hungry and eats all of the food.
Yami: (Stands there grumpily with his arms crossed). Hey!
Chazz: (Stands by the gate ready to go as Tori stands next to Kairi and Hiki just talks with everyone excitedly).
Kairi: (Smiles brightly and hugs Tori). Wow I cannot wait to see what it’s like in your world… Or the nature area of it I mean. I cannot wait!
Jennifer: (Smiles slightly as everyone else walks towards the gate).
Chazz: (Opening the gate there is a gust of wind and leaves blowing past them with the gust from the gate).
Shizen: (Looks at the group of young ones with concern). Are you sure about this?
Jennifer: Of course, I am worried about them to. I may not know them, but no one should go through anything like that.
Hiki: (Pulls on Shizen as she smiles brightly). Let’s go meet your family now. All of them and check up on our cousins.
Shizen: You have a cousin in the nature city? And you could say I am related to all nature spirits since I am the first and watching all of them grow makes me very proud. (Smiles proudly).
Jennifer: Well, I cannot wait.
Shizen: Yes, but I don’t know how much has changed so let’s stay hidden for now.
Tori: Well, let’s find out.
Jennifer: Yes, but be sure to stay together.
Yami: Quit talking, let’s just go already! (Runs into the gate).
Kura: (Runs in after Yami). Yami wait!
Kairi: Wait up! (Runs after Kura and Yami).
Jennifer: so much for that (sighs but run in after them).
Shizen: (Look at Chazz, Hiki and Tori and smiles with a nod). Thank you. (Walks in after Jennifer).
Hiki and Tori: (Smiles back as Chazz waves).
Chazz: Well, let us get going Hiki, Tori we have a spirit to find and a world for you to return too.
Hiki and Tori: Yes master. (A sudden gust of wind goes against their cloaks flying up with swords on the ready and they walk in).
All of them go through the portal and find themselves at a city covered in trees and greenery with animals of all kinds that turn into people as they go about their daily lives. Even the stores and buildings are made of plant life and trees, and some covered in different kinds of flowers and even the paths covered in different kinds of grass for each road depending on its size and how close it is to the center of the great tree city.
Jennifer and Kairi: (Both look at their surroundings in awe). Woah… It’s amazing….
Shizen: (Stretches out her arms as she takes in a deep breath). Ahh it’s good to be home.
Kura: (Looks around being interested in the new environment).
Yami: (Shrugs). Guess it’s a pretty cool city. Haven’t been to this one yet.
Chazz: (Looks straight ahead at the giant tree as Hiki and Tori look around being amazed).
Hiki: Woah I never have been in the nature city’s before, it looks so pretty.
Tori: It’s been a while for me.
Shizen: It has, hasn’t it? (As they all put their cloak hoods up).
Jennifer: It is so big, where do we even begin.
Kairi: It is so pretty; I wonder what the shops sell.
Shizen: It’s similar to store in the human world. Our trade is usually medicines, food, and things of that sort. Anything that can be grown since that is our power.
Kairi: Woah….
Jennifer: (She stands beside Chazz). Wow it is pretty amazing, isn’t it?
Chazz: Yes indeed, it will definitely prove to be hard to find one person in this city for sure.
Jennifer: Yes, it will.
Kairi: Can we go shopping though. I want to see everything!
Chazz: Kairi we have to make sure Shizen’s family is safe now, have you forgotten? Shizen where do you think we should start?
Shizen: They are all my family though some more well off than others. Hmm I think I remember the spirits looking for refuge in the poorer side of the city which is more underground. There are probably spirits that… Probably have done bad things, it’s a lot less peaceful to be sure.
Chazz: We can more than likely handle ourselves. We just have to be subtle about it.
Jennifer: Kairi stay close and do not talk to anyone.
Yami: Don’t worry, anyone who messes with her I’ll beat them.
Kura: (Sighs shaking her head). When together on the street he joined any fights that started… Please don’t do that.
Yami: Hey I won those fights and oh come on no fun then.
Tori: We are not here for fun.
Yami: … Fine. (Pouts grumpily).
Shizen: Follow me, there are a few entrances underground. Once there it is a little dark but there are streetlights. (Everyone follows her as she keeps her face in the shadows and watches people walk by and knowing most smiling that they are well).
Chazz, Hiki and Tori: (Stay close but keep a small distance since we are getting strange looks from time to time).
Shizen: (Stops in her tracks seeing fire guards up ahead and narrows her eyes as her fist clenched and begins to look angry). Why are their fire guards in my city?
Jennifer: Fire guards?
Shizen: They have no right to be here.
Chazz: Well, starting a fight with them will not help with anything. Let us just try to lay low and collect information.
Shizen: … Fine but if they do anything I am kicking them out myself.
Jennifer: Let us keep going though for now.
Shizen: Fine let’s take another path. (Changes directions and reaches the entrance of a tunnel leading down and walks to a nature spirit guard and starts to talk to him. She then pulls away her hood for a moment as the nature guards eyes widen then kneels before her. She quickly makes him stand and placing a finger to her lips to stay quiet. He tells her all he knows and nods and walks back to them).
Hiki: So, what is going on.
Shizen: (with gritted teeth and clenched fists in anger she holds back she replies). Apparently council member Angi told the council my people need help without me to protect them. They can defend themselves without me watching over them and Angi only cares about his precious power so I am not buying it (All can tell there is anger in her voice).
Hiki: But his powers are sealed away so he can’t do much if his position is taken, then he has nothing to fit his desires.
Shizen: (Sighs as she looks downwards). I suppose but I still do not like it. Something is off and I could never tell what his goals are at the end.
Jennifer: Let us keep going though, there is not much we can do about that at this point.
Shizen: I suppose child… Follow me, the entrance is this way.
As they walk the guard bows slightly to Shizen and nods to them. Jennifer nods back to him with a smile as everyone follows but since they are a bit distant the guard is cautious. The entrance is like a giant hollow in a tree stump to create a doorway with leaves wrapping around to cover the area around it with some orange and brown mushrooms in the shaded areas.
As they walk down the tunnel it starts to get darker, seeing not as many people but some that they pass looking shady. Jennifer grabs Kairi’s hand to keep her close. The walls of the tunnel looking like it’s made of big roots with very little sunlight shining through the cracks. The buildings look like giant mushrooms with big spores in the air and on lamps that glow giving the streets a bit more light. Kura and Yami look around but are on guard and everyone look around since they are not too sure where to look besides what’s in front of them.
Shizen: (Pauses to listen closely up ahead hearing some commotion). I here yelling up ahead.
Kairi: What is going on?
Jennifer: I am not sure. Stay close I do not like this. (Continue to walk forward to see what is going on seeing a bit further ahead crowd of people in front of what looks like a bar but still a block or two away, so it is hard to tell what is really going on).
Chazz: I think we found our information sources.
Jennifer: (Clutches onto Kairi tighter and more protective). Still Kairi stay close to me.
Unknown spirit: (Places a hand on Kura’s shoulder and goes uncomfortably close to her in his approach). Hey, you’re kind of pretty-.
Kura: (Before he can say more, she punches him in the face and is out cold seeming to have experience dealing with these types of situations). Not interested.
Hiki: (The same thing happens to her, but she kicks the man in a critical place as she clings to Chazz and Tori stands in the back to handle any others to approach).
Jennifer: Just like in the alleys in our town… It may be vastly different appearance wise but a city flaw, nonetheless. (Looks very annoyed as vines come up and grab the others bothering them and knock them out with a sigh). Let’s keep going, I cannot stand people like that.
Yami: Not even a challenge to fight, where’s the fun in that.
Tori: (Sighs). What was lying low again?
Yami: (Pouts grumpily). Not having fun.
Kura: (Sighs as well). Now do you see what I had to deal with.
Yami: Hey!
Tori (Sighs again and nods). I guess I do. (They get closer and see the crowd in front of the bar yelling and fighting. They are shouting about wanting to fight a man inside who is fighting and some ending up fighting each other because of the commotion. They are not able to get or see inside).
Jennifer: This is interesting.
Shizen: It seems like this bar fight has gotten a little out of hand.
Chazz: Well, it is a bar fight, I think it usually would, but someone here should know where our target is.
Yami: Screw it I’m joining! (Runs in and start to fist fight his way in).
Kairi: Yami!
Kura: (Sighs with a facepalm). Idiot.
Jennifer: He is going to get himself killed….
Kura: No, you would be surprised he can give and take a beating but still is an idiot.
Tori: (Sighs). I’m going in too then. (Runs in after Yami).
Hiki: Tori you better not get knocked out!
Yami: (Fights his way through the crowd and one guy turns asking why a little kid is here then back by it. He gets mad and knocks the guy out in one punch as he makes his way through slowly while fighting). I’m not little!
Tori: (Catches up as well punching people as he gets more into the center).
Yami: (Sees Tori but then continues to fight with a grin on his face as he enjoys himself). Having fun, I bet I can knock out more than you. I’m gonna go ahead and get in the bar and see what all the fuss is about. (Pushes further into the crowd as he fights reaching the doorway).
Tori: Yes, yes always a contest with you now. (Does the same as Yami).
Yami: (Laughs as he pushes through and sees a handful of men rush at one guy wearing worn purple clothes and a hooded cloak with black hair and purple eyes. Yami stumbles a little the crowd not as much as there as inside and gives a confused look). Only one guy everyone’s fighting?
?????: (The man punches everyone but only really aiming for one person in the bar).
Yami: (Shrugs and joins the fight punching one of the guys and knocking him out and another yelling why a little kid is there. He gets angry again punching and knocking him out as well). I said don’t call me little!
?????: (The man goes around Yami like he is avoiding him).
Tori: (Gets into the bar as well but then is shocked). … Wait what.
Yami: No idea why you’re fighting dude but you’re pretty good to take on this many guys. Mind if I join the fight? (As he blocks and punches another guy with a grin).
?????: (Dashes out and chases a guy in back as he leaves Tori and Yami to handle the middle)
Yami: (As he continues to fight but gives a confused look). What was that all about? Should we go after him?
Tori: (Manages to knock out enough to make a path for both him and Yami to get out of the fight).
Yami: (Pushes out as well seeing the man and runs over to him seeing him yell at another he was pursuing and fighting who is on the ground looking scared up at the other man in purple).
?????: (Picks up the one he was chasing throws him into a nearby tree as it seems he got what he wanted from him).
Yami: Hey dude need some help or something, seem kind a mad. (Places his hand on the man’s shoulder with the man’s back is turned to him).
?????: (Pulls Yami’s arm and throws him in front of him as he is startled and starts to run into the deeper sections of the underground from the back entrance of the bar).
Yami: (Grabs his head as he stands being a little dazed but snaps out of it). Hey! (Chases after the man being mad and annoyed).
?????: (Disappears into purple mist).
Yami: What the…? (Pauses and thinks to himself). Let’s see if I lived on the streets where would I hide… Oh wait I did. (Runs into a small dark alley and looks around cautiously. He can see fine since he’s of dark element but then a purple mist is spread throughout the alley as he tries to see his way through the mist feeling the wall as he walks being alert). Hey you here? Not looking for trouble… I think. (A staff sword appears near Yami’s neck as the man is coming back to full body behind him. Yami instinctively puts his hand on his knife in its sheath but then thinks and doesn’t as he calms his breathing putting his hands up slowly to show he doesn’t have a weapon in his hands). Umm… Sup… Umm. (Is not sure of what to say as he takes a breath).
?????: Why you follow me?
Yami: Well, you’re the one who threw me and ran off, so I followed….
?????: Well then why are you in a cloak and not taking your weapons out.
Yami: Well, you have a blade to my neck so should be obvious. I’m with a group looking for some guy…. What was his name again, damn I need to pay attention more?
?????: (The knife gets closer). Looking for who now?
Yami: Look dude I don’t remember his name. I just know that one of our groups is looking for him. (He looks up, so the knife is a little further away but doesn’t work as he takes breaths to calm down).
?????: (Sighs). Fine but don’t tell your group about me alright. I’m out of here. (Disappears into mist).
Yami: Hey wait umm maybe you can help us out, umm what was his name damit started with maybe Z, I think umm. Dammit what was it. (The mist has gone away from him as he tries to remember the name).
Tori: (Finally catches up to Yami). Yami what happened to you? I couldn’t find you anywhere.
Yami: Dammit he’s gone oh umm I followed that one guy, but he wasn’t that helpful. What was the name of the guy we were looking for again?
Tori: Zahir you idiot.
Yami: Oh right, I knew it was something with a Z.
Jennifer: (Heard in the distance). Yami, Tori where’d did you guys go! The fight cleared out so where are you guys!
Kura: (Is also heard in a stricter tone). Yami get over here!
Tori: (Drags Yami out into the streets). Ohh we are over here.
Yami: (As they run over, he looks back at the ally wondering who that guy was).
Kairi: Are you alright? (Hugs both Tori and Yami instantly).
Chazz: What happened?
Kura: (Walks over and knocks Yami in the head). That’s for running off.
Yami: Ow hey not cool!
Tori: I’m not sure. Yami was chasing this one guy who seemed to be in the middle of the bar fight. I lost sight of Yami until a couple of minutes ago.
Shizen: Hmm Yami can you tell us what happened.
Yami: Well, I ran after him but then he disappeared into this mist. I ran in and he got behind me holding a blade to my throat and asked why I followed. I’m not sure why I did but I told him we were looking for some guy and he asked why but I forgot the name of the guy, so he left and told me to not mention I saw him.
Hiki: (Gives a confused look). What type of mist and blade?
Yami: I think some sort of staff sword and I don’t know it was like this purple mist.
Shizen: (The purple mist perks her interest most of all as she thinks to herself). Purple hmm very interesting.
Chazz: Well, let us keep walking around and see if we can find this purple mist man.
Kura: (With less strictness and more concern she kneels to check Yami for injuries). Yami are you sure he didn’t hurt you.
Yami: Yeah, yeah, I’m fine.
Shizen: Very well, I have a few people I can trust further in this area that have been taking care of the city and spirits seeking refuge in this area so let’s start by going there
Everyone agrees with Shizen as they continue walking further in as they watch being on guard.
Shizen: (After a little bit she stops at a small house that is made of what looks like a giant hollow mushroom and knocks. The mushroom unlike others has some wildflowers decorating and reaching up the sides of it oddly with a purple lilac on the door). This is the place they hid last in this city before sneaking out if I remember correctly. Stay back a little just in case.
Jennifer: Be careful. (Stands back with everyone else but not to far).
????: (A tall and thin young woman answers the door with her brown curled hair in a ponytail and a pink flower in her hair and pink carnation-colored lips and borders of her simple common dress. Her green eyes pear out carefully to whoever the hooded people are at her door). Huh hello is there something you need?
Shizen: Hello Hana it’s me. I’m here to check on how things are since I left. (Pulls back her hood).
Hana: (Her eyes widen in shock but then gets a big cheery smile). Shizen your back! (Hugs Shizen tightly as she smiles). Please, please come in and your friends are welcome to. It’s not safe out in the open like this.
Shizen: Thank you. (Nods to everyone to follow her in and all walk in while Chazz stands by the windows inside to keep track of movement outside since there are fire spirits heavily armed as they seem to patrol).
Shizen: Hello, it’s been a while. I don’t have long but I would like to know what is happening and about the poison’s spirits situation.
Hana: (She still has a cheery and colorful way in her personality as she nods her greeting to the rest of Shizen’s group seeming to trust them knowing they are with Shizen now). Yes, and to your group most call me Hana and I am the one trying to keep them in hiding. I sneak supplies out to them, but it has gotten harder since the fire spirits have come here. (Looks down with a bit of sadness).
Hiki: Does anyone have a clearer reason why they are here? (As she undoes her hood and shows off her two-colored hair).
Hana: I’m not to sure either but the council has not said much to that. We were only told that it was for our own protection, but it seems that the ones they have sent are expected to have law over us because of nature’s weakness. That is all the information I have heard of the gang out there out there, but nature will be grateful to finally have your leadership back Shizen to make things right again… We missed you. (Makes a plant grow from the ground into her hand and two carnation flowers grow from it one white Petunia and one black Dahlia as she picks them and puts them in Hiki’s hair).
Hiki: (Admires the flowers). Thank you, Hana.
Hana: Of course, oh and I did not get your names.
Shizen: As you know I became contracted to hide better from those types of hunters… Which I expect that is what some out there are… Just playing the part of a guard to justify it… And this is Jennifer who is the human I’m contacted to.
Hana: (Looks surprised). And you can control Shizen’s power? Most who try either go insane or die.
Jennifer: … That does not exactly make me feel better.
Shizen: This child is capable of it though. She is very strong indeed.
Hana: It’s nice to meet you.
Jennifer: (Bows politely). To you as well and this is my sister Kairi and her spirits Kura and Yami.
Kairi: (Smiles brightly as Hana puts a perfectly bloomed pink rose in her hair making her giggle). Hi, nice to meet you!
Kura: Hello. (Bows her head slightly).
Yami: Sup.
Hana: Well met.
Jennifer: Yes, and this is my butler Chazz and his spirits Hiki and Tori.
Hana: (Goes over to shake your hand and she puts a black and white flower in Chazz’s and Tori’s hair as welll).
Chazz: Umm well thank you. (Shakes her hand awkwardly at first because of the flowers as he takes the flowers out put them on his coat pocket neatly).
Tori: (Just takes the flower off and attaches the flowers to his sword sheath as he shakes Hana’s hand).
Hana: (Pouts a little as the flowers are taken out but sighs and shrugs it off).
Shizen: Hana could you tell me where most of the remaining poison spirits are taking refuge?
Hana: (Sits at a small table near Shizen as his smile fades into a frown with teary eyes as it is clear a hard subject is brought up).
Shizen: (Looks down not sure if she wants to know the answer fearing the worst).
Hiki: (Goes over by Hana and rubs her back comfortingly).
Hana: It was not long ago… I remember just like you do… But when I had left them, they were fine like most days… But when I came back… I found many of them missing… It looked like some were killed… And I couldn’t do anything… I wasn’t there…. (Begins to cry looking down with her hands on her face as those memories come back as well as for Shizen).
Jennifer: (Hugs Hana to comfort her). It is alright, it is not your fault.
Shizen: (Walks away a little with her back turned and with her head down).
Tori: Now where was that. I’m sure they didn’t go down without a fight.
Hana: (Laughs a little but still cries). Their pretty stubborn and it’s not far from here but there’s not much there now. Whoever did it must have been strong… Families were there too. The water council member Mizuko helped us find an island Shizen had asked of her to hide them after a time, a sanctuary.
Shizen: (Her back is still turned with her head down as she punches the wall making it crack a bit).
Chazz: Well, we might as well leave since the fire guards are slowly taking notice of us so before we make a scene we should head out.
Shizen: … Hana before I go can I ask… Was Zahir with them….
Hana: Zahir? I have not seen him since he and a few others had gone to a island seeking refuge there. Most had returned and were with the group here to try and find more, he was not with them nor was his wife, Ziona. Have you heard from them, are they ok?
Shizen: (Sighs but nods). Zahir was contracted for a while and just returned to the spirit world. I hope he is safe.
Hana: As do I. (Looks down). There can’t be many left probably enough to count on your two hands at most.
Hiki: Hopefully they are alright and he and his wife. (Looks shocked but yet not too much saddly).
Hana: Why yes, they were married a little after they went into hiding.
Shizen: He’s very much in love with her from what I remember and her same to him. (Smiles slightly as she remembers them well expesially the wedding).
Hik: Daw that’s cute.
Shizen: I just hope that both are safe and that he has found his wife again.
Jennifer: Well, we will find them. I know it and I kind of want to meet his wife.
Kairi: I bet they are so cute.
Shizen: They really are… I hope they are alright I worry for all their safety.
Chazz: Well, it’s time to get moving, one set of the guards are talking with some people more than likely about where we are.
Chazz and Tori: (Ready their swords but do not draw then from the sheathes as they watch them from the window).
Shizen: Right let’s get going before there is trouble.
Jennifer: If we leave a few at a time that will help.
Shizen: (Before she leaves, she smiles at Hana gratefully). Hana thank you you have done your best and I can’t thank you enough.
Hana: Farewell and I wish I could help more.
Hiki: No don’t worry you have helped enough.
Jennifer: (She and Shizen walk out first after Shizen hugs Hana followed by Kairi, Kura and Yami who go next, all of them having put up their hoods).
Chazz, Hiki and Tori: (Follow last but maintain a distance again).
Jennifer: Where should we go?
Shizen: Hmm the central area of the poor district perhaps. Many go there during the day so perhaps we can find one who can help.
Jennifer: Alright let us head there then.
Shizen: Yes, let’s go through the alleys. There are no fire guards that way so it should be easier. Yami, can you describe the man you saw? (Signals for Chazz, Hiki and Tori to come closer as they turn into the ally seeing no guards).
Yami: Well didn’t really pay attention in the bar but he had black hair and a cloak like we have but purple.
Jennifer: Good he is our only lead so tell me if you spot one looking similar to that
Chazz: If not then we will need another way to track him down. (Gets closer to the group along with Hiki and Tori).
Shizen: Are you three fine then? No problems behind us?
Chazz: No, it seems no followers so at the moment we are in the clear.
Hiki: (Sighs out loud). Thankfully, I don’t want to harm the city.
Shizen: Good we should be fine going through here.
Jennifer: Kairi how are you doing?
Kairi: Fine but there are a lot of different spirits here it is so cool.
Tori: There certainly are, kinda hard to just look for one. Especially ones that are supposed to be hard to find.
Kairi: We will find him, I know it.
Jennifer: It is nice to be positive and I think so too.
Shizen: Yes, it’s good to have hope and it’s this way to the main area, it’s not far. (Walks ahead as everyone who follows her and makes it right at the edge of the ally).
Jennifer: Where should we start in this area?
Shizen: Let’s see, many travelers pass through the inn so maybe someone in the lounge or the innkeeper himself has information since many poor travelers use the rest area. The innkeeper lets them rest there too since he is a kind man.
Kairi: He sounds nice.
Shizen: He cares about people who are not well off.
Hiki: Sounds like a good place to start off.
Shizen: Let’s stay together as we walk there. We should be fine if we do for not getting lost. (Nods and walks ahead as they follow across the square and into the inn. They stop in the resting area with their hoods still up seeing very few there).
Yami: (Looks shocked seeing a man sitting back like he’s resting but with his purple hood up and walks forward). Hey you’re that guy!
?????: (The man is wondering what is happening having been startled from his rest. He starts to panic so he starts to rush out shoving past Yami).
Yami: Wait dude chill just want to talk… But fightings more fun.
Kura: (Knocks Yami over the head). You are never talking for us again.
Yami: (Grabs his head). Hey!
Jennifer: We just want to ask you a few questions, that is all!
?????: (Disappears from sight suddenly as he mixes into crowd from the nearby market).
Jennifer: Wait! (Runs after where he disappeared and looks around as everyone else follows).
Shizen: (Looks around changing her eyes to an animal that can take in surrounding better and spots him as she vanishes at a fast speed and ends up behind him). I have to say you are very good at hiding. (She realizes the person she finds is the wrong person but wears the same type of cloak). Hmm wrong man, my apologies. (Rushes back to the group). Perhaps travel through the alleys from here.
Jennifer: Since this whole place is made of nature I will try and feel if there is any movement in any of the alleys. (Closes her eyes as everyone waits as she searches).
Kura: It is the best place to look since it is easy to hide there.
Jennifer: (There is movement but a lot like another crowd). It is another crowd; I cannot tell from here. What should we do?
Shizen: (Pauses for another moment in thought as everyone else looks around).
Kairi: I will go look for him! (Run into the crowd easily getting through since she is so small).
Jennifer: (Lunges to try and pull her back but is to late). Kairi!
Kura: Come back! (Everyone tries to reach Kairi but can’t fit past the crowd).
Jennifer: Kairi! (Starts to panic shouting her name more frantically to come back).
Kairi: (Runs through the crowd as she looks around to find whoever they were looking for looking in every place she sees like alleys and corners of every part and some guys in the area become interested in her, so they move closer to her while she is looking around and the men start talking to her as they closer).
Man 1: Hey Mis how you doing? Who are you looking for?
Kairi: (Turns looking surprised but smiles brightly and bow). Oh, hello mister, I am just looking for I guy who ran away from my group…. (Her word trails off as she looks for them). Where did they go?
Man 2: Who are you talking about? Are you lost?
Kairi: I guess I did run off, but I thought they were behind me… Oh well I think I can find them after I find that guy they were looking for.
Man 1: Well, we could help you look for them and the guy you’re looking for.
Kairi: Oh, you would! Thank you you are to kind to help but I can do it on my own. I am sure my group and my spirits can find me somehow.
Man 2: Spirits wait… You aren’t a spirit then lady?
Kairi: Oh umm… Is that bad… I am sorry. (Realise she might have said something bad instinctively stepping back looking a little upset that she might be in trouble).
Man 3: (One of the men taps Kairi’s back). No need to worry, we are just shocked. A spirit and their contractor sometimes come this world because of curiosity so it’s fine.
Kairi: (Jumps a little being scared not knowing the guy was behind her and kicks him and unknowingly in a critical spot). EEP! …. O-oops sorry mister you scared me.
Man 1: (The man falls to his knees as the other 2 men grab Kairi). What do you think you’re doing!
Kairi: I-I’m sorry I-I didn’t mean to! (Gets teary eyed as she shakes out of the other two men’s hold and runs away into the dark alley but is able to see fine. She panics a little as she runs and runs until she finds that it is a dead end and turns around but the end of the alley lit partially by a small lamp).
Man 2: (The men follow her and quickly corner her intimidatingly). Nowhere to go now.
Man 1: Maybe we should teach her a lesson.
Man 3: I like that idea; I need some fun. Haven’t got any in awhile.
Kairi: I-I didn’t mean to… I-I’m sorry it was an accident. (She starts to cry as she absorbs the darkness and makes a dark barrier between them and her but is a little weaker since her focus is not all there).
All Three Men: (Panic but get closer to her as they grab her arms easily to pull her out).
Kairi: No didn’t mean to! (Tries to pull away but cannot get out of their grip as tears still fall). Go away you’re scaring me! (Her hood falls so can see her face as she struggles to get away).
Man 3: Time to have some fun girly. (The men hold out their hands but suddenly a figure appears in front of Kairi and grabs their hands and throws them to the side like it’s nothing with a staff sword holding them down).
?????: Didn’t anyone ever tell to not pick on girls. They are quite gentle and sensitive to these types of things. (To the unconscious men having landed far from the purple hooded man’s strength).
Kairi: (Stumbles back a little but then regains herself as she walks closer to the man who saved her in the dark ally her eyes widening in shock seeing the man in the purple hood). Huh who… You are that guy… The one we were looking for.
?????: Oh, am I now? I may be or not may not, many of my type.
Kairi: But you ran from the inn right once Yami pointed you out. Please do not runaway again. (Has a cute pouty look as if begging).
?????: I’m sorry madam, I must be going now. (The man starts to leave taking back his staff sword).
Kairi: No, stop please! (Grabs his arm tightly doing all she can to not let go). Please my sis and her spirit are looking for someone and we just want to ask you a few questions about that. Please stay to answer that at least! (Gets teary eyed as she clings to the man arm).
?????: I’m sorry but I can’t. I need to find my own answers right now.
Kairi: Then maybe we can help you too. We are looking for guy named… Oh no what was it umm… I am worse than Yami… Umm started with a Z umm… Oh there is a statue thingy of him back home, I think.
?????: Is it Zahir… Or Ziona?
Kairi: Oh, right Zahir and I think his wife is Ziona…. Their both pretty names…. Wait you know them?
????: You could say that…. (Looks downwards).
Kairi: Great can you tell me where he is. Umm two of our group are worried about him and I think I am to since they sound nice.
?????: I haven’t seen them both in a while.
Kairi: Oh, that’s too bad, sis and her spirit are looking for them to see if they are safe and together again. I have heard that he was away a long time and that they are really, really in love.
?????: I heard the same… I was there at their wedding; it was very nice.
Kairi: Really then you can help us! Shizen told us a little about it and my sis came to because she was worried about them.
?????: I’m sorry madam but I’ll be going now.
Kairi: (Continues to hold on to his arm stubbornly). No, I will not let you! Please Shizen wants to know if Zahir made it back home and if not, we are going to help him so please tell us all you can about him and where he might be… Please?
?????: (Manages to get his arm away from Kairi). I’m sorry I haven’t seen either of them in a long time.
Kairi: (Backs away wiping a few tears with a nod looking downwards). I-I’m sorry… Thank you for helping me….
Jennifer: There you are, Kairi I was worried sick! (Runs to Kairi holding her)!
Kairi: S-sis I’m sorry.
Yami: Nice going, you found him can I punch him as payback?
Kura: (Hits Yami over the head). Stop being an idiot.
Yami: Ow hey but still Kairi thanks for using your powers made it easier to find you.
Shizen: (Goes over to the man looking at him closely from under her hood seeing he has dark purple eyes and black messy hair and short beard getting a slight smile).
?????: I just helped her from those idiots, I’ll be going now.
Shizen: Wait you’re not going anywhere. (Uses her bow to block his path as she narrows her eyes at him). First what is your name?
Gen: Gen, why you ask, and it seems kind of rude to fire at a stranger.
Shizen: Gen… Hmm I don’t recall a poison spirit by that name and relax. (Fires an arrow that grazes past him but it takes his hood off).
Jennifer: Shizen don’t umm you’re a poison spirit?
Gen: Still seems to be a bit rude no matter how you phrase it, and I was always in the lower section… I didn’t want to be known for personal reasons.
Shizen: And what reasons were those hmm? (Leans in close to his ear to whisper seeing right through his story). Is it to find your wife?
Gen: I believe that is my business with what I do Mis and what wife? I have been alone all my life.
Shizen: Could all of you give us a moment alone.
Jennifer: … Umm I guess umm please don’t be too hard on the man…. (As she walks away with Kairi, Kura and Yami who look confused but follow).
Shizen: (Still whispers as Jennifer looks back at them confused before she leaves). Because I know every nature spirit since it is my job to keep them all safe… Which I have been failing at… I’m sorry.
Gen: (Looks confused as he puts his hood up again).
Shizen: You’re staying here Gen. (Nods for Chazz, Hiki and Tori to leave and they leave the alley as well as Gen stays).
Chazz, Hiki and Tori: (All hesitate to leave but reluctantly do so).
Shizen: (Sighs looking at Gen more sincerely once alone instead of her serious tone like before). You can stop the act now. (Pulls back her hood). Ziona must miss you terribly.
Gen: (Still looks away hiding his face). I don’t know a Ziona.
Shizen: (Hits him over the head with the bow but not to hard being blunt with her actions and words). Zahir quit the act. I’m trying to get you back home though you look much different since haven’t been taking good care of yourself… You look awful.
Gen: (Sighs). … Shizen explain this hole I feel in my heart… It feels like I’m going to tear apart.
Shizen: (Looks up in thought with a slight smile). It is the feeling that you are missing part of your heart because another that you gave it to has it and will not be filled until you see her again and that she is safe.
Gen: I guess it might… Ziona was always there for me wasn’t she… Though sometimes she kept trying to push me away in the past I just couldn’t leave her side…. (Tears begin to form).
Shizen: I’m sure she feels the same and she only did that in the past when she thought you could find someone better, but she always opened to you and you only Zahir. I remember you doing that same to her in those early days so you both had that in common.
Zahir: (Begins to cry as he looks up up at Shizen). The hole in me needs closer….
Shizen: Then let me help you… Let me help ease the pain you have had by taking you to her. (Hugs Zahir holding him close and rubbing his back to try and comfort him). You and others have suffered enough… I am so sorry… It is my responsibility for your safety, and I have failed as a leader… I’m so sorry…. (Holds Zahir tight in her arms letting him let out all the emotions he held back).
Zahir: (Just cries in Shizen’s arms as her hold is like a mother’s comfort to him, greatly needed in that moment to let out).
Shizen: Shh it’s alright…. (Pets Zahir’s head letting him take all the time he needs to let everything out). Reminds me of holding you as a little kid… Always so emotional though you acted so strong and tough to hide that part of you… The only one who made you show your emotions was Ziona so let me take you home… You have been without her far to long….
Zahir: (Shakes his head as he pulls away and wipes his eyes).
Shizen: Good now let’s get going. If I get us a boat can you direct us to the island from there?
Zahir: I think so if I find my normal boat driver… Or Hana, she knows the hidden locations best
Shizen: I see, do you know this boat driver then? (Puts an arm over Zahir’s shoulder as they start to walk from one end of the ally to the other).
Zahir: I’m not sure if he would still be here but his name was Gyo.
Shizen: Well, it’s a start but if not, I know water spirits that know the ocean like the back of their hand.
Jennifer: (Sees both walking toward us to the opening of the ally and quickly goes to meet them). Is everything fine now?
Kairi: (Looks up at him anxiously). Can you tell us anymore about that guy we’re looking for?
Shizen: (Grins and pats Zahir on the back pushing him forward). You tell them.
Zahir: (Sighs). Always gotta put me on the spot now, don’t you?
Shizen: (Grins crossing her arms). yes, yes, I do.
Jennifer: (Very slowly connects the dots now seeing the man face having to pause and remembering his voice now that she pays attention). Wait….
Yami: I don’t care what your gonna say but I need pay you back for that fight. Seemed like it would be a fun fight.
Kura: (Sighs). You’re an idiot, don’t make him run again now.
Yami: (Crosses his arms grumpily). Hey!
Kairi: (Still looks up at the man confused). Is something wrong Gen?
Zahir: No nothing is wrong, and Gen isn’t my name Kairi. (Looks at Jennifer seeing her eyes widen in shock). As Miss Jenny can guesses my name is Zahir. A 2nd generation poison spirit, technically the person in charge of the poison spirits next to Shizen for obvious reasons.
Jennifer: (Smiles happily giving Zahir a hug). I’m glad we found you! Shizen told me everything that has happened to you and the others, so it worried me too. What has happened to you and the others is not right, so we wanted to help in any way possible. Even if its something small like helping you go home.
Kairi: Your Zahir! (Smiles brightly and hugs Zahir as well). Yay I found him!
Yami: Hey I found him first!
Zahir: I see… But yes, what happened was unneeded and idiotic but technically Kairi found me much more casually then you did.
Yami: Hey not cool, I was the first one to talk and see you so that means I win.
Kura: It was not a competition.
Yami: …. Well, I still won.
Shizen: Yes, anyways Zahir…. I’m sorry I could not stop poison spirits from going through this hardship. (Looks down hood covering her face in shadow). Please forgive my weakness as your leader. (Kneels before Zahir her head still down). Because I was not strong enough many died and suffered, and I must apologize that I could not be there when it first started.
Jennifer: Shizen…. (Is taken aback by Shizen’s saddened gesture to Zahir).
Zahir: (Puts his arms behind his head). Now we can’t have a council member on her knees now can we. (Sits by Shizen). True I do wish things went better but we can’t change what already has happened or regret it. We must move forward and embrace what we have and what we can do now. That’s what it means to be strong now doesn’t it?
Tori: (Stands by Jennifer and Kairi). It does, we move forward to know we did everything we could no matter how much we wish we could change it.
Shizen: (Laughs a little and sits looking up again wiping her eyes). So wise yet so young, and that’s why I am here now. To make up for when I wasn’t there.
Kairi: Umm mister Zahir why did you run from us even when you saved me and knew Shizen was with us…. We just wanted to help.
Kura: Though I understand why you ran from Yami.
Yami: Hey he’s the one who threw me and then threatened me with a blade. I didn’t do anything.
Zahir: (Chuckles a bit as he scratches his cheek). Umm well the fire guards are looking around for poison spirits since there were rumors of some in this city so that’s one reason. Another reason is just bounty hunters really so that’s why I grew out my hair and my beard, so my appearance wasn’t the same as before. The reason I saved you Kairi was because you were in trouble by those guys. If I didn’t help you I couldn’t help myself or the other poison spirits. Also, Yami I did that because I was cautious since I didn’t know your purpose of following me. If it was a hunter, you would be dead but since I wasn’t sure I just threaten you to be safe. I am sorry about that.
Jennifer: Yes, thank you for saving her, she is a bit to clueless and trusting but hopefully Kairi you learned to not trust people you just meet and not to run off.
Kairi: Sorry sis I didn’t mean to. (Hugs Jennifer clinging to her).
Yami: (Shrugs). It’s cool dude just have to pay you back for that.
Kura: Sorry about him, he has no manners.
Yami: Hey!
Shizen: Yes, they are not even close to hunters since they are hiding as well.
Kura and Yami: (Look surprised as they watch Zahir carefully still being on guard from their experience on the streets and with people they do not know well).
Zahir: Yes, I will hear about that payback later and no worries. I help when I can, but she did put up a good fight kicking them really good. It was quite funny if I could say the least and yeah, I found some at that bar and that’s why that fight started back there. I had to handle them in a way.
Chazz: (Stays on guard making sure they are not watched).
Hiki: (Goes by Zahir). Zahir you were really cool when you were fighting with Jenny and Shizen.
Zahir: Oh, so you were awake. I thought everyone was asleep from the gas.
Hiki: (Shakes her head). I noticed the gas and made a small thin barrier to block out the effects but pretended to sleep.
Zahir: Hmm I need to be more prepared for things like that.
Shizen: (Looks over to Kura and Yami seeing they are on edge since she had mentioned their own time hiding). No need to be on guard. Zahir is a person I would trust with my own life.
Jennifer: (Looks to Hiki in shock). Wait…. Hiki Why did you not help me if you were awake….
Shizen: If she had stepped out of that barrier, she would have done the same and passed out the same as all others… Oh and this is Chazz, he is the child’s butler and his spirits Hiki and Tori who are of light and dark element.
Zahir: (Looks at Hiki and Tori curiously). Light and dark huh…. Such a rare combination.
Hiki: (Tilts her head curiously). Rare?
Zahir: Yes, because the two do not get along often. You don’t usually see the two together but once every millennium or so one will pop up. It is still shocking to know and see first hand.
Hiki and Tori: (Look at each other with a smile).
Hiki: Well, we didn’t get along at first that well but now he is like a brother to me. (Goes by Tori and drags him to Chazz as she clings to his arm). But we do now because we care about master.
Jennifer: (Laughs a little smiling at the three of them and Kairi doing the same).
Shizen: (Laughs as well). Yes, and quite powerful indeed. It is said a dark and light spirit are contracted to the same person happens when the worlds are in need of a bit more balance.
Zahir: Yes, they can be, and some balance is always needed.
Shizen: Yes, oh and of course you have met Kairi.
Kairi: It is nice meeting you! (Smiles brightly and bows).
Shizen: And her spirits which you already have met Yami before and this is his older sister Kura.
Yami: Sup. (Does a casual wave while his arms are crossed with a grin).
Kura: Yes, well met but if Shizen trusts you this much… I suppose we can trust you as well.
Zahir: Hello again and yes it would be quite difficult to travel if you didn’t trust me now, wouldn’t it?
Shizen: Yes, they are both dark spirits and the grandkids of Nagi.
Yami: (Both are surprised for a moment but nod and sighs). … Yeah, but we’ve been hunted since our dads a monster.
Kura: (Watches Zahir carefully). Yes, please don’t think ill of us. We are not like our father.
Zahir: I think those also being hunted can not judge others being hunted.
Yami: (Laughs). Got a point, I guess.
Kura: Yes, and I’m surprised you were threatened by little Yami, Though I suppose it’s odd to find a kid who loves fighting as much as him.
Yami: Sis stop calling me that and fightings fun. Why I ran into the bar.
Zahir: I don’t judge anyone because the last time I did that I almost died so I take every person I see as a threat unless proven otherwise.
Yami: Yeah, I can respect that since I’ve been there a few times.
Jennifer: Umm Zahir why did you come to the city…? Was it because you heard that poison spirits were in hiding here and thought Ziona might be here too?
Zahir: (Takes a second before he answers). … Pretty much plus I wanted to see what was going on.
Shizen: (Places her hand on Zahir’s shoulder). I already checked with the one I put in charge of the poison spirits here…. You may not want to hear this… But…. (Looks down again as she collects her emotions to give the news since both were away).
Zahir: That nobody’s here anymore or they were killed… I know that already Shizen.
Shizen: Yes…. Hana told me what had happened that she had found many possibly killed but some missing… I hope they are alright, but have you talked to her…. I am the one who put her in charge of bringing them supplies to survive and to take care of them… I remember when she even decorated for your and Ziona’s wedding…. She cares so much about others…. She probably spends most of her time looking for the ones who went missing if I know her well. (Still looking down as she hides her emotions behind her hood a little). I gave her I large burden to hold…. Yet she would have done anything to help….
Zahir: (Is silent for a moment as he pets Shizen head). And it was as beautiful wedding I could ever imagine… And she is doing everything she can and no I haven’t visited her since I don’t wish to be a burden on Hana. I feel she doesn’t regret doing this. She is happy in her way of doing things.
Shizen: I suppose but she probably would like to know that you are safe at least.
Kairi: Maybe she can help us get a boat since I heard that you and Ziona lived on an island. Maybe she is still there, and you can live happily ever after like in those fairy tales I read.
Zahir: (Looks up with small tears in his eyes). … Yes… To see my wife again.
Jennifer: (Gives a reassuring smile and hugs Zahir). Then let’s get going. How long has it been 5, 10 years?
Shizen: Well, I would think much longer. Say maybe 90 years or maybe even a full century… Remember spirits barely age though the time is still very long.
Jennifer: (She and Kairi look completely shocked). That is far too long! We have to get you home as soon as possible. Let’s go and we need to get you cleaned up to see her too.
Zahir: (Laughs). I guess so but now should I kinda let everything grow out? She may like the beard.
Hiki: Yes, all girls like their love coming back to them especially after so long.
Shizen: Indeed, but you didn’t have a beard when you were with her so perhaps you should shave though it does not look bad. Just need to trim it a little.
Zahir: (Scratches his chin). Huh maybe your right, should trim it down at least.
Chazz: Well, where shall we headfirst.
Zahir: Maybe Hana’s place for a bit. I should probably let her know that I am safe, so she does not worry.
Shizen: Yes, and perhaps if we are lucky, she can guide us to a boat we could use.
Chazz: Yes, and Kairi stay close this time.
Kairi: I promise!
Everyone who does not have their hood up puts their hoods back up as they head out into the alleys. Zahir starts to lead the way out the alley as everyone else follows. Shizen walks beside Zahir as Jennifer walks next to Kairi with Kura and Yami behind them as they watch their surroundings with Chazz, Hiki and Tori.
Shizen: This city is less safe than I remember it. I will need to fix that as soon as possible…. (As she narrows her eyes at fire guards as she says this).
Chazz: A change in pace would be nice.
Zahir: (Chuckles a bit). It would, wouldn’t it?
Shizen: Yes, but we can take the ally from before as a shortcut since there are no guards through there. Hopefully Hana is home at the moment.
Hiki: I hope so too. I don’t think the guards noticed the people coming out of her house so she should be fine.
Shizen: Yes, and if there’s trouble from those guards, I will handle the matter personally.
Zahir: I don’t think we should cause a scene since it will put the civilians at risk so we should avoid conflict.
Shizen: Yes, I understand but I still have a bad feeling about them. (Sighs as she calms herself). Moving on from that I agree, let’s take the same way back through the alley it’s safer.
Jennifer: (Nods keeping an eye on everyone around them as she holds Kairi’s hand to keep her close as Kura and Yami keep an eye on things as well).
Zahir: (Begins to lead the way as everyone follows). I know these alleys like the back of my hand.
Shizen: (Laughs a little). I would assume so. It has been a long time since I have walked through this area, but I can never forget any area in my territory.
Yami: Remind me of the alleys in the dark city… A bit brighter though I think. (As he looks around curiously).
Jennifer: It is pretty dark here; was it pitch black in the dark city?
Yami: Yup pretty much.
Kura: But dark spirits can see fine in the dark.
Zahir: (Chuckles). Yes, this is one of the brighter cities in this territory and it was very dark in your city when I passed through it.
Tori: Though yes, we can naturally see better in the dark.
Hiki: (Still clings to Chazz). Well usually I would just light up the place.
Shizen: But you should see fine in the dark as well Zahir. When the first-generation spirits decided that they needed help and split their power into many types some blended slightly with other elements making many kinds of power. Poison was created with nature and a very small amount of darkness.
Jennifer: (Gives a fascinated expression). Wow really?
Yami: First generation is so much older than any of the others. I mean 2nds like late and mid twenties or something and I mean you’re so old sounds like then.
Kura: That was very rude. (As she grabs Yami’s ear).
Yami: Ow let go!
Zahir: I know but for some reason I have more wind and water mixed in with me which is how I made the gas spread so fast. True I am older but that doesn’t mean I can’t fight.
Yami: But that explains why the first generation is so much older.
Shizen: (Laughs patting Zahir on the back). Zahir you’re not even close to old. You are in your twenties in looks. When you get my age then you can say your old.
Zahir: Well, you never know, poison can be used for good things like looks.
Shizen: (Laughs more). I can see your sense of humor is still there.
Jennifer: Wait if the first-generation spirit created the second all together then how was the first created?
Shizen: It is said it was by one single spirit that controlled everything, but its powers split and we were created with its passing. (Everyone one besides Zahir looks at her being stunned).
Zahir: Pretty much like a point of origin for all of us.
Chazz: (Thinks to himself but out loud). I see that makes clear sense. All things have a beginning.
Shizen: Yes, but that spirit controlled and even mastered every element taking care of it all which is no simple task. After a while a responsibility like that can take its toll so he split himself into the first generation and taught us all that he could before he disappeared. We split from him one by one light and dark being first and I think I was the last if I recall…. This was long, long ago and it took us a while to figure out that even we needed help. That is why the first generation is so much older.
Hiki: We didn’t have a clear direction?
Zahir: Because of the sudden change in environment, we all to figure things out ourselves.
Shizen: To tell you the truth making a second generation we had no idea what we were doing. Yes, it left us with a tenth of the power we had but I say it was worth it. Though raising so many spirits at once was difficult but I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Kura: You were ten times stronger than now?
Shizen: Yes, but I would rather have the children I have now then any amount of power I had before. (Pats Zahir on the head).
Jennifer: Wow that is amazing!
Kairi: You probably have so many cool stories!
Shizen: (Laughs). I suppose.
Zahir: (Chuckles a little bit). Well, you could say we have some though Shizen should have more than me. Even though they didn’t know what they were doing at first, I think they did alright on how everyone turned out so far.
Shizen: Why thank you. (Smirks and bows comically as they reach the other side of the ally with Hana’s home nearby as Jennifer points to it. Shizen stops and keeps a eye on the fire guards in the area).
Chazz: I think that is it right there. We should be able to avoid trouble getting there if we are careful.
Zahir: The area seems to be clear enough so it should be fine but yes let’s be carefull.
Hiki: (Is still kind of clinging to Chazz).
Jennifer: (Looks at Chazz and Hiki and blushes slightly but then all of them walk as they draw no attention to themselves Kura and Yami going behind the group as they watch their surrounding as she and Shizen are on guard as well).
Chazz, Hiki and Tori: (Are walking by the group as they walk at the same pace).
Zahir: (Leads everyone to Hana’s house and as they get closer, they see that the door is slightly open and that the lock is busted like it is broken into. Shizen gets very worried as they get closer, and he starts to panic as well as he starts to walk faster).
Shizen: (Walks fast as well leaving the others behind almost running making it there first and rushing in. Is in shock seeing the room in disarray like a struggle had happened. Hana is a little further into the room with many injuries like she had been attacked harshly as she lays on the floor not moving at all. She rushes to her with tears in her eyes as she holds Hana in her arms as she checks for a pulse). Hana! (Sighs in relief that Hana is still breathing but still is in a urgent worried as she holds her). … She is alive at least but hurt badly.
Hiki: (Rushes over and starts to heal her as Zahir holds her taking her from Shizen’s arms with the same look of worry).
Kura: (Rushes over to help heal as well).
Jennifer: (Walks in rushing over with Kairi as everyone looks shocked as well).
Shizen: Hana I’m so sorry….
Hana: (Wakes up weakly seeing Zahir first and smiles faintly). I-I’m…. Glad your…. Safe I was…. Worried….
Zahir: (His hands clench onto her). Hana… Don’t speak… You must rest… Don’t leave me like everyone else….
Hiki: (Focuses on healing while Chazz keeps a lookout outside while Tori stands by Jennifer and Kairi).
Jennifer: (Tears up and looks away).
Kairi: (Cries as well feeling like she cannot help as Yami watches outside as well and Kura helps heal with Hiki).
Hana: I’m…. Fine I-I…. Was looking for…. The remaining poison spirits…. (Starts to cry as she reaches for Zahir a little but her hand falls being too weak). I-I…. Couldn’t save…. Them, I’m so…. Sorry….
Zahir: (Has tears running down his face). Stop saying you’re sorry… Both of you just stop it… It just reminds of what happened so no more sorrys!
Shizen: (Her eyes widen in shock as tears form, and she closes her eyes and nods). Very well….
Hana: (Is shocked as well as she cries). I-I… Didn’t mean… To upset you… I-I just wanted to… Keep everyone safe, there still… Are two left I found I can… Protect, not all lost…
Shizen: (Look in shock looking down then at Zahir as she whispers). Only two here….
Zahir: There are still more, not just 2 many, many more… Don’t lose hope in poison just yet… I am upset but not at you two, just at the past that haunts me….
Hana: I-I…. Have not lost…. hope even if…. There’s just one there’s…. Still hope.
Shizen: I see…. Hana thank you. You have done all you can, but I must ask who did this to you… Though I have an idea.
Hana: … F-fire…G-guar-…. (Winces being in pain still as she then goes unconscious not able to say more).
Shizen: (as she looks down to cover her emotions as she clenches her hand into a fist). I see….
Zahir: (Looks up with rage in his eyes).
Tori: (Steps by Shizen and Zahir). Calm down you two. If we cause a scene, we will never get a chance to see Ziona or get a boat out of here.
Shizen: …. Zahir…. I’m about to do something I did when this first started… I’m done having this element fear fire… I’m done watching families be ripped apart…. I’m done hiding from those that I know want me gone…. I have a responsibility protect…. And I’m done failing at that. (She says with anger in her voice as she stands up and starts walking to the door). Excuse me… I have trash to throw out.
Jennifer: (Looks in shock having never seeing Shizen act this way). Shizen….
Tori: Shizen calm down, we can’t do this now. It isn’t the right time.
Shizen: (Stops by the door anger still in her voice). Then when is? I’m done watching them die…. Not just the poison spirits…. They will hurt nature spirits as well if they don’t stop… And already have… This must be stopped… There will be no more innocent lives lost to selfishness.
Chazz: Then may I suggest we have a play in this then but do try to keep your cover hidden at least.
Shizen: (looks back at us revealing her eyes are red exactly like when Jennifer had lost control those few times and with anger in her expression). No promises.
Jennifer: (Sees Shizen’s eyes pausing in shock along with everyone else as well, Hiki staying behind to heal).
Chazz: We may need to go help her now, but somebody will need to stay here to cover Hiki while she heals Hana.
Yami: I’m not staying and missing out on the fun.
Jennifer: (Nods still looking shocked as Shizen leaves out the door). … I will look after her.
Kura: I will help her heal and set my strongest barrier around this place.
Kairi: I am coming to!
Jennifer: (Says strictly). No Kairi.
Kairi: … But I want to help.
Jennifer: No Kairi you are staying, and I will go. I need to help to. (Pushes away her fears of when she lost control looking determined to help).
Chazz: (Puts his hand on Jennifer’s shoulder as Tori does the same to Kairi). Let us go milady. You are not doing this alone.
Jennifer: (Nods as she grabs her bow getting ready for anything that happens once, they go outside). Zahir, are you joining this?
Zahir: (Unsheathes his staff sword with heavy tears in his eyes). I was already going too regardless.
Kairi: (Whispers to herself looking a little upset). But I want to help too….
Jennifer: (Smiles getting a little teary eyed giving Zahir a hug). And after this we will help you find your wife…. I promise.
Zahir: (Nods his head). Let’s go.
Chazz and Tori: (Unseth their swords as well). Yes.
Meanwhile as Shizen walks out of the house she sees four fire guards talking to each other and walks up to them with her hood covering her face in shadows). Excuse me but may I ask why fire guards are guarding a nature city. I thought fire and nature were not of good terms.
Guard 1: Well on order from the council we are here, not sure fully why.
Shizen: I see then… Does it have to do with the killing of the poison spirits hiding that happened not long ago or the attack of a harmless nature spirit about an hour ago. (Her heads still is down but her hands clench into fists).
Guard 2: Wait someone was attacked? What do you mean? (Looks shocked like it is new news to him).
Shizen: Then you don’t know hmm well her last thing she had told me was that the one that had attacked her was a fire spirit, but I only see guards that are fire spirits, so it makes me question which one it was.
Guard 1: There were some reports of fire assassins in the area or just thugs.
Shizen: Fire assassins hmm are you sure it was not a guard. I was told by the victim of the attack personally, so I want you to be very honest… I see lies well
Guards: (All of them begin to look a little nervous).
Shizen: Well, I’m waiting and I have to say counsel member Shizen would not like hearing about the poison spirits that were killed recently as well. Even more so I don’t think counsel member Angi would send guards just to protect. That is very unlike him to have nothing to gain from it. (She still has her face in the shadows but grits her teeth that are almost wolf like).
Guard1: (The guards start to surround Shizen). I am afraid you are going to be taken into custody for conspiracy against the council.
Shizen: Now I have no intention of harming the counsel but if you plan to kill me for finding this out, I would at least like to know the truth. Don’t worry I won’t tell Shizen.
Guard 3: I’m afraid we still must bring you in for everything.
Shizen: Everything now? Hmm well I am simply a woman on the street. Are you planning to put the blame on me for the poison spirits and the one who was just attacked?
Guards: (Start to panic as one of them to ready their hands to grab Shizen).
Shizen: (Suddenly punches the one that is about to grab her in the face and with little effort sending him flying as she lifts her face showing her face but with red eyes still with anger deeply held within). I have to say that is enough of a confession to me…. Now get out of my city and out of this land…. Before I throw you out myself… And I won’t do it without injuries…. I promise that… It would be a mercy compared to your actions.
Guards: (Are thrown into one another as more gather around Shizen).
Shizen: Are you really going against a council member? This is your final warning to leave with your own free will. I would think wisely on this. (Looks at one the of the guards that seem to oversee the others). Or does Angi want to be rid of me this time since I have seen assassins after me in the past so why not guards as well.
Guards: (Are hesitant after finally connecting the dots in their head fully realizing who it is and some get scared).
Shizen: Are you scared because you know you have done wrong or that you didn’t expect me to come back and protect the nature spirits myself…? Now leave this place or else I will be much less reasonable than I am now, and I won’t be trying to control myself like I am now. (Takes a step closer to the guards looking very angry and intimidating).
Guards: (Are backing off a bit but still get their weapons closer readying them).
Shizen: And now you’re about to attack a council member. You are quite brave but a bit stupid if I say so. (Moves one weapon away with her hand that is closest looking serious as she takes her bow off her shoulder). Last chance to leave is closing.
Head Guard: (Some guards do leave saying sorry as they run for their lives while the head guard says with the remaining). Shizen you hereby are sentenced to jail by treason for opposing council orders, so you lose your power as a council member.
Shizen: Now that’s not how it works. You need the people in her element to agree and the council to vote so I’m still in charge here… And I simply can’t stand by seeing innocent nature spirits harmed and poison spirit killed… So just try and take my power away…. (Uses her bow to make a weapon pointed at her point away again still looking angry, serious, and intimidating).
Chazz: (Suddenly he and Tori and everyone else stand next to Shizen). You would have to get through us first even try that.
Shizen: (Is surprised but then nods). Very well.
Jennifer: I cannot let you take Shizen away. To many people need her.
Yami: And besides, not like I would miss a fight like this.
Guards: (Are gathering more and more as the citizens are leaving the area of town and locking their doors in fear).
Jennifer and Shizen: (Aim their bows at the guards with a few arrows at once as Yami unsheathes his knifes watching the guard’s movement closely).
Tori: (He and Chazz unsheith their swords). Who wants to see who can take out the most guards?
Guards: (Are on standby with all sorts of weapons out).
Yami: (Grins). You’re on, this is going to be fun.
Shizen: (Smirks). Yes, though I may take out too many to keep track.
Jennifer: Well then you seem confident you are going to win.
Shizen: Perhaps….
Zahir: (Is already fighting some guards knocking them down and out). Well looks like I take the lead then!
Yami: Hey no fair! (Charges in being annoyed that he’s losing from the start).
Jennifer:(Shots my arrows pinning on guard to the wall with the arrows).
Shizen: So impatient… But I tend to be as well. (Decides to charge in using her bow and swinging it easily knocking out 4 guards that rush her at once switching to her short swords quickly every time the guards come close to her).
Jennifer: (As she shoots her bow seeing more guards rush in from other areas of the city). There are more incoming.
Yami: (As he fights able to move out of the guards reach because of his small size and striking). Makes it more fun, bring it! (As everyone is fighting with everything they have).
Shizen: (Goes into her second form using both her short swords to attack as Jennifer fires arrows watching everyone’s back as they fight and Yami going all out as he enjoys himself. Shizen says to Zahir since she is now fighting close to him). I should have done this many years ago but it’s better late than never I suppose.
Zahir: A good fight is always fun regardless. (His staff becomes the scorpion triple tails on his back with his increased speed while Tori goes into his own second form as well).
Yami: (Pauses looking at Zahir). Woah that’s cool.
Shizen: Especially when there’s something worth fighting for.
Zahir: (Gains swords on his arms so he charges forward and spins around to to slash many guards at once as guards keep coming at them).
Shizen: Well, someone’s taking the lead… Let me fix that. (Goes into her 3rd form and does the same taking out many guards at a time).
Yami: (Yell to both as he fights). Showoffs!
Chazz and Tori: (Chuckle as they both manage to keep up with Shizen and Zahir).
Guards: (Are starting to panic since they realize they do not have much of a chance of winning since another fight is breaking out somewhere in the city but with civilians against the guards having watched them fight giving them their own will to fight back themselves).
Shizen: (Smiles pridefully as her eyes glow green now). It seems like the other nature spirits have had enough as well.
Jennifer: (One guard gets behind Chazz and she quickly takes them out giving a small smirk and wave). You are welcome!
Yami: (Fights as well as he absorbs some darkness but not noticing much since he is having fun letting loose making his strikes more powerful).
Chazz: (Does the same for Jennifer imatating the small wave and smirk).
Tori: (Is back-to-back with Yami). Quite fun now, isn’t it?
Yami: Yeah, good way to let loose! (As he jumps high and kicks a guard in the head). They’re not much of a challenge though. Thought guards would put up more of a fight.
Guards: (Guards in front are starting to come in in their second forms which makes them a bit more difficult though not to skilled in how they weild it).
Tori: You just had to say something didn’t you.
Zahir: (Still is dealing with the guards as his rage grows).
Yami: Well at least more of a challenge but hey am I the only one with just a first form… Stop showing off, its pissing me off! (Get angry as he charges and absorbs darkness going away from Tori to try and not affect him as much as his eyes become black and red as he fights).
Shizen: (Still fights going into her third form as she as built-up rage as well she lets out).
Zahir: (Fights next to Shizen). We should. (Pauses as he slashes a guard). Do this again sometime.
Shizen: I agree. (Is back-to-back with Zahir as she fights). Let’s makes this place safe again… Especially for your wife to come back too.
Jennifer: (As she fires arrows in her second form and back-to-back with Chazz as they fight). I think we’re making a dent in the number of guards there are.
Chazz: Maybe but I think there are numbers are lowering at a good rate. (Is in second form with dark and light energies and swords for each. He causes a shock wave of energy to attack the guards and while Tori is fighting with Yami, and Zahir is still with Shizen focusing mostly at the fight at hand).
Jennifer: I have to admit having the people who live here fight as well helps quite a bit. (As she jumps up and steps on a guard’s head and then shoot down at a few guards. She then lands and then takes care of a few guards with long range weapons firing at them).
Chazz: Yes, it does because they needed the push to fight back. Shizen just helped make that push happen.
Jennifer: Well maybe from now on they will not live in fear. (As they see in the distance nature spirits rioting against the fire guards and nature guards fighting them as well on the front lines).
Chazz: (Stand by Jennifer guarding her while she fires her arrows). I do not think they ever can again.
Yami: (As he fights beside Tori). Woah a lot of people.
Tori: (After hitting some guards). It is indeed, makes our job easier at least.
Guards: (Are starting to struggle since most of their numbers are reducing heavily).
Shizen: Let’s put an end to this fight then shall we? (Slashes many guards at once at a great speed then connects her swords into her bow and fires many arrows at once with great accuracy).
Zahir: (Follows Shizen with the same idea with his swords and tails hitting a large group).
Yami: Quit showing off, ahh! (Gets shot in the shoulder but doesn’t go down being angry as he absorbs more darkness to add strength to his strikes as he throws a throwing dagger at at the one who hit him his eyes black and red and some guards that know of Izumi are taken off guard as they fight him moving away in fright). You’ll pay for that!
Tori: (Hits Yami head). Can you calm down you idiot! You’re taking energy from me now and we don’t need to cause another overload.
Yami: (Looks back realising he’s taking energy and slows it down). Sorry dude and hey I figured something out I can do with that so no problems. (Smirks and punches in mid air making a wave of dark energy come out of his fist sending a group of guards back). Just takes a bit of energy but its cool.
Tori: I see…. (Stabs his sword into the ground causing a light and dark energy wave to blast the guards). Something like that then?
Yami: Oh, come on no fair I just learned that yesterday. (Pout grumpily as he fights).
Tori: So, did I just learned that now.
Yami: Well then, I’m taking credit for giving you the idea. (He notices some of the guards start to panic and run away). Hey some are running, no fun fighting cowards.
Tori: We can just chase after them.
Yami: What’s the point. Weren’t we just supposed to kick them out? If they want to run, go ahead.
Shizen: (Notice she is fighting less and sees the guards that are running away). Well, I see they are losing their courage.
Zahir: I think they would after this much of an uproar since they are losing the power they wanted to keep.
Shizen: The power was not theirs to begin with and even, so they misused that power. The people here just needed a push to stop their fears.
Guards: (Are fleeing now instead of fighting knowing now they cannot win).
Jennifer: (Goes over to Shizen and Zahir and so does Yami). What should we do?
Shizen: Let them leave, they know know now not to underestimate nature.
Yami: They still are cowards for running. (As he grabs his shoulder since he was wounded but shrugs it off).
Chazz: (Comes over with Tori). Well, it seems at least now we got their attention, and the citizens should be fine from now on.
Zahir: Yes, they should… Maybe even protect some poison spirits since I know some are here just farther underground.
Shizen: They were afraid for their own lives… I do not blame them for what has happened but at least now they have finally woken up from their fear. (As they hear cheering from the crowd as they chase the last of the fire guards out of the gate).
Jennifer: I hope they can still live without fear even if you are gone for a while again.
Shizen: They must learn to protect themselves. I will not always be here to protect them. They must learn to fight for themselves even if their leader is not with them.
Chazz: I think it was a good wake up call for them to learn that they can fight for what they believe in no matter who it is since they all have power.
Zahir: (Smiles and so does Tori with a nod). Yes, I can agree to this.
Shizen: We may have a natural weakness to fire but if they are strong enough, they can overcome it.
The crowd of civilians start to walk over to them wanting to see Shizen and once reach her they kneel to her. They see Zahir right beside Shizen bowing their head feeling ashamed that they have been too afraid to help.
Shizen: (Stands tall as she speaks the the civilians). There is no need for that if you realise the strength, you have inside of yourselves now. I will not always be here though I will do all I can to help as long as I am. You need to stand on your own two feet and support each other so can you promise that you will help the remaining poison spirits. Back before this started, they were your friends’ neighbors and even family so help them. They have suffered enough, and I know many of you have too so fight so that you may end that not just for them but for your own families to live peacefully.
Zahir: (Speaks up standing tall beside Shizen). Don’t not feel sorry for us or feel ashamed that you didn’t help. Just hold out your hand like many before you did. Do not fear uncertainty with us. We are part of the family of this nature, just say that we aren’t just friends or anything of the sort. In a strange way are united through one element so we are seen as one instead of the normal two elements. Let this be a sanctuary for I have seen the cold hard reality, but some here have helped me and my comrades when we were escaping before, and some even came to my wedding. For now, I ask all of you to do your best to help us like before this all had happened. Just don’t say you’re sorry, it reminds us of what had happened. We are moving past that and into the future.
Shizen: (Places a hand on Zahir’s shoulder giving him a kind yet proud smile as some citizens look unsure but most nod as they stand).
Citizen 1: From now on we will do anything we can to help.
Citizen 2: And do everything we can to keep the fire out and hide you from whoever hunts you… Nature will stand together.
Hana: (Is at her doorway with her arms around Hiki and Kura for support and Kairi standing with them). And you and Ziona can stay with me when we return once I go back to my old home and not this small hideout…. You deserve more than that though where I used to live is just a average sized home it should be enough.
Zahir: (Smiles and laughs). Knowing her… She already has a house set up… Only thing missing is me but thank you….
Hana: (Smiles). Well, I hope you stop and visit though since she and Nara are still my closest friends.
Shizen: (Talks to the crowd). Ahh one more thing, we need a boat. Zahir is going to see his wife since he has not seen her in around 90 years, so I am taking him to find her. Can any of you lend us a boat?
Citizen 1: You can have mine. It should fit your group but that’s about it since it’s a fishing boat so should work. I’ll go get it set up now so just give me a bit and meet me down at the dock in about a hour.
Zahir: (Smiles at everyone with slight tears). Thank you very much everyone.
Civilian 1: It’s the least we could do. (Starts to head to the dock).
Hana: Zahir while you wait you could clean up for your wife. You can use the bath in my home and the brush and other thing to get yourself cleaned up. It’s the least I can offer.
Jennifer: Seems like a good idea, need to look good for Ziona.
Shizen: (Smiles patting Zahir’s back). Seems like a good idea though I think she will not be to concerned with it.
Civilians: (Smile as some wipe their tears away and bow to Shizen and Zahir in respect and Shizen nods to them).
Shizen: You may go back to your daily lives but with no more fear in your hearts from now on… Please promise me that.
Civilians: (Nod and bow again as they leave to clean up from their fight and look for any remaining fire guards that are hiding).
Zahir: Should I really? I think it will be fine.
Tori: True she won’t be that picky, but I think you should at least wash up.
Chazz: (Pats Zahir’s back). A man must always look his best for his wife.
Jennifer: True plus we have a little time to spare so why not.
Hana: And I can make you the best flowers possible for you to give to her. I can make sure they don’t wilt since I figured out how to make them stay longer with my power.
Kairi: Wow you can do that?
Hana: Yes, I did that with yours.
Kairi: Woah so cool.
Zahir: No need for flowers she was never into the whole flower thing since she was little. I did get her something while I was getting information hoping for the day to see her again.
Kairi: Ooh what is it, what is it! (Smiles brightly and hops up and down with a little excitement).
Zahir: I’m afraid that’s a secret until we see her.
Kairi: alright I guess I can wait…. (Pouts a little as everyone heads into Hana’s house).
Kura: (Notices Yami’s shoulder and frowns looking worried). Yami you’re hurt.
Yami: (Looks at his shoulder he is covering with his hand a wound he had gotten). Oh, just a scratch, no big deal.
Kura: (Sighs not believing Yami). Come here so I can heal you.
Yami: I told you I’m fine.
Kura: Just get over here. (Grabs Yami’s ear bringing him to her as she places her hand that is surrounded with darkness on his shoulder as she starts to heal).
Yami: Ow hey watch it!
Kura: And change your eyes back as well, we don’t want anyone to freak out.
Yami: Crap not again. (Sighs looking annoyed with himself as he changes them).
Hiki: (Is tired from all the healing and is laying down for a little bit).
Chazz: (Looks at Hiki with concern). Are you alright Hiki?
Hiki: (Blushes slightly). Yes, master I’m fine… Just a bit tired for the moment.
Hana: (Is sitting on a chair since Kura helped her get there and smiles at Hiki). Thank you for healing me.
Hiki: No problem… Anything… To help…. (Falls asleep).
Chazz: Making the gate and the healing must have taken a toll on her energy so she just needs sleep.
Shizen: Making a gate usually takes a bit of energy.
Jennifer: Alright she has a little time to rest now and can rest more when we get on the boat.
Chazz: No get some rest for now because we will not know what we come across on the boat so best be ready.
Tori: A little nervous now aren’t you master.
Chazz: (Stares at Tori). Well after our clash with the guards I do not expect a easy boat ride.
Shizen: We should be fine since it takes a day or so to travel from nature territory to fire but slightly less to get to the main neutral city where the council is located. If Zahir can navigate where the island is if we ask for a sea chart, we should be fine.
Chazz: I’m not talking about the directions I’m sure the river is blocked off by now.
Shizen: Perhaps the beach is blocked but we can unblock it. Fire spirits do not do well with water at all so if we get them in the water, it’s a lot harder to use their element and very few can swim as well.
Tori: Maybe we can cause a shockwave to knock them down into the water.
Shizen: That could work, it makes me glad that nature territory’s borders with water but also borders earth as well so to travel to their fire territory they either take the quicker route through water or earth which takes longer.
Jennifer: Wait if poison spirit took shelter on an island wouldn’t that mean they were in water territory and not nature?
Shizen: Yes, water is a ally of nature since I am close friend even sister with their council member who agreed that they can take shelter in their land. She does not want her people to be caught in a war so she has not interfered further which I can respect since she wants her spirits to stay peaceful and is a bit conservative herself.
Chazz: I believe that water was against it originally, so I don’t see a problem with them in water territory.
Zahir: Yes, it was them that told us about the island in the first place.
Shizen: Yes, they were as well but they also do not like to fight if they do not have to. She wants to find the path which brings peace and fire being its opposite always looks for the path having the most fighting and war.
Jennifer: Chazz you heard about this before?
Tori: Maybe they just want the chaos so they can have full control of everything maybe not war to an extent.
Chazz: Well, I believe that Shizen mentioned it before, didn’t she?
Shizen: That she was a close friend yes and control is a thing fire spirits like. For now, I think I will talk with the civilians and answer any questions they have for me. I should be back when it is time to leave. (Gets up and starts to leave).
Jennifer: We will be here when you come back.
Tori: I’ll be outside to watch from the roofs. (Starts to leave as well).
Kairi: Why are you watching from the roofs, and can I come to?
Tori: Sure, well I just sit on the roofs to help make sure there are not any stranglers.
Kairi: I will help to! (Gets up from her chair and skips happily to Tori).
Jennifer: Be careful and stay close to Tori, no wandering off got it.
Kairi: Do not worry, I promise I will not.
Tori: (Leaves with Kairi to the roof as Shizen talks with citizens as they come up to her. Jennifer rests as well leaning on your shoulder as Kura and Yami relax as well).
Kairi: (Climbs the roofs with Tori and sits as she watches, and her eyes start to stare at him with a slight blush).
Tori: (Looks at the city from the roof). Kairi, may I ask you a question?
Kairi: (Gives a confused and curious look). What is it?
Tori: Do you think this city will shine as well with all its lights or its own energy.
Kairi: (Still looks a little confused but then looks out at the under part of the city which is still fairly dark since the large roots block out the sunlight but with green lights that resemble stars almost around the city). Well, I think it is everyone’s energy who keeps the city lit. Each person has a small light in them but together they shine brightly like the night sky with all its stars. Even the dark spirits can shine in their own way. (Smiles and looks at Tori).
Tori: True, true we can, and I know but not everyone can see these stars or see a light like yours everyday.
Kairi: … But they will if their minds are open… And what do you mean a light like mine?
Tori: (Smiles at Kairi). The light of hope and with the biggest smile I have ever seen.
Kairi: … T-Tori…. (Blushes and smiles at Tori then hugs him and does let go snuggling closer to him a little resting her head on his shoulder).
Tori: (Is shocked but then pets her head). Well, it is only the truth Kairi.
Kairi: But the truth is sweet to hear then…. (Leans on Tori as she looks up at him with a smile and slight blush and resting her head on his shoulder).
Tori: Well, I’m happy it made you happy. (Leans on Kairi a bit as well but still looks out to the city).
Kairi: T-thank you…. (A thought comes into her mind as she blushes and hesitates for a moment before turning her head to quickly kiss Tori on the cheek. She then quickly goes back to resting on his shoulder as she blushes heavily with her head turned so he can not see the blush).
Tori: (iIs shocked but then smiles greatly). … Well then this can’t be one sided now, can it? (Kisses Kairi’s forehead and her cheek and goes back to the position he was before resting his head on hers).
Kairi: (Looks up at Tori being surprised as she continues to blush. She goes back to where she was with a small smile as she enjoys the moment. She then thinks about the kiss on the cheek and forehead placing a hand on her cheek as she closes her eyes and smiles).
Shizen: (About a half hour later she says farewell to the crowd as she heads back seeing Tori and Kairi on a roof and smiles as she says). I would not like to interrupt but the boat should be ready by the time we travel down there so meet us in Hana’s home when you are ready to leave.
Kairi: (Is resting on Tori’s shoulder still seeming to have fallen asleep).
Tori: Yes, we will be done in a moment.
Shizen: Very well, I will make sure the child does not find out though you two are very adorable if I must say so. (She walks towards the house with a smirk on her face).
Tori: (Stays there with Kairi for a bit more).
Jennifer: (She is still resting in the house and leaning on Chazz’s shoulder with Hiki on the other as Hana plays with making some flowers grow as she sits back still recovering and Kura and Yami sit on the floor leaning against the wall as they rest as well).
Shizen: (Enters the room and looks to everyone with a smile as a greeting seeing most are resting so she stays quiet and goes to the bathroom door and knocks). Zahir are you almost done. We are leaving soon; I think as soon as everyone wakes up from their rest.
Zahir: (Walks out with his hair at a short length and his beard shaven fully). So how do I look?
Shizen: (Grins). All cleaned up I see and I’m glad you shaved the beard; it suits you very well and how Ziona remembers you.
Zahir: (Blushes slightly and scratched his cheek). Does it really? I wasn’t sure.
Shizen: Though you never grew out your beard I have to say you do pull it off well but how about let your wife be the deciding factor then.
Zahir: Yeah… Yeah. (Looks down for a second but looks back up at Shizen).
Shizen: (Places her hand on Zahir’s shoulder). Don’t worry I am taking you home no matter what… We will find her, I know it. We can search for clues on the island and perhaps she stayed there. We can not be too sure, but I know she is out there somewhere. I promise to help you every way possible in order to see her again.
Zahir: I know but I just hope she is alright, safe and all those things.
Shizen: And I believe she is but let’s go find out ourselves. (Pats Zahir on the back as they walk into the living room, and everyone looks his way with a smile).
Hana: Wow you clean up well.
Jennifer: Are we leaving soon then? I cannot wait to meet her.
Zahir: As it seems we will be….
Chazz: (Stands by Jennifer and smiles at Zahir).
Jennifer: Great glad to hear it. I am sorry Hiki, but it is time to get up. You can rest on the boat a little once we are in open waters. (Shakes Hiki a little to wake her up).
Yami: Yo Zahir also been meaning to tell ya those scorpion tail things you have are awesome.
Kura: (Sighs) and now you got him into the phase of wanting to fight with a tail as a weapon, thank you for that.
Yami: But it was awesome, and it would be so cool to fight like that.
Zahir: Well… Umm… I don’t think you can… Sorry, I guess?
Hiki: (Wakes up slowly). But master just five more minutes….
Jennifer: Master… Is not the one waking you up… I think most of the time he did though….
Hiki: (Falls right back to sleep).
Shizen: Now no need to spar though you seem to love fighting at a young age Yami. Zahir was very different, he only did so if needed to. He was my little scorpion as I called him especially when he got his first tail and at about your age Yami.
Yami: … That was your nickname from her wasn’t it….
Zahir: (Is silent as he looks down with sigh). Sadly….
Kura: It’s similar to my nickname for Yami being little Yami.
Yami: (Looks at Zahir like he understands the feeling). Man, I know that pain.
Shizen: Oh, come on Ziona thought it was a cute nickname when you two were much younger.
Zahir: She only found it cute because you called your purple flower, so it was a mutual feeling.
Shizen: Well, I thought it was cute so my apologies for giving out cute nicknames.
Jennifer: I think they are cute though.
Zahir: … Now you just gonna make me feel bad.
Shizen: (Laughs). No need to feel bad.
Kairi: (Comes into the house smiling with Tori right behind her). Hi everyone, wow Zahir your beard is gone, and hair is short. It looks cute!
Jennifer: Cute is not the word I think fits that.
Kairi: Oh, sorry umm is it handsome then?
Jennifer: That is a much better compliment for guys.
Kairi: Oh, alright handsome then.
Chazz: Though it does work, it can be quite effective.
Zahir: (Smiles). Why thank you very much Miss Kairi and I know Shizen but still you make a guilt trip so easy.
Shizen: (Grins). Well do not expect me to stop calling you that just because you have grown up.
Chazz: Yes, and since everyone is here are we ready to go?
Kura: We are ready when you are.
Kairi: Yay I cannot wait!
Jennifer: Someone may have to carry Hiki since she is very tired though.
Chazz: I can at least carry her on my back for now. (Sits down by Hiki with his back turned against her). Hiki time for a hug.
Hiki: (Somehow gets on Chazz’s back with ease with the embrace). Yay… A hug… Master so warm….
Jennifer: (Smiles with a slight blush at Chazz and Hiki).
Shizen: Very well shall we go then? Thank you, Hana, for all you have done.
Jennifer: Oh yes thank you very much. (Bows politely).
Hana: Oh, it was no problem really. I just hope that your trip goes well and good luck Zahir. I hope that you visit with Ziona sometime once you are reunited.
Zahir: (Hugs Hana). I promise I will do everything I can and thank you again for everything.
Hana: (Hugs him back). I know you will and it’s no problem. I will do anything to help.
Zahir: Yes, I know you will, and you can stop holding back all your feelings. You do that too often for us.
Hana: (Looks surprised but then smiles as she starts to tear up as she wipes her eyes slightly). Come on now… Don’t say that
Shizen: It is true, you take on so many burdens but do not wish to burden anyone when you are in need of help ever since all of this occured. You can rest now… You have done well.
Hana: But I just want to help especially the poison spirits since they have been through so much… So, I will do everything I can to make their lives easier.
Shizen: But remember to take care of yourself as well.
Zahir: If you don’t take care of yourself it messes with everyone else. We are happy when you are truly happy, not just hiding it away for us. Then we feel bad.
Chazz: To be truthful to yourself to help others is the greatest thing because that way your happiness is there but also for them.
Hana: (Laughs a little). You know me too well Zahir and thank you. I will try to and maybe rest a bit once you leave so I can heal fully and gain my energy back.
Jennifer: That seems like a good idea and have a good rest then.
Kura: Farewell.
Yami: Bye.
Kairi: Thank you for the flowers!
Hana: (Laughs). You’re welcome now get going. Ziona is waiting so get going already. You can’t keep your wife waiting more then she has after all.
Shizen: Farewell Hana, take care of yourself and if you need anything please ask. (Hugs Hana).
Hana: I will. (Hugs back).
Zahir: I’ll be back with Ziona if she doesn’t hit me too hard first for being gone for so long… No, she is too sweet to do that… I expect that more from Nara.
Hana: Knowing her she will probably not let you out of her sight and hold you every moment she can.
Shizen: That is probably true. She always stayed by your side when possible so I don’t see why now would be different.
Zahir: (Sighs). Knowing her she will end up clinging to me like Hiki is to Chazz.
Kairi: (Laughs). It is kind of cute though.
Jennifer: (Looks at Chazz and Hiki thinking she is lucky that she gets to be carried).
Hana: Well, get going now, hurry to her now.
Shizen: Yes, Hana thank you. (Begins to walk out the door as everyone waves back to Hana as they leave).
Chazz: (Carries Hiki out while Tori walks with him).
Kairi: (Looks at Tori wanting to be carried as she walks by his side. She then sees her hand next to his wanting to hold his hand but is not bold enough at the moment as she looks at his hand with a slight blush).
Jennifer: (Walks by Chazz’s other side quitely).
Tori: (Smiles at Kairi and then whispers to her). One day it will be ok.
Kairi: (Looks up being surprised as she blushes then looks down as she continues to blush).
Shizen: (Being a little further ahead of them and walking beside Zahir she smiles and says to herself). They are simply adorable.
Zahir: (Chuckles). They really are, reminds me of Ziona and I.
Shizen: Yes, when feelings were not spoken quite yet, and it took a little convincing for you to confess your feelings. She always thought there would be a better person for you feeling she was not good enough. She then tried to push you away because of it though her heart said something different.
Zahir: Oh, I know, she told me after the wedding. As kids we did get along but one day, she started to pretend she didn’t know and I at the time was crushed because she my childhood friend. I decided to look after her in my own way still, like a guardian.
Shizen: I am glad that you did not let her push you away. You two are meant to be, true mates as us nature spirits calls it.
Zahir: (Smiles). I think so as well.
They walk through the lower city and making it to the upper part many smiling and bowing to Shizen as they pass. The guards let them go through the gate and down a giant root acting like a path that leads down to a dock with many boats. The civilian with the boat takes them to an average sized plain wooden fishing boat.
Jennifer: Well, here we are.
Shizen: Should fit all of us fine.
Kairi: And if we get hungry, we can just go fishing.
Tori: (Laughs and so does Chazz). True, true we could just blast them out with energy.
Jennifer: … I do not think that is how you fish.
Kura: It is effective though but we have packed plenty of food so we can eat once off land and out in open water.
Kairi: Yay and I was getting hungry too.
Chazz: Me as well.
Jennifer: Well, let’s set sail. (Hops onto the boat followed by Shizen, Kura and Yami).
Chazz: (Gets onto the boat as well as Zahir and Tori, being the ones to push the boat out and ready its sail).
Kairi: (Is a little timid to cross the shaky boat but really, she wants Tori to help her on by holding his hand out for her or picking her up so hesitates before she goes on the boat).
Tori: (holds Kairi’s hand as he leads her into the boat and notices the look from Jennifer but keeps going as he gets Kairi into the boat).
Kairi: (Smiles happily with a giggle as she gets on the boat).
Shizen: Are we ready to set sail?
Chazz: (Lies Hiki down on a bench on the boat). I think so now. Everything good over there Zahir?
Zahir: Yes, ready to go.
Jennifer: Good then let us bring you home.
Kairi: Onward to see Ziona! (As she points forwards with a big smile).
Yami: (Hangs over the side a little not liking how the boat is rocking).
Zahir: (Sits at the front of the boat looking onward axiously).
Yami: (Feels a bit better after his sick feeling has passes a little but still leans on the railing).
Jennifer: (As the boat sets sail, she hands food out to everyone from Kura’s bag handing Zahir his portion of food then sits next to him and eats as well). It is not too much but I want to make sure the food lasts a bit. I hope it is enough for now.
Zahir: I will make it work for now.
Jennifer: Good we can have more later though but to pass the time would it be a problem if I asked about your wife? What is she like or what she looks like or maybe a story of her?
Kairi: Ooh I want to hear about her to. What is she like? (Smiles at Zahir as she sits on the other side of him).
Zahir: (Smiles). Well… Gosh where could I begin… Well, she is a bit of an airhead at times and stubborn to a degree though I can sometimes get past that if it’s a good day. Umm she’s very worrying about some things like if something isn’t right, she gets nervous and shy depending on the moment and she is just… Beautiful… When we were kids, we always played together thinking of the weirdest ideas. Like a superhero type game or something like that and we would just play and play it anytime we could. On days I saw her cry I do what I can to see her smile again… Her smile is the kindest and sweetest out there. (He looks up as tears form). The thing that matters the most to me is that she’s happy and smiling. A sad face does not look as suit her and more and more each day…. (Tears start to fall). I can’t help but fall in love with her like when we were kids over and over again. (Zahir haves a big smile). That’s the type of girl Ziona is. A girl that is the weirdest caring, kind girl in my life.
Jennifer: (Has a smile on her face and gets a little teary eyed from it). … Wow… It sounds like you two are truly deeply in love….
Kairi: … It is so cute hearing about it because your bond sounds so strong and it is so sweet…. I cannot wait until you two are together again. (Has a big smile as she looks at Zahir).
Zahir: … As I hope so as well.
Kairi: Well, I know so.
Yami: (Meanwhile he starts to look sick again as he sits next to Kura and Tori close by as he looks down trying to will himself to get better).
Kura: (Looks a little sick as well but not nearly as sick as Yami, closing her eyes as she focuses on other things to lessen it).
Chazz: Uh oh I think these two are seasick.
Kura: I am fine, I will get used to it.
Yami: Yeah, no prob-. (Just then he suddenly stands and leans over the railing as he loses his lunch he had eaten not to long ago).
Tori: And there goes the food.
Kura: He wasted the food… No more until your stomach can hold it.
Yami: (Still hangs over the side). Uhh… Shut u-. (Loses his stomach again).
Tori: (Sighs shaking his head). This is going to be a long boat ride.
Kura: Especially for him.
Yami: (Wipes his mouth and sits back down). Tori I need some darkness, I guess won’t absorb much. (Absorbs a little darkness from around him as he closes his eyes and as he does so some of the color returns to his skin not looking as sick). … Better.
Kura: That always does make you feel better. You must be low on energy.
Yami: Nah I’m managing.
Tori: Yes, but don’t take too much.
Yami: Yeah, yeah that’s the plan.
Kura: (Gives a small mischievous smirk). He can’t harm the one he looks up to no, can he?
Yami: Wah! Sis don’t embarrass me it’s not cool and not true at all!
Tori: (Chuckles as he rubs his nose). I wouldn’t be surprised. I am pretty cool.
Kura: Such an ego now.
Yami: Hey not cool I didn’t say anything! (Stands looking annoyed and ready to fight). Besides I’ll fight you again bring I-! (Just then his stomach gives out again and he leans on the railing once again).
Tori: (Laughs). Sorry, sorry couldn’t help it.
Kura: (Laughs as well). He would do no good battling at sea I believe.
Yami: Shut… It.
Chazz: So, a water spirit fight would be disastrous for him then.
Kura: Perhaps if he was off that boat, it would be better though Yami did you ever learn to swim?
Yami: (Sits back down where he was before and leans back). Umm I guess, it can’t be that hard right?
Chazz: Umm it can be hard if you don’t try.
Yami: Ehh why not, I’ll try it. (Stands back up and jump overboard but quickly has trouble as he splashes around trying to stay above the water). Ahh can’t-.
Kura: (Sighs as she facepalms). Idiot overboard, who’s jumping in to save him?
Shizen: (Laughs a little at the whole situation).
Jennifer: (Turns around looking confused to what’s happening and so does Kairi). What is happening over there guys?
Tori: (Goes in and gets Yami back on board). This idiot tries to learn to swim right away in sea.
Yami: Ehh… I’ll figure… It out. (Is out of it coughing up water).
Kairi: Is he alright?
Kura: Yes, though still an idiot.
Yami: Shut… It.
Jennifer: I hope we have spare clothes for you two.
Kairi: I packed some for everyone I think and then I brought even more just in case.
Tori: (Sits down for a second since energy is being taken by Yami). Thanks Kairi I’ll go change in a little bit.
Yami: (Sits back down as he catches his breath).
Kura: (Sighs). What am I going to do with you?
Yami: Hey….
Kairi: Are you alright Tori… You look tired. (Comes by Tori looking concerned).
Tori: I should be fine… Just a bit tired. I may rest for a bit.
Kairi: (Sits right next to Tori and gives him a bit energy as she sits beside him).
Jennifer: (Smiles and sits facing the front of the boat like before as Shizen takes over steering the boat).
Zahir: (Is there as well just relaxing).
Tori: (Falls asleep leaning against Kairi like he had done on the roof).
Kairi: (Smiles and rests a little as well then notices her hand is close to his and blushes slightly as she leans against him but not sure of if she should).
Tori: (Slips off Kairi’s head into her lap).
Kairi: (Is surprised but then smiles as she holds his head in her lap and rests as well enjoying the moment as she pets his hair).
Tori: (Sleeps as well as Hiki though she is holding Chazz’s hand and he can’t really get out of it as Jennifer stares at them for a moment looking a little upset).
Zahir: Are you alright Jenny?
Jennifer: … Huh oh yeah, I am fine…. (Gives a reassuring smile but it is easy to tell something is wrong).
Zahir: Are you sure, you may say you are, but you are not in reality. Just like Ziona, she does the same quite often.
Jennifer: (Laughs a little). I guess you are right… I guess to sum it up there is one I love but I do not think I can tell him…. (Looks down not sure why she is opening up like this). I do not want to push my feelings onto him and make him feel pressured.
Zahir: (Chuckles). Yup just like Ziona.
Jennifer: Hey… I guess so and… Well, the reason I am holding back is that another loves him just as much and I do not want their heart to break… I will be happy for her… She is great and a great friend.
Zahir: I see yet you want your own feelings to reach him. Yet you are not sure how since romance is not your greatest thing in expressing.
Jennifer: I guess so, she already told him her feeling and I don’t want him to feel pressured into anything… I just want them to be happy as all. (Looks at Chazz and Hiki with a small smile).
Zahir: Yet you want to be the girl that takes him and keeps for herself. You want show that you love him more than anything. You are crying on the inside when you think of someone else taking him away from you. The idea of his attention being on someone else and not you.
Jennifer: (Put her hands on her face as she looks down at the water and get teary eyed). I do not want to be selfish though… We both care for him very much and I just do not know what to do.
Zahir: It’s sometimes ok to be selfish but shouldn’t it be up to him and not you?
Jennifer: Yes, though he has problem with that type of stuff. I will wait for him as long as he needs since he is a bit clueless, but I swear if he tries to choose both I’m kicking him. (Laughs a little).
Zahir: As long as I get invited to the wedding, I’m happy.
Jennifer: W-wedding! (Becomes flustered as she stutters with a deep blush).
Zahir: (Chuckles with a shrug). Just saying.
Jennifer: (Continues to blush heavily being flustered by the thought).
Kairi: (Looks down at Tori who still sleeps in her lap with a smile and slight blush as she brushes hair away from his face).
Zahir: (Laughs). Love is an interesting thing after all. At first you are not sure how to feel.
Jennifer: I guess so, but I am sure it will be figured out some day. (Looks up and smiles).
Zahir: Yes… Yes, it will since you can’t rush love or make it slow down. When it happens you just got to hang on to it like there is no tomorrow. (Gives one more reassuring smile and nod before he gets up and helps Shizen with the directions from memory).
On an island not to far away a woman with long dark purple hair being straight but a bit messy and lavender eyes. She wears a simple but worn purple dress as she waits just like every other day.
Ziona: (Wakes up like any other morning but this time in her rocking chair since she had fallen asleep there finding it more comfortable and with her hands on her large stomach. Once awake she looks at the sky through the window and tears up a little). Good morning, Zahir… I hope you slept well. (She then goes about her morning routine checking on the small garden she has been growing and has breakfast. She does her chores for that morning as she hums to herself and folds laundry as she sits not able to stand long without feeling tired. She then hears a knock on the door being surprised for a moment but goes to answer the door as she opens it slightly to peek at who it is). H-hello who is it?
Raku: (There is a mans face at the door she realizes easily the man having medium length black hair and not much of a beard with dark purple eyes and a kind smile). Hey Ziona, it’s me Raku. How are you doing?
Ziona: (Opens the door fully with a smile). Oh, Raku how are you? Do you need anything… Oh umm I made some more medicine if anyone down in the village is sick?
Raku: No, I just came to check up on my favorite person.
Ziona: (Blushes slightly). Oh well I would think your wife would be your favorite person and I am fine. Just another day I suppose. (Looks down a little).
Raku: (Panics for a second). Oh, come on now, don’t look like that.
Ziona: (Smiles a little to reassure Raku). Oh, don’t worry… It has been a long time… Around 90 years… But he’s coming back… I won’t lose hope….
Raku: Well, acting all gloomy won’t help anything now, will it?
Ziona: … I’m just scared… Our little one is going to be here any day now… And I want him by my side as that happens… I’m scared…. (Places her hands on her very large stomach as she looks down at it).
Raku: Well, I don’t think either would be happy if their favorite lady was upset and sad so cheer up or I will drag you to town to have a happy time.
Ziona: (Blushes more). I-I don’t want people to see me like this. (Points to her stomach feeling a little insecure). And I’m fine really.
Raku: Are you sure hmm? Don’t lie to me Ziona, I have known you for a long time now.
Ziona: I-I’m sure I mean I don’t think I have been there since I was able to see my own feet and able to hide it… I don’t want them to know or worry about me.
Raku: (Thinks for a second but sighs in defeat). Fine if your sure but call me when you me need me and do you want a medic to come check on you?
Ziona: I don’t think so since I am the closest one to a medic here and I can take the medicine I make if anything. I am scared about when that time comes, and I finally say hello to him or her… I’m just scared.
Raku: (Hugs Ziona). But you will be fine because you have been so far. You may cry in your sleep or in your mind and put up that smile you try to keep up just like right now.
Ziona: I-I… Feel like part of my heart left when he left… I feel so alone without him… I miss him so much… But how would he react to our little one whether in or out of my stomach when he comes back… He didn’t know I was… And I didn’t know… Will he want to be a parent…? (As she cries into the hug).
Raku: (Pets Ziona’s hair as he hugs her). I’m sure he misses you more than anything else in the world. Hell, he may feel dead without you because remember how long he kept watching over you and loving you. I’m sure he will be happy with you no matter what and I’m sure he will be awkward about it at first but will accept it.
Ziona: I-I hope so… I can’t give up… He’s coming back… But at least I have something that will always remind me of him…. (Places her hand on her stomach with a small smile as she thinks out loud). I just need to pick out a name. I’m still not sure.
Raku: Well, you will come up with one later.
Ziona: I hope so, what do you think? Can give me a suggestion at least or maybe ask your wife to when you get home. It would help a lot.
Raku: (Thinks while scratching his head). I can’t think of anything at the moment. I’ll ask the misses later.
Ziona: (Laughs a little). Fine then at least guess if it will be a boy or girl. We can even place bets with the few that know since Nara likes those types of things.
Raku: (After a pause he smiles being sure of his guess). Hmm girl.
Ziona: Really… I think boy maybe… Or girl or umm I’m not sure this is hard… But I’m happy with either really and will love him or her no matter what. (Smiles at her stomach as she holds it then winces a little).
Raku: And I’m sure Zahir would be happy as well.
Ziona: (Still smiles as she gets teary eyed). I think he or she will be just like Zahir… Maybe even have his powers and even act like him a little.
Raku: (Realizes what he said and hits himself over the head). Umm I’m sorry but I don’t think they would have the same powers.
Ziona: Oh, it’s alright, and I was just imaging a little baby with a scorpion tail that would be so cute. (Smiles but winces again and grabs her stomach as she whines a little). Stop kicking me.
Raku: (Holds his hand out to try and help in concern and slight panic). Are you alright?
Ziona: Yes, just a very strong kick… They have become much stronger and more often. You can feel it if you want to.
Raku: Umm no thank you but thanks anyways.
Ziona: Alright then but maybe one day your wife will have one and we can have a little play date for them.
Raku: (Laughs). Yeah, don’t remind me about kids just yet. I’m not sure if I could handle all that.
Ziona: (Laughs as well). I think you would make a great father one day, but also do you want to bring medicine down to the village? I made it even better than the last and it will keep everyone stay healthy for the week if they share.
Raku: Sure, I can do that, better to be safe than sorry.
Ziona: Of course. (Walks to her kitchen grabbing a basket filled with glass vials of herbs and medicine that are labeled for what they are used for and walks back handing the basket to Raku). Here you go, remember to return the vials since it is hard to find new ones.
Raku: (Takes the basket and nods his head as he readies to leave). Bye Ziona, I’ll visit again later.
Ziona: (Is teary eyed but with a smile). Goodbye… I won’t lose hope… No matter what… He’s coming home….
Raku: (Losses his smile as he gets teary eyed as well as he walks away).
Ziona: (Closes the door but once in her smile turns into a frown as tears start to fall and she slides to sit leaning on the door as she cries and whispers). I… Won’t lose… Hope… Just please let it be soon… I’m scared…. (After about ten minutes she slowly stands but feels low on energy. This has become a common thing as she sits at the small simple wooden table next to the kitchen as she cries leaning back on the chair as she slowly drifts off to sleep being around lunch. She does not wake until afternoon but saying before she sleeps). Won’t… Lose hope.
Meanwhile Zahir and everyone else leave the boat at the shore of the island as they walk up a small hill on the islands shore.
Yami: (Crawls onto the land and lays on the shore being thankful). Land… Finally….
Shizen: Yes, let’s start looking. Zahir, do you remember your way around?
Zahir: (Looks around, it all coming back to him slowly as he does so). I think so… Let me get a look around.
Jennifer: Alright we will follow you.
Kairi: And I will look for Ziona.
Jennifer: Umm we don’t even know what she looks like, and she wouldn’t be out on the shore like this.
Shizen: She has dark purple hair and lavender, light purple looking eyes.
Zahir: Yes… Her eyes are so rare to be so light for a poison spirit… It’s beautiful….
Kairi: I cannot wait to meet her.
Jennifer: I do not think Zahir can most of all so let us focus on that.
Zahir: (Blushes).
Shizen: (Laughs). That is true by far so lead the way so we may find her before we lose daylight. (Says as she looks at the sun that is an hour or two away from setting).
Zahir: Hopefully…. (As he looks at the sunset).
Kairi: Well, come on then, let’s get going! (Runs off ahead again to try and help look faster).
Jennifer: Kairi wait! Not again!
Zahir: We need to catch her fast. If someone from the village sees her, we may be in big trouble.
Tori: (Starts to give chase as soon as Zahir says that).
Jennifer: (Runs as well and so do the others). Why would she be in trouble?
Zahir: Well because of hunters. Remember when I said I don’t trust anyone no matter how they look? Well, the village has the same idea.
Chazz: Let’s go! Lady Kairi!
Shizen: Hopefully we can catch her, but we need to stay together. (A stream of 3 lights past everyone, it’s Chazz and Hiki and Tori chasing Kairi).
Kairi: (Speeds along having a head start but runs into some bushes making it hard to see where she is going for a moment with plant life surrounding her. She then stumbles and trips into a clearing, the plant life hiding a small village and runs into a man walking into the village with a basket full of herbs and plants that causes both of them to fall over).
????: Oww….
Kairi: Oww I ran to fast again…. (Grabs her head as she sits up then realizes she ran into someone). Oh, sorry mister are you alright?
????: (Has his eyes shut at the moment). Yeah, I guess so but you gotta watch where you’re going lady. (His eyes open). Wait… Who are you…? I don’t remember ever seeing you in the village.
Kairi: Oh I came on a boat looking for a village and a person… Wait you’re a person so did I find it oh umm nice to meet you. (Stands up and offers her hand to help him up as well).
????: (Draws his spear towards Kairi’s neck as he is on the ground looking at her suspicious and warily). I’m afraid the feeling isn’t mutual.
Kairi: (Screams a little being shocked). no another scary person! (Backs up but stumbles and falls back and quickly sets up a barrier holding her hands out like last time). D-don’t hurt me.
???: I’m afraid I can’t trust someone who said they came here on a boat and are looking for someone.
Kairi: Yes, she lives in the village I think, or I hope at least. Another is looking for the poison spirits I think since they’re in hiding, and I am helping… But I guess I ran off again.
????: (Sighs). You’re not really helping your case at the moment.
Kairi: (Gives a confused look). But why? I just want to help. (Stands up slowly and dusts herself off).
????: (The spear goes closer to Kairi’s neck).
Kairi: (Is surprised but stays perfectly still with her hands at her side as she calms her breathing and making herself calm down this time). Please mister… I am not going to hurt anyone, ask me anything… I will not lie or do anything bad… I promise.
????: (The spear retracts, and he sighs). Fine I’ll believe you for now but who are you looking for and why?
Kairi: (Smiles and bows). My name is Kairi and were looking for someone so we can reunite them with another in our group. It can be like a happily ever after ending and it will be so sweet! (She says this excitedly).
????: (Sighs again and then thinks for a second). Wait… Is the person you’re looking for named… Ziona?
Kairi: (Smiles brightly being even more excited as she jumps a little). Yes, that is her! Wait you know her?
????: Yes, I do, she lives up the path behind me.
Kairi: (Says still excitedly with a big smile). That is perfect! I cannot wait to tell him! He will be so happy and so will Shizen and-.
Chazz: (Suddenly appears with a sword the man’s back as well as Hiki and Tori behind Kairi). Are you alright lady Kairi?
Kairi: Wait do not hurt him! (Lunges and pulls the man away and behind her a little bit protectivly).
Chazz: (Is confused for a second as Zahir and everyone else catches up).
Zahir: You three run off too easily now, don’t you?
????: (Is stunned by the voice he is hearing for a second making him speachless).
Jennifer: (Catches my breath as Kura and Yami run to Kairi’s side). Never… Run off… Again.
Shizen: But Kairi it looks like you have found a poison spirit and the village good work… (Looks at the mans face and instantly pauses recognizing it getting a small grin with a whisper to herself). … Raku….
Kairi: Oh yes, he was a little scary at first but now he is good. (Looks back at the man then becomes concerned because of the look he has). Hi mister, are you alright?
????: (He looks directly at Zahir). … Zahir… Zahir is that you?
Zahir: (Recognizing the voice he is hearing instantly he takes a second to recollect himself). Raku… Raku one of the people who helped get away… But also, my friend. (Looks up and is teary eyed as he stares at one of his greatest friends). I’m back buddy.
Raku: (Leaves Kairi’s side as he walks to Zahir. When he gets there the tears in his eyes are visible, but he also punches Zahir’s arm). Why are you talking to me…? And not the girl who’s been waiting for you.
Zahir: (Holds his arm). Oww could hold back a little.
Raku: (Chuckles a little bit). Not a chance.
Zahir: (Laughs as well still being teary eyed). Where’s Ziona, Is she still here Raku…? Is she alright?
Raku: (Is still kind of of out of it). Why not go look the same place you left her still… At home waiting and waiting.
Zahir: (Shakes his head yes and bolts off right after realizing the place Raku was talking about).
Raku: Idiot go talk to your wife first…. (As tears are going down his face).
Shizen: (Places a hand on Raku’s shoulder as she gets teary eyed). Thank you, Raku, you probably have watched over her… Let’s give them a bit to reconnect. (Everyone nods as Jennifer and Kairi get teary eyed as well).
Zahir: (Is running up the path to Ziona. He is only thinking about her with tears falling from his eyes. He reaches the door and hesitates for a second).
Ziona: (Sleeps lightly though is close to waking up having a dream about being with Zahir as she tears up a little looking up as she says). I… Miss you.
Zahir: (Hears Ziona’s voice and starts to panic as he opens the door with his key having kept his safe this whole time to keep determined to come back home with).
Ziona: (Hears the door open being scared by it and hides behind the chair a little. She peeks out behind the chair and her eyes widen as that moment freezes for her. She tries to figure out if she is dreaming again or not). … Z… Z-Zahir?
Zahir: (Looks at Ziona also frozen in the moment as he smiles finally seeing her at long last). I’m… I’m home.
Ziona: (Stands slowly and hesitantly walk over still not sure if it is a dream or not. She reaches out her hand and placing it on his cheek as she looks into his eyes. Tears start to fall knowing it’s real struggling to say a words as she cries letting out all the built-up emotions over the long time). It’s… Really you…?
Zahir: (Holds Ziona’s hand). Yes… It’s really me Ziona.
Ziona: I… Knew you… Would come back… I never lost hope. (Continues to cry as she hugs him tightly not letting go for anything. Her stomach makes it difficult to hold him as much as she wants to but she is not concerned with it at the moment).
Zahir: (Holds Ziona as well noticing the stomach but ignoring it for now as he has his hand in her hair and on her back as he embraces her).
Ziona: (She’s missed being in Zahir’s arm since it calms her the most of all but still cries into his shirt fearing that if she would let go, he would disappear like at the end of her dreams).
Zahir: I… Ziona… I missed you… So much… My heart had… Had a hole in it, I couldn’t close it… It tore me apart each day….
Ziona: (She looks up at Zahir and smiles with tears still flowing from her eyes). It… Felt like you took half of my heart… And I couldn’t help but feel alone without you… Please don’t go again… I missed you so much. (Cries more as she looks up at him).
Zahir: (Pets Ziona’s head). I don’t plan on going anywhere without you.
Ziona: (Tears continue as she looks at Zahir and how much he looks like he has changed yet still is the same person inside that she falls in love with over and over again each time. She looks at him as she looks into his eyes and reaches her hand up to placing her hand on his cheek again). Welcome… Welcome home….
Zahir: (Holds Ziona’s cheek and kisses her lips). Oh, how I missed the feeling of embracing the one I love the most.
Ziona: (Returns the kiss). You are never leaving me again… I’m not letting go no matter what…. (Hold him as tight as possible but her stomach makes it hard to as she remembers that she should be careful and leans to the side a little to make it more comfortable).
Zahir: (Kisses Ziona again). I wouldn’t dream of leaving you again.
Ziona: Good because I will drag you back myself if I must. (Kisses Zahir back filling the kiss with all the love she has for him).
Zahir: (Holds her now and wishes the moment would last but remembers her stomach). Before I get all lovey dovey with you again is that a new member to this family?
Ziona: Huh…? (Looks down at her stomach realising what Zahir’s saying and starts to blush as she places her hands on her stomach playing with her hands a little bit as she becomes flustered). Well, I umm….
Zahir: (Looks at Ziona with a questioning look like asking “why are you acting like this”).
Ziona: (Blushes more since embarrassed and not sure how Zahir would react to being an almost parent so suddenly when getting home not able to handle things like this well and becoming more flustered because of it).
Zahir: (Hugs Ziona). The only thing I want to know is it mine or is it someone else’s… That all I want to know… Ziona please….
Ziona: (Looks up at him with a big smile as tears starts to fall heavily again. She nods yes with a big smile as she blushes still).
Zahir: (Begins to cry again as he smiles greatly at Ziona and falls to his knees).
Ziona: (Continues to smile just as much as him knowing now that Zahir’s happy about it as she hesitantly takes his hands and place them on her stomach).
Zahir: A big stomach for a small girl like you…. (His smile somehow gets bigger). It makes no sense…. (He chuckles as he gets tearier eyed). Oh, a kick as well.
Ziona: Don’t say I’m big not nice…. (Pouts a little but then giggles). And it kicks a lot but maybe just saying hello to you.
Zahir: (Laughs). That is probably true, but it has its mother to keep company now, doesn’t it?
Ziona: (Looks at Zahir with a big smile still). But I hope more like the father since he’s so strong and caring.
Zahir: Or could be as beautiful and sweet like their mother.
Ziona: (Blushes again but still smiles). No matter what I will love him or her as much as I love you.
Zahir: As I will do the same with my love.
Ziona: I’m so happy you are not upset about it and that you like your surprise… I’m just happy you got here before the little one got here… I was so scared.
Zahir’: Well, I would only be upset if it wasn’t mine since it would feel like you moved on from me and I’m happy as well… What father would miss the birth of his child.
Ziona: I would never do that, you know that… It will be anytime now… I’m a little nervous about it still… But as long as you’re there I know I can do it… Just any day now.
Zahir: (Smiles). I know but the thought wouldn’t leave my mind and I am so sorry for that… I’m happy I made it in time.
Ziona: It is alright, we can be a happy family… All of us together now. (Holds Zahir close to her but since he is on his knees holding him to her stomach where he can hear a faint heartbeat and a few kicks as well).
Zahir: I couldn’t ask for anything more…. (Stands up and hides his face into Ziona’s shoulder). Feeling alone is miserable and feeling regret is worse… The only thing I don’t regret is falling in love with every step of the way.
Ziona: (Starts to tear up again as she holds Zahir tightly). I felt alone to but now we can be together again…. (Notices some of the bruises on Zahir’s arms and tears fall again). Zahir… Y-you got hurt… I’m so sorry… You went through so much….
Zahir: (Chuckles but with tears still). I have some scars too, but I endured it all… Just to see you again since you were my light and my hope so kept fighting and I would do it all again.
Ziona: (Cries more as she holds Zahir). I won’t let you ever get hurt again… Were staying together from now on… You don’t have to fight anymore.
Zahir: (Is silent for a moment as he puts his arms around Ziona). I will only fight to protect you from now on.
Ziona: (Nods and pulls away a little so that she can see Zahir’s face as she smiles). I’m so happy your back and so glad that you like your little surprise. (Looks down at her stomach for a moment then back to Zahir with a big smile).
Zahir: (Kisses Ziona suddenly with all the love that was held down within him to show true passion to his wife).
Ziona: (Kisses Zahir back with the same amount of passion as him with her arms around his neck as she holds him close).
Zahir: (Continues kissing his wife with passion not wanting to pull away for as long as possible).
Ziona: (Continues to kiss her husband until she is out of breath. She then takes a breath and kisses Zahir more after that not wanting to end that moment either).
Zahir: (After a few moments he stops the kiss). Oh, I missed that too.
Ziona: (Looks into Zahir’s eyes as she catches her breath). As… Did I….
Zahir: (Laughs). I still love you my dear…. (As he looks into Ziona’s eyes).
Ziona: And will always love you as well…. (Looks at Zahir with a look filled with love and passion).
Zahir: (Amiles as he hugs Ziona close).
Ziona: (Holds Zahir too as she kisses him again then looks over his shoulder seeing Raku and everyone else watching from a little up the path and begins blushing and hides her face in Zahir’s shoulder).
Shizen: (Has a big smile like Jennifer and Kairi do as well as she tears up as she watches them).
Zahir: (Realizes everyone is watching as well and chuckles). Oh yeah, I brought some friends.
Ziona: Shizen’s there… Did she help? (As she still tries to hide).
Zahir: Of course, she did though a couple of hours ago I just met her again.
Ziona: I’m very thankful but…. (Blushes a lot as she tries to hide her stomach since Zahir is in front and facing her). I-I don’t want to be seen like this….
Zahir: (Has a questioning look on his face).
Ziona: I-I umm ever since I couldn’t hide my stomach, I have been in my home… Only Raku and his wife Nara know… I don’t want to be seen… I-I didn’t want to bother anyone with it…. I didn’t want to be a burden.
Zahir: No, you’re not… Even if you were a burden, I would think you are a burden worth having.
Ziona: (Blushes as she tears up). I missed you so much.
Zahir: As did I my dear.
Zahir (Starts to wipe her tears away as she still hides). And who are the others… Are they friends of Shizen?
Zahir: They friends of Shizen and helped me along as well.
Ziona: Well, if they need a place to stay tonight, I am inviting them to stay if that is alright… Because of them you are here… And because of that I owe them so much… We only have one spare room and the baby room so I guess they can stay in there too. (As she still tries to hide her stomach a little still).
Zahir: Well, I think they can make it work but alright I’ll let them know… Are you going to be alright?
Ziona: Well, I umm…. (Stumbles as she hides behind Zahir and tries to hide her whole stomach behind him more, so no one sees as she blushes flusteredly).
Zahir: (Holds Ziona close to comfort her).
Ziona: (Calms down as he holds her). Alright but I don’t want you to go over without me… I’m scared that if I let go, you’ll go away like in my dreams. (Starts tear up and look down again).
Zahir: Hey, hey no more crying. (Wipes the tears away). But I was planning to be next to you all of my days anyways.
Ziona: (Nods as she hugs him close). Now and forever… And do they have to see my stomach…. (Becomes embarrassed as she blushes deeply).
Zahir: Well, that is up to you my dear.
Ziona: (Nods). Well Raku knows… He found out when I started hiding from everyone… He pushed the door open when I peaked out… He even brings me food and supplies almost every day even though I never asked him to… He and his wife took care of me…Oh umm he got married 30 years after you left but you still were the best man.
Zahir: (Laughs a bit). Sounds just like him to do something like that.
Ziona: (Giggles a little). He even had a statue of you made from plants beside him… But he did take care of me the whole time you were gone, and I became the doctor of the village or umm I made the medicine anyway. Raku took it to the village for me also because it is kind of was getting hard hard to stand and walk a long time… I haven’t even seen my feet in 20 years I think….
Zahir: (Hugs Ziona). Well now I will be helping you out… I admit I’m jealous Raku was the one helping you all that time now.
Ziona: (Hugs Zahir back). I’m sorry… And you’re the only one I will ever have this with… But might want to say thank you to Raku and Nara for watching over me.
Zahir: I love you too and I will but later.
Ziona: (Hold onto Zahir’s arm tightly as she hides still but peaks out at everyone). A-alright… I’m ready to meet them.
Zahir: (Smiles at Ziona reassuringly). Let’s get going then.
Ziona: (Nods as she walks right behind him out to the group of people as she peeks out).
Shizen: (Grins as she nods her greeting). Hello Ziona, it is nice to know that you and everyone on this island is safe.
Ziona: T-thank you for bringing him home.
Shizen: It is the least I could do.
Hiki: (Stands by Raku). Wow she is very pretty.
Raku: Yeah, in the past I use to have a crush on her, but Zahir cared for her more, so I backed off. It just took me a while to realize those things.
Hiki: Are you with someone else now mister? (Puts her finger in her mouth in a questioning look).
Raku: Yes, I’m married right now.
Hiki: That’s great!
Jennifer: (Laughs a little). Well, it is nice to meet you too.
Kairi: Wow you are very pretty and your so cute together!
Ziona: I-I umm thank you…. (Blushes heavily).
Shizen: There’s no need to hide Ziona.
Ziona: Well, I umm….
Shizen: Come on why are you hiding so much?
Ziona: (Hides more behind Zahir’s back as she blushes even more).
Shizen: (Laughs). Shy as ever I see, if not more.
Zahir: (Laughs a little bit as well). Yeah, she is but I still love it.
Shizen: Indeed, but it’s alright to come out.
Ziona: (She looks at Zahir not being sure of what to do).

Shizen: (Looks interested in what she is hiding as everyone else looks confused).
Ziona: (Takes a shaky breath as she continues to hold onto Zahir’s arm as she hesitantly steps out. Everyone sees her fully as she blushes greatly, everyone looks shocked as they see her very large stomach).
Kairi: (Looks shocked as well but then excited). Woah!
Yami: (Gives a confused look not understanding it right away). … Did she get fat or something?
Kura: (Smacks Yami on the back of the head hard). Very rude, please ignore him and I apologize for him.
Yami: (Grabs his head). Ow what gives!
Shizen: (Has a big pridful grin as she sees Ziona).
Hiki: (Does the same to Yami that Kura had done). Ohh that’s why she was hiding so much.
Ziona: (Stand their and still blushes uncontrollably still unable to say a word as she clings to Zahir).
Shizen: (Laughs and still has a big smile). I guess you two are making me a grandparent then.
Zahir: Well in truth I just found this out a moment ago, so I guess so. (Scratches his cheek sheepishly).
Shizen: Well then not much time to let that sink in. How do you feel about being a soon to be father Zahir?
Kairi: (Still is excited as she giggles). Yay there’s going to be a baby!
Zahir: (Keeps scratching his cheek nervously). I guess I could be excited but at the same nervous….
Ziona: I-I am to but as long as you are with me, I know I will be alright…. (Looks up at Zahir with a smile).
Jennifer: Wait didn’t you say you were apart 90 years… How is that possible?
Shizen: Spirits take much longer to be born.
Jennifer: How long does it take?
Shizen: Hmm around 90 years to 100 years is the average… It is different in rare special cases.
Jennifer: (Her eyes widen in shock). … 90 years?
Kairi: Wow that’s so long.
Ziona: I-it feels like it.
Shizen: Remember spirits have very long-life spans if not infinite time when it comes to just the matter of age. (Thinks to herself). Come to think of it I do not think a spirit has ever died of old age… It makes us somewhat immortal.
Hiki: (She and all the other spirits think about it as well). I can’t recall that either.
Tori: Though I do know they can by natural causes.
Zahir and Raku: (Nod to agree with Tori’s statement).
Shizen: Yes, we may not age after becoming adults but that does not mean we can’t be killed by other causes. Even children tend to take a long time to grow up but how long depends on the child.
Jennifer: Wow really…? (Still is amazed by the information).
Kairi: Ooh I wonder if the baby’s a boy or girl.
Ziona: I’m umm not sure…. (Looks at Zahir). Umm what do you think?
Zahir: Maybe a girl. (Thinks to himself still not being sure).
Ziona: (Thinks as well but then smiles). Sounds nice but either way I will love him or her no matter what. (Places her hands on her stomach as she smiles down at it).
Jennifer and Kairi: Daw that’s so sweet.
Hiki: (Goes over by Chazz). Master, can I have a baby as well?
Chazz: (Gets all flustered). U-umm umm….
Jennifer: (Starts to blush flusterdly as she looks at Chazz and Hiki).
Kairi: Ooh I want one too! How do you get one? (Looks up at Tori).
Jennifer: (Looks in shock and am unable to move as Shizen bursts into laughter).
Tori: (Has the same reaction as Chazz but more scared because of Jennifer).
Jennifer: (Still is frozen in shock but then faints from it).
Kura: (Facepalms and shakes her head as Yami just shrugs).
Hiki: Miss Kairi there is a special way to do things to get that happen.
Kairi: (Tilts her head in confusion). Like what?
Kura: … Umm perhaps now is not the time.
Ziona: (Looks up at Zahir). T-their an odd group I think… It must have been a fun trip with them.
Zahir: (Thinks for a moment then smiles). Yes, it was and still is even better now with you.
Hiki: (Giggles). Don’t worry Kairi, you will see one day no worries.
Tori: (Sighs shaking his head at Hiki).
Ziona: (Blushes and holds Zahir’s arm to get him closer to her).
Kairi: Well, I guess I will figure it out later. (Looks at Raku). Oh, a mister umm thank you for believing me when I first saw you.
Shizen: (Laugh). Though Kairi is the kind of person who I believe is easy to trust when first meeting.
Raku: (Chuckles). Well after a bit she was acting way too innocent, but she stopped me from getting stabbed. If she were a hunter, she wouldn’t have stopped it.
Kairi: (Gives a confused look). Why would I let you get stabbed? That is not nice.
Shizen: The way we found Zahir is that men were attacking Kairi in an ally. Zahir jumped in and saved her.
Yami: But I found him first!
Kura: And he almost killed you because you are an idiot.
Yami: Hey!
Zahir: Umm yeah sorry about that, was just being cautious really.
Chazz: (Chuckle a bit). Maybe a bit too cautious though you had a good reason for why.
Zahir: (Scratches his head). Yes, I guess so.
Yami: Well still not cool. (Pouts grumpily).
Jennifer: (Wakes from her fainting). Huh… What happened?
Hiki: Ohh nothing just talked about Zahir, Ziona, and babies.
Jennifer: Oh… Right. (Glares at Tori with a warning stare once remembering).
Ziona: Umm as a thank you would you like to stay with us for a day or too… Our house isn’t too big, but it has a spare room, and some can stay in the baby room for now.
Shizen: Thank you for your offer, Ziona. It sounds fine to me, what does everyone else think?
Kairi: I want to see the baby!
Ziona: B-but I don’t know when I’m due… I only said any day because I’m a little past my due date… I’m not sure because spirits grow slowly so it could be anywhere from today to a few months if I’m really really late….
Hiki: (Looks at Shizen). You can make a cabin that could fit us right Shizen?
Chazz: (Talks to Ziona with a bow in saying thank you). Well, we can make something work out and yes, we accept your offer. Would be rude if we did not, thank you.
Shizen: Yes, I could make a cabin, but I need permission first I would think. (Looks at Ziona, Zahir, and Raku to see if it is fine with them).
Ziona: (Just nods still being a little shy about the idea).
Raku: Well, some people will be confused but I can explain everything to them so there shouldn’t be a problem.
Zahir: (Looks at Ziona then Shizen). We can have some still in the house while the rest stay in the cabin so that way no one is crammed together.
Jennifer: How about men stay in one area and women the other or grouped by spirits with their contractors or something like it but just evened out.
Hiki: I want to be with master.
Tori: I don’t mind, wherever.
Kura: I will stay by Yami.
Yami: (Shrugs). Doesn’t matter to me.
Kairi: Ooh can I go with Tori?
Jennifer: No! (Says sternly and seriously).
Kairi: (Poutys cutly). Aww why not?
Hiki: (Laughs). It is fine Kairi, no worries but where would we be sleeping master?
Chazz: (Pauses in thought). Maybe in the cabin since there are three of us.
Shizen: Very well I and the child can take the spare room.
Kura: Very well I am fine with sleeping wherever.
Yami: I’ll go in the woods or something so I can absorb some energy.
Kura: You could come back and sleep in the baby room.
Yami: I am not a baby! (Yells being upset and grumpy by the comment as he crosses his arms and pouts).
Zahir: (Chuckles a little bit). Well, wherever everyone wants to sleep that is fine with me. Is it with you honey? (Stares at Ziona with a slight blush).
Hiki: Daw so cute.
Ziona: (Smiles as she blushes and nods to Zahir happily and blushes more as Hiki says daw to them becoming embarrassed and changing topic being flustered). O-oh umm there’s a trail leading to a hot spring that the villagers use as baths. One for men and one for woman if you would like touse that during your stay.
Jennifer: (Blushes slightly). I umm think I will wait until everyone is done using it.
Ziona: (Blushes a little). Oh, umm I found a small secret small one I didn’t tell anyone about… You can use it… I didn’t want anyone to see me…. (Blushes more as she looks down).
Hiki: (Becomes interested). Oh, there is? I have not taken a bath in a while, sounds really nice right now.
Ziona: I-it’s really nice and warm so I guess if you want to….
Kairi: Ooh I will do that in the morning, I think.
Yami: No thanks not gonna happen.
Kura: Yami I will make you take a bath again like last time.
Yami: … Help me… She’s evil.
Tori: (Puts his hand on Yami’s shoulder). Best to give in.
Chazz and Hiki: (Nod in agreement with a small laugh).
Raku: (Nods as well). I know the place Ziona is talking about. only a few know about it but rarely use so it’s usually always empty for use. I’ll be heading back now though to the wife.
Zahir: Why you gotta leave so soon Raku?
Raku: Well because I have to tell some good news now, don’t I?
Shizen: I expect to hear how life has been going on this island and try to make it so that supplies are sent here to make life easier.
Kairi: Bye mister Raku, it was nice meeting you! (Bows and smiles brightly at Raku).
Raku: (Does the same back to Kairi then walks off as everyone waves goodbye to him). Now the feelings are mutual.
Ziona: Is anyone hungry… I can make a stew quickly. It’s already put together; I just need to heat more since there’s more than just me now.
Shizen: That would be fine but allow someone else to cook so you may stay off your feet.
Ziona: I-I’m fine, it’s no big deal.
Shizen: You must stay off of your feet more. It is bad for your legs if you stand and walk to long at this stage.
Ziona: W-well I…. (Looks down feeling embarrassed since she feels she cannot do as much as she used to when not as big).
Hiki: (Raises her hand). I can help cook if it helps, I learned how too by master.
Zahir: Well honey I do agree that now you can get a break since you have been doing everything yourself while I was gone.
Jennifer: And I can help cook as well.
Ziona: I guess but as long as you stay by my side… I want to stay by me for as long as possible. (Blushes as she looks up at Zahir).
Kairi: Daw that is so cute!
Zahir: And I will no matter what.
Tori: (Sighs). Yes, yes, I’m sorry to break off the lovey dovey moment but we may want to head inside for now before other people see us. We don’t want to explain the situation, would be a pain.
Shizen: Yes, let Raku tell them and I will start to make the cabin so I will be in, in a moment.
Ziona: P-please come in. (Bows and walks back to her house but still clinging to Zahir as they follow).
Zahir: (Smile as Ziona clings to him enjoying every moment of it as Hiki does the same to Chazz and him chuckling slightly).
Kairi: (Clings to Tori being behind the group with him as she looks up at him to know if it’s alright or not to do the same).
Jennifer: (After a lot of debate she blushes heavily and clings to Chazz’s other side as she looks down).
Tori: (Smiles at Kairi at least to help her feel better).
Chazz: (Is shocked at first but then accepts it).
Zahir: (Looks back at the group). There are a lot more feelings than I thought there would be.
Ziona: (Looks back and has a slight smile). Aww it’s cute.
Kura: (Walks beside Hiki but doesn’t cling to her knowing that she should not but is tempted but sighs and let’s it go).
Yami: (Walks on the other side of his sister casually not really paying much attention as they keep walking into the home).
As they head in, they see a simply decorated living room connected to the kitchen which has many herbs and poisonous plants that she uses for medicine hanging on the shelves to dry out. There is a door in back to the small garden and a door on the side leading to a spare room. There is also a small stairway up uwith a baby room and beside its Zahir and Ziona’s room.
Ziona: U-umm it’s not much but I hope it’s alright.
Zahir: Make yourselves at home. (Smiles at everyone).
Hiki: (Drags Chazz to the couch to sit down which drags Jennifer as well).
Jennifer: (Is surprised at first but then leans on Chazz’s shoulder being a little tired).
Kura and Yami: (Both stand but lean against the wall).
Ziona: (Looks up at Zahir). I don’t think to much has changed since you left. There are just more plants in the kitchen and the spare room upstairs by our room has a crib and things like that.
Zahir: Oh, there is, I must make sure to take a look up there.
Ziona: (Smiles at Zahir). I tried to make it as cute as possible and even did some arts and crafts for it.
Zahir: Oh, you did? I bet you did great my dear. (Smiles back at Ziona).
Hiki: (Falls asleep quickly on Chazz and so does Jennifer).
Chazz: Oh you are sleeping more than Tori does.
Kairi: (Clings to Tori as she looks around).
Ziona: I can show you now Zahir. I think everyone is tired so I guess they can rest in the cabin being made or the spare room down here and have dinner when they want to or a really big breakfast if they would like.
Kura: I will heat it up for them when they wake. You may rest and not worry.
Tori: We will figure that out, but a big breakfast does sound nice.
Chazz: (Smiles at Ziona). Yes, it does, if any help is needed do not be afraid to ask. We may be your guests but doesn’t mean we cannot help.
Ziona: I umm thank you…. (Bows a little but can’t as much as she wants to).
Kura: I can help with breakfast and Yami will as well.
Yami: (Looks a little annoyed). Hey, I never volunteered for that.
Kura: Still, you need to help some way.
Yami: … Fine. (Crosses his arms grumpily).
Chazz: I can help as well.
Zahir: Nah I think you will be busier with those two my friend.
Chazz: (Blushes slightly but chuckles). Yes, you may be right.
Yami: Yeah, I’m going out for now, I’ll be back. (Heads out of the door to some place shadowy).
Ziona: (Looks up at Zahir). Do you want to see what I did with the up stair? I think I overdid it a little bit.
Zahir: Sure, I can lead the way my dear. (Smiles at Ziona).
Ziona: (Smiles excitedly since Zahir is with her and walks upstairs with him).
Kura: (Smiles up at Zahir and Ziona and then sits on the floor leaning against the wall as she rests as well).
They make it up the stairs Ziona still smiling at her husband as they go to the two rooms up there. Opening the closest Zahir seeing a light purple room with many child’s decorations of cute little animals made from makeshift arts and crafts supplies. It is clear that she payed attention to detail. There are also decorations on the edges of the walls and a painting painted on one wall made of shades of purple of cute animals that are cartoon like and some toys of the same style.
Ziona: (She looks up at Zahir anxious to know what he thinks). … What do you think?
Zahir: Well, you definitely put everything you had into it and having all the animals ready to go.
Ziona: Well, I thought since I like stuffed animals so much he or she would too so I guess I went a little overboard. (Smiles bashfully).
Zahir: Well, I did get you a lot of stuffed animals before we got married so I know you live for it.
Ziona: (Smiles happily as she hugs Zahir). And I love you for all of them though I just being next to you now is what I wanted most of all….
Zahir: As do I my dear… Being next to you is the greatest thing in the world.
Ziona: (Smiles up at Zahir then looks at a simple rocking chair in the room and sits in it). I actually slept here a lot because for some reason it calmed me down… I even talked to you when you were not here as I looked out the window… It made me feel like you were still here…. (As she tears up looking out the window then smiles and looks at Zahir again).
Zahir: (Goes by Ziona and sits on his knees). You know how we talked… Under trees and just watch the stars… Well, I did that every night to say goodnight to you… All just so I can still have hope…. (Kisses Ziona’s cheek as he tears up as well).
Ziona: I guess in a way we were talking to each other even though we were worlds apart…. (Tears fall as she smiles placing a hand on Zahir’s head after kissing him there).
Zahir: (Kisses Ziona’s lips). No more crying my wife.
Ziona: I’m just so happy that you’re back home… I missed you so much. (Tears still fall as she smiles).
Zahir: As I am happy as well my wife, more than you could ever know.
Ziona: (Kisses Zahir’s lips). I could say the same… When Ruka helped you run from the hunters… He said you were contracted… Could you tell me what it was like…? I want to know everything that happened…. (As she lies her head on Zahir’s shoulder).
Zahir: (Pauses for a moment looking at Ziona). Well… It was something alright. I meet this guy named Luka and at first, he was very unsure of everything and how the whole spirit thing worked. Then again, I wasn’t sure either since he was the first person I was contracted too. Once we had gotten to know about each other I told him about the hunters and all those things… At first, he couldn’t believe at how this could happen… To be honest neither could I, all I wanted was a peaceful life… Surprising enough Luka vowed to make sure that no one would find me and if they did, he would take care of them or die trying. (Smiles with tears). And the more and more time went on so did his age… We did everything we could… He was like a brother to me and when his time came, he didn’t want to say goodbye just yet.
Ziona: (Holds Zahir close to her in comfort). He sounds like a very good person… I wish I could have met him… But if he lived this whole time and he was grown up when you met him… How did he live so long being human…? Did something happen?
Zahir: In an effort to give him more time I gave him some of my energy to keep going for another 20 or so years. That doesn’t look like a lot to us but to humans their entire world changes… Loved ones pass on… People change… The world changes so easily in 20 years so when it came to our last adventure, we wanted to make sure that it was the best one we ever had win or lose. (Tears start to fall from his eyes). And we lost though we were happy at the same time. It makes sense the fight was against Shizen and her kid she is contracted too… Was a good fight but Luka’s time was up so we both began to vanish…. (Breaks down as he sobs sitting on the floor). We did all we could, and I was sad, but he was too. He had this smile on his face since he was going to see his wife too, so it was a bittersweet end to us.
Ziona: (Starts to cry heavily as well hearing Zahir’s stories of Luka. She stiffly gets down on her knees so she can hold him in her arms and pet his hair comfortingly). I’m sorry… I wish I could have met such a great person… But it sounds like you had a lot of good times with him… And who knows… You may see him again in a reborn life and meet him all over again.
Zahir: (Laughs a little bit wiping his eyes). Maybe.
Ziona: (Whisper to herself as she smiles down at her stomach). Hmm… Luka….
Zahir: (Falls to sleep slowly in his wife’s hold finding it more comforting than he could have imagined returning to after such a long time away).
Ziona: (Smiles at her husband thanking him for a idea in her mind. She smiles tenderly at him holding Zahir close and his head rest on her stomach as theirs a few light kicks and a faint heartbeat he listens to as he drifts off a bit in his rest).
Zahir: It… Says hi…. (Falls asleep).
Ziona: (Giggles a little as she holds him and brushes hair from his face missing seeing his face so calm and peaceful in rest like this). I guess we can sleep here… I don’t mind sleeping on the floor… Though I don’t really want to sleep yet… I’ll just hold you for a little longer…. (Smiles as she holds Zahir and enjoying every moment of it. After a while of staring at her husband who sleeps on her stomach with a smile as she pets his head. A strong kick hits her that is aimed right where Zahir’s head is as she winces from it and pouts as she talks to her stomach). Oww stop it that hurt. You don’t want to wake him up do you?
Zahir: (Is still asleep soundly).
Ziona: (Laughs a little as she looks and pets Zahir’s head again enjoying each moment of it. She then bends down to kiss Zahir’s lips lightly and holding her lips there enjoying the feeling of their lips pressed together having missed these moments more than anything)
