Chapter 18

Jennifer: (Walks up to them and smiles).  Good morning, oh I had a question.  Have you seen Kairi?  She’s not in her room.

Chazz: No, I have not, why?  Did she run off again?

Tori: Seems like it since Jennifer’s asking where she is?

Hiki: I could help you find her if you would like or have Tori do it since I’m sure Kura and Yami are with her.

Jennifer: Very well, I have not seen Kura and Yami either so I guess if you or Tori would like to look with me if it is not too much trouble.

Chazz: Hiki and Tori could you finish this up while I help Miss Jennifer find Kairi?

Hiki: Yes master, we will join the search when we are done right Tori?

Tori: Yes, yes fine, we will finish cleaning.

Jennifer: Thank you just where has she run off to.  It is not the time to run off like this.  They will be here in an hour or two at least so we don’t have time for this.

Chazz: Well, where is the first most likely place, she would run off too?

Jennifer: (Pauses to think as she walks).  Hmm I checked outside, and it looks like she was training earlier but she was not out there.  I also checked her room and the main hall areas.  The only thing left is the servant’s area which I don’t think she goes to that often and the kitchen if she was getting hungry perhaps.

Chazz: Where shall we head first then madam?

Jennifer: Hmm perhaps check outside again.  She has been training a lot but also the kitchen if she needed a snack or something… Or Yami could have wanted one most likely knowing him but let’s keep an eye out on the way I suppose.  (She continues walk with Chazz while smiling up at him).

Chazz: Alright well I am sure we will find them in time so no need to worry.

Jennifer: I am not too much; she tends to wander away easily.  I am just glad it is at home this time, but did it have to happen in such a busy time?  (She sighs and shakes her head though she keeps a smile).  Oh well, it is just who she is.

Chazz: Very true that is so much of whom she is, but she is probably walking around to calm her nerves perhaps?

Jennifer: Maybe, it has been some time since they visited and so much has changed since then… And head butler Rowen… Will he be alright with all that has happened…? Can we even hide it all?

Chazz: I doubt that we could, but we can try.  He has always been very keen on these types of things.

Jennifer Well we just have to be extra careful, especially Kairi… Well, I think it is Yami we have to worry about really.  (As they hear from a door leading to the kitchen Kairi humming and stop right by it).  Oh, so this is where she has been.

Chazz: (Chuckles a little bit).  Not that surprising really.  She always did like cooking as well.  Well, more the sweets really.

Jennifer: (Laughs a little as well).  True but don’t tell her that is not good at it… She either uses so many sweets and candy it is crazy or makes something that will make you lose your appetite for a week.  (She shivers at the memory of Kairi’s cooking).  I hope she’s not cooking… So many weird or messy food compilations… True some turn out alright, but others are just odd.  Like mixing fish with chocolate, applesauce, and pasta… Everything has to have some kind of sweet in it.

Chazz: Oh, I am aware… One time I made that mistake but right now let’s just get her ready.

Jennifer: Right.  (Nods as she smiles opening the door to the kitchen seeing Kairi with a cup in her hand of something warm from the steam coming from it.  She sits at a table wearing a pink dress with a black border and sash with her hair flowing down her back in loose curls).  Good morning, Kairi, so this is where you were huh?

Kairi: (Smiles brightly greeting both Jennifer and Chazz).  Good morning!

Chazz: Good morning, Miss Kairi, how are you and what are you doing in the kitchen so early in the morning?

Kairi: Oh, I was looking for some tea but had trouble finding it.  I think I found the right thing; it tastes weird though.

Jennifer: Really, where did you find it and where’s Kura and Yami?

Kairi: oh, Kura is telling Yami to be good and giving him, rules and I found it in the jar over there.  (She points to the jar next to a device to make coffee).

Chazz: (Looks a little bit concerned).  What was the label on the container Miss Kairi?

Kairi: Oh, I did not look.  (Looks a little confused).

Jennifer: (Looks scared as she picks up the coffee jar then looks at Kairi).  It… Was not this, right?

Kairi: I think it was.

Jennifer: (Looks even more scared).  And… How much did you drink?

Kairi: (Pauses to think but still gives a confused look).  I think 2 cups.

Jennifer: (Freezes in shock knowing how Kairi get with barely one cup and starts to panic looking at Chazz).  … 2 cups… Of coffee.

Chazz: (He begins to frown upon hearing Kairi had drunk coffee knowing how she gets with caffeine).  Um… Did you say two cups… Kairi how do you feel

Kairi: (Just stares blankly at both Jennifer and Chazz).

Jennifer: (Backs up slowly from Kairi with a nervous laughs).  Kairi… Just stay calm.

Kairi: (Continues to stare blankly and it is obvious that there is something wrong now).

Jennifer: (Looks at Chazz with a scared look).  I think… We should run.

Chazz: Yes madam… Yes, we should.  (He starts to leave the room quickly).

Jennifer: (Runs out quickly into the hall as well in a panic seeing Hiki who is holding laundry she had finished as she shouts at her in a panic).  Hiki get out of here, save yourself!

Hiki: (Gives a confused look as Jennifer and Chazz run past her but just then a streak of shadow flashes past all of them knocking the laundry Hiki was holding out of her hands and Jennifer into Chazz making them fall against the wall.  She sits on him from how they had fallen being dazed from the impact)

Chazz and Hiki: (Are recovering and rubbing their heads from the impact).

Chazz: Oh no, here we go now.

Jennifer: (Shakes out of it looking down the hall where Kairi had run off to).  What do we do, when she gets like this, she’s impossible to catch?

Hiki: (Still is not sure what had just happened with a panicked tone).  What is happening!

Chazz: (Sits up as he rubs his head).  Miss Kairi is under the effects of caffeine… And when she is she becomes too hyper and just wants to run around… But with her powers added to that this makes it even harder to deal with.

Jennifer: (Stands up looking worried and panicked).  She was difficult to catch with no powers but how exactly are we supposed to catch her now.  Especially when we have such little time for this.  I do not even think you could catch her Hiki the way she is now.

Hiki: What should we do then?

Jennifer: (Tries to think of something quickly).  Well, it should not last long before she crashes but until then we need to find a way to catch her or else she will make a whole mess of the place.  Perhaps a strong barrier or maybe something to use that energy on like someone acting as a distraction or something… I am not sure, it used to be a lot easier with her not having powers but still.

Hiki: We could use Tori… as the distraction and she would ware herself out trying to play with him… Is that ok master?

Chazz: It would have to be that then.

Jennifer: (Looks unsure but then sighs in defeat).  I guess we have no choice then… Where is Tori, are you sure he is fine with that?

Hiki: I’m sure he will be ok with it… Maybe… I don’t know….

Chazz: Well, he should be back in my room resting for now.

Jennifer: Right but if she went down this way, he probably heard some noise.  It is an easy trail to follow since she makes a mess anywhere, she goes so how about we split up and look for now.

Chazz: Yes, we will find her as quick as we can.  (Both he and Hiki leave at light speed).

 

In another area of the mansion near Chazz’s room where Tori sleep Yami is wandering past in the hall casually with his hands in the pockets when suddenly he sees a streak of shadow running past.

Yami: What the fuck gah-.  (The streak sends him flying into Chazz’s door to his room causing it to break into pieces.  He falls into the room and rolls onto the ground and into the wall being knocked on the head from the impact).

Tori: (Is sitting in the room as Yami is sent through the door making him stand alert).  Wait what… Yami you Ok!

Yami: (Is still a bit out of it as he sits there grabbing the head as he tries to snap out of his daze).  What…. The fuck… Was that.

Tori: I should be the one asking that as you went crashing through the door.

Yami: (Rubs his head getting a headache as he looks at the door).  How should I know?  All I saw was a streak of darkness zoom by and next thing I know I’m here.

Tori: A streak of darkness, umm it either could be Kairi or Kura.

Yami: I guess but Kura’s helping with chores so don’t think it’s her.  (He gets up stiffly and looks out the door seeing a giant hole in the wall where the hall turns near Chazz’s room).  Holly crap did Kairi do this!

Tori: It’s the only possible idea that it was Kairi, but I don’t understand how.

Yami: Huh what do we do?  She’s never done this before has she?

Jennifer: (Is running by seeing the big hole in the wall and then Tori and Yami in the doorway of Chazz’s room with a broken door).  Whoa I guess she is even more destructive with powers!  Oh, did you two see her go by?  It is urgent, she had 2 cups of coffee.

Yami: (Gives a confused look).  Coffee, so what?  Is that bad or something?

Tori: Well coffee makes people become more hyperactive and how Kairi is normally I’m guessing it gets even worse.

Jennifer: Yes, we split up to look for her but she’s so fast no one can catch her.

Yami: Well, I have nothing better to do so I guess I’ll look around too.  (He rubs his head still because of the hard hit looking a little out of it still).

Tori: Alright do we have any type of plan though to get her to stop though?  We really can’t just go around aimlessly.

Jennifer: Well, we could try a barrier but she’s so fast it’s hard to trap her in one.  She may go to you since she does that often so do you think you can help look?

Kairi: Tori!  (Just then the streak of darkness comes by again heading for Tori and tackling him now being able to see Kairi as she tackles him in the hug knocking him down with just as much force as she had Yami.  She falls with him but the impact hitting him in the gut hard as Jennifer and Yami look shocked).

Tori: (He hits the floor hard as feels the impact from Kairi being almost knocked out).  Hi… Kairi.

Kairi: (Says in a very quick pace and big smile being very hyper).  Hi Tori!  I was looking everywhere for you!  Do you know that our town has a cake store!  I ran there and never knew!  We should go ooh and there’s so many halls in this place!  I counted 36 but I think I went through some twice!  Ooh and I found the lake nearby!  I ran on it, and it was awesome!  I want to do that again, oh what is wrong!  You should eat cake that always helps!  (She rambles on very quickly as Jennifer looks stunned and Yami watches blankly).

Tori: (Still is recovering as he sits up and pats her head).  Yes, yes… We will get some later… But Kairi could you do me a favor?

Kairi: Ooh what is it!  Ooh I forgot my bunny!  (She zooms off into her room then back right where she was with Tori with a stuffed pink rabbit as she smiles happily and giggles).

Tori: (He smiles as he kisses her head gently).  Could you slow down and just relax here with me for a moment?

Jennifer: (Instantly clenches her fist but after a moment tries to calm herself and sighs whispering to herself).  Just let it go for now.

Kairi: (Begins to blush lightly the hyperactive being replaced with flustardness looking into Tori’s eyes).  I umm… Alright….

Tori: (Smiles as he bows his head apologetically to Jennifer).  Thank you very much Kairi.

Kairi: (Starts to look sleepy and falls into Tori’s hold snuggling up to him as she falls asleep, having used all the energy from the coffee now that she has stopped).

Jennifer: (Sighs being relieved that the rampage is over at least but then thinks of Tori and Kairi’s feeling knowing their clear.  Especially if he can calm her down that easily and knowing Tori is a good person accepting one day that those feelings will happen since it feels like she’s growing up so fast and yet never changes from being herself making her smile).

Tori: There, there now we should be handling the rest right Jenny?

Jennifer: Yes… I will let Chazz and Hiki know that it is over, and we can clean up before company arrives…. You may take care of Kairi and let her rest for now.  (She starts to walk past but says before she goes).  I may sometimes give you a hard time… But maybe… Someday I will not as much… Just as long as you make sure she is happy.  (Before Tori can say anything back to her, she leaves).

Tori: (Gives a confused look at Kairi as he picks her up).  So, umm that happened, I thought for sure my life would have been threatened again.

Yami: (Is still in the doorway with a blank look).  Yeah… What… Umm whatever… I don’t feel good… I’m gonna lie down… Or something. (He rubs his head and starts to walk into the room and passes out on the bed the impact finally getting to him).

Tori: (Takes Kairi out of the room as Yami passes out thankfully on the bed).  How exactly are we going to fix this hole?

Shizen: (Is on the other side of the hall and sighs).  At least it is over then but let me handle it.  (Vines start to grow through an open window with tools and wooden planks to patch the hole up as she is concentrating on her power).

Tori: Well at least that’s one problem handled for now, thanks Shizen.

Shizen: No worries, this is the 4th hole I have fixed so far.  She is stronger than she looks.  Tell me if you find more.

Tori: (Shakes his head yes as heads back to Kairi’s room).  Well let’s see the damage so far.  (As he is walking, he sees Kairi’s room has stuffed animals and clothes scattered all around and the window open where he sees Kura outside in a tree with laundry in her arms looking very confused as she looks around.  It’s clear she has no idea how she had gotten there).

Kura: How… Did I get here….

Tori: (Walks towards the window).  I feel like I should be the one asking that?

Kura: I umm… Was doing laundry with Hiki… And the next thing I know there’s a flash of darkness and I am here… And I feel dizzy….

Tori: Do you feel ok Kura, need my help?

Kura: No… No… I’m just going to sit here a moment….  (Sits back on the tree still looking out of it).

Tori: Umm ok then, I’m going to lay Kairi down for a nap then.

Kura: Alright… Remind me… To never make coffee again… And never to give it to her if she asks to try it….

Tori: Yeah, well now we know better.

Kura: Uh huh… I’ll help out in a moment….

Kairi: (Snuggles up into Tori’s hold and smiles in her sleep).

Tori: No need to rush right now.  She’s asleep so I think you may want to take a breather.

Kura: Good idea… Then I need to tell Yami to be good when company arrives… Or else he will do something to ruin everything… I swear he is always getting into trouble.  (She laughs a little while shaking her head).

Tori: Well, he’s in master’s room recovering at the moment because he was sent through a door a moment ago.

Kura: I see so that was that loud sound… But I need to ask, this head butler, what’s his name… Anyways how strict is he?

Tori: (Thinks for a second).  His name is Rowen, why do you ask?

Kura: oh nothing… I’m just worrying about Yami mostly, and if he is in any danger…. Similar to what happened with Luna if he and I…. Mostly him because of his ability are found out.

Tori: I highly doubt it since the first issue will be you and Yami being with Kairi since no one expected her to have spirits.

Kura: Especially dark spirits that most think of as corrupt… But when he does find out I hope he gives us the opportunity to explain ourselves… And that were not as corrupt as the world says we are.  (She looks down, holding tightly to the clothing in her hands).

Tori: Well, he had the same problem with me at first but I explained it all to him so you should be ok.  He takes the time to listen, and his views are much different then you may think.

Kura: Very well then thank you and I will get Kairi ready in a half hour since company is coming very soon.  Thank you for calming her down.

Tori: Ok I will lay her down in here then and no problem, just happy the commotion is over.

Kura: Very well, see you a little later then.  (She hops off the tree to put laundry away and to go get Yami).

 

Everyone gets ready for company after that they leave Kairi to rest a little and to visit after they have made sure she has calmed down.  Shizen finishes fixing the damaged areas and goes into Jennifer’s mind for when company arrives with same being for Kura who drags Yami into Kairi’s mind.  Jennifer and Chazz start to head to the main hall as Hiki and Tori follow behind them.

Jennifer: (Turns to look back at Hiki and Tori).  Will you two be going into Chazz’s mind?  Head butler Rowen does know you to, right?

Chazz: They should be out here as well, but they will act like one of the staff.

Jennifer: … I hope we did not miss anything.  (They make it to the main entrance hall of the mansion looking at the doors that lead outside a little nervously).

Chazz: I am sure everything will be fine madam Jennifer… Do not be nervous….  (He shakes a little nervously himself as he says this as Hiki holds his shoulder).

Jennifer: (Nods as takes a deep breath to try and calm down as they start to hear a carriage coming near the mansion).  I hope so….

 

Upon arriving to the mansion in a carriage that seems to be a normal for long travels Rowen is inside of it speaking too Cordelia about their soon arrival to her home.  Cordelia is a woman in her 40’s wearing a heavily decorated royal blue dress with long black hair with a little grey flowing down elegantly with and sapphire jewelry that brings out her deep blue eyes with light pink lip.  She looks out of the carriage at the approaching view of the mansion). 

Cordelia: It has been so long.  hmm I wonder how much has changed with my girls.

Rowen: (A older looking gentleman that seems to be in his 40’s as well rides with lady Cordelia.  He is wearing the standard suit that a butler would wear while he also has the family’s crest on his sleeves.  His mustache seems to be a bit grayish brown which makes him look slightly older than he is with a strong tall body that is hidden well by the well-tailored suit).  I do wonder as well madam; I am hoping Chazz has kept everything in order.

Cordelia: Yes, and I hope my children did not give him too much of a hard time.  It probably was a lot for him to handle especially at such a young age… But they probably have grown up a lot… I wonder how much they have changed.  (She smiles as she continues to look out as the carriage pulls up to the front entrance).

Rowen: Well, we will see now won’t we and I believe that everything should be in order since I had to make sure of it.

Cordelia: (Smiles more at Rowen as she gets ready to leave the carriage grabbing her purse that matches the design of her dress as she waits for him to escorting her).  Yes, now shall we?

Rowen: (He grabs Cordelia’s hand as he leaves the carriage first and helps her out next).

Cordelia: Why thank you.  (Walks with Rowen to the door and then takes a breath as they reach the door and then nods to Rowen with a polite smile).

Rowen: Welcome home madam Cordelia.

Cordelia: It is good to be back to our home though I do have to say there is much more plant life then I remember.  (She looks at the mansion walls that have vines and leaves growing up them but not looking all over the place like it was following an elegant pattern up the wall).

Rowen: Yes… I do not remember the plant life being this alive or this spread out hmm.  (He gets suspicious as he has an idea why this happened but let’s it go for now).

Cordelia: Hmm very well then, shall we?  (Stands in front of the door as she waits for Rowen).

Rowen: Yes, we shall….  (He opens the door for Cordelia walk inside).

Cordelia: (Walks inside seeing Jennifer and Chazz with two other servants behind them.  One a man in a butler’s suit like Chazz’s and with white hair and another being a maid with half white and half white hair assuming that they were hired after she left and walks over to them with a big yet formal smile).

Jennifer: (Walks up to her mother and curtsy to her with a polite smile).  Welcome home mother.

Cordelia: (Curtsy back to Jennifer as well as Chazz and the servants in back of him as she continues to smile).  Thank you, Jennifer, and my you have grown up so much as well as you sir Chazz.

Chazz: Thank you madam, you are too kind.  (He bows as Hiki and Tori greet her as well).

Cordelia: I see you have gotten much better at being formal as well.  No longer the inexperienced apprentice but it seems I am missing one daughter here, where is Kairi?

Jennifer: Oh, she was not feeling well so she is lying down at the moment.

Cordelia: I see well I hope some rest helps and I look forward to seeing the bright smile she always has.  It was dearly missed.

Jennifer: (Laughs a little).  She does smile brightly, doesn’t she?  (She sees Rowen walk up behind Cordelia and smiles and curtsies formally as Rowen notices her eyes are greener then when he saw her before).  Head butler Rowen, it is good to see you as well.

Rowen: (He bows).  Well, hello their madam Jennifer, I am happy to see that you are in good health

Jennifer: And I am glad you are as well.  I hope that everything here is up to the standards you placed when you had left.

Cordelia: Well, it seems you have been taking care of the place and I look forward to hearing all that has happened over lunch with my two little girls… Well, I guess not so little anymore.  (She laughs and gives Jennifer a hug who returns the hug with a big smile).

Rowen: Well, everything seems too good so far, but I will look things over with Chazz later is that alright?

Chazz: Yes, I would be happy to show you around the mansion.  I can assure you everything is in top shape.  (As he bows).

Rowen: Well, I hope so but first let me show lady Cordelia to her room,

Cordelia: Ah yes why thank you Rowen and I will see you soon Jennifer.  I look forward to hearing all about everything that has happened with you and Kairi.  (She takes Rowen’s arm so he can escort her to her room).

Jennifer: (Curtsies to both Cordelia and Rowen as they begin to leave with a smile).  I look forward to it and I know Kairi will look forward to it as well.

Cordelia: (Laughs again). it is alright, I look forward to seeing that big smile of hers

Rowen: (Takes Cordelia away Chazz and Hiki and Tori let out a huge sigh of relief).

Jennifer: (Does the same as she turns to Chazz, Hiki and Tori).  I think that went well.

Chazz: Maybe but I am nervous about when he meets Kairi, oh boy.

Hiki: Because that may be hard to keep up an act or keep anything a secret.

Jennifer: True she never really did well with keeping secrets, but you said something about Rowen able to sense a person’s energy or something close to that.  That could be a bigger problem.  (She tries to think of a way around this as she talks but cannot find any).

Chazz: Yes, that is what I am worried about the most right now since if he senses Kura or Yami it could be a bad thing for me.

Jennifer: Perhaps Kura can hide it better though… But Yami’s power is still very untamed so that would be like trying to hide a giant tiger with a temper under a rug in the middle of the room.

Tori: Yeah, I may help keep him busy somewhere else later or just seal his energy away for a bit.

Jennifer: I guess that could work for now, let’s go now while we still can, and we can figure it out from there.  (She starts to walk down a hall towards Kairi’s room).

Chazz, Hiki and Tori: (Soon follow behind Jennifer).

Jennifer: (Walk down the hall and soon stops at Kairi’s room knocking on the door).  Kairi are you awake?  Mom and Rowen are here… Kairi?  (She opens the door not hearing a answer and looks around the room beginning to look worried).  She is… Not here….

Chazz: She… Is not there… Oh no… Rowen.  (He immediately heads into a opposite direction while Hiki and Tori do the same).

Jennifer: (Gives a very worried look as she begins to look for Kairi as well as she tries not to panic).

 

Meanwhile in another area of the mansion Kairi wanders the hall wondering where everybody had gone.

Kairi: That is weird, there were so many people before and where is sis.  (As she looks, she’s sees someone down the hall and smiles finally able to find someone.  Once seeing who it is she is walking towards her she gets an excited look smiling brightly as she waves at Rowen while running towards him).  Rowen your here!

Rowen: Oh, hello Miss Kairi, how are you feeling… Your sister told your mother and I you were feeling unwell.

Kairi: Oh, I am alright, I just had some coffee is all.  I am all better now… But I do not remember much of it… Something about cake and holes in the wall.  (She tries to think back not remembering much of it but just shrugs and smiles brightly up at Rowen again).

Rowen: (Looks at Kairi suspiciously).  Holes in the wall… And didn’t I tell you not too have coffee early in the morning.  It is never a good thing to deal with.  Where was Chazz in this?

Kairi: Oh, everyone was cleaning I think since they wanted everything to look perfect before you and mom came here.  (She looks up at Rowen as she talks to him).

Rowen: (He notices that her eyes are darker than he remembers with an odd and alarming amount of darkness in her that he starts to sense as he becomes more focused on it).  I see… Well, I am happy they cleaned up well than.  Mis Kairi could you come a bit close to me just really quickly?  (He kneels down to Kairi’s height).

Kairi: (Steps closer so she is right next to Rowen and gives a confused and curious look).  What is it?

Rowen: I just want to see your eyes for a second if that is alright.  (He looks into Kairi’s eyes more closely).

Kairi: Alright.  (She still gives a confused look but then looks at Rowen directly in the eyes so he can see her eyes clearly).

Rowen: (He sees a small red light in the middle of her pupil with a deep dark color surrounding it).  Darkness….

Kairi: (Still looks confused but also concerned wondering if she did something wrong).  Is something wrong?

Rowen: Just a bit but close your eyes.  I need to do something just real quickly.

Kairi: Oh, umm alright.  (Closes her eyes backing up slightly not sure of what is wrong).

Rowen: (He then begins to make a hand seal to seal away the dark energy he feels in Kairi).

Kairi: (Keeps her eyes closed as the seal goes closer.  A dark figure appears beside her of a young boy looking about 10 years old.  He has messy black hair with red highlights and red eyes but with black where it would usually be white.  He looks annoyed and grumpy having just gotten a lecture from Kura).

Yami: Kairi how long do I have to stay in there; it’s boring.  (He sees that Kairi’s not responding with her eyes still closed getting a confused look).  Hey what’s wrong with you?  (He then notices Rowen in front of them turning to him).  Who the hell are you?

Rowen: Spirit… Darkness… I see then… Hello there my name is Rowen, and I am Miss Kairi’s butler.  Who might you be sir?

Yami: Oh, you’re that guy they talked about… Yeah names Yami sup.  (He shrugs casually but looks at Rowen being alert since he doesn’t know him).

Rowen: Yes, I am that ‘guy’ but may I ask what element you are?

Yami: (Scratches his head).  Darkness but I don’t see why that’s any of your business really.

Rowen: I see… I see… Darkness huh….  (He gets the hand seal he had before ready in an instant as he puts it barely an inch away from Yami’s face).  Now explain why are you inside of Miss Kairi?

Yami: (Grabs Rowen’s hand trying to pull him away being taken off guard).  What the fuck are you doing! 

Kura: (Appears beside both Yami and Rowen grabbing his arm looking at Rowen with a serious and protective look and almost a glare like warning towards him as he notices her eyes and long hair are the same as Yami’s).  I apologies for his lack of manners but I cannot allow you to do that.

Rowen: All I wanted was an answer of why.  If I did not like it, I would tell him unless you require me to get forceful.

Yami: Hey sounds like you’re asking for a fight!  (He places his hand on the hilt of one of his knives).

Kura: (Sighs).  It is not wise to say that with a seal on your head.  I apologies he has a temper at times but we both are Kairi’s spirits.  I can assure we are not here to harm anyone especially Kairi though I apologies as well if my idiot brother says anything that offends you.

Yami: (Gets an annoyed grumpy look as he yells).  Hey, don’t call me an idiot and if he wants a fight bring it!

Kura: (Sighs yet again).  Not helping.

Rowen: (Pulls back his hand).  I apologize, it is just that I cannot be too careful but if the young one wishes for a fight, I don’t see why I could turn it down.

Yami: (Smirks).  I’m always ready for one so bring it.

Kura: Perhaps another time but for now we will explain all we can, first off being that we were chosen as Kairi’s spirits since it appeared as if she was of darkness element herself or at least we were compatible to be pared with her together

Kairi: (Starts to break out of a trance like state she was put in opening her eyes seeing Kura and Yami with Rowen wondering what had happened).  Wha… Kura, Yami your here?

Yami: It’s about time you snapped out of it.

Rowen: She is of darkness… I find that hard to believe.  (Looks quite confused and puzzled by this having a feeling another element would fit her much better though he was never sure of what).  And hello Miss Kairi, I apologize for putting you in that daze.  I just had to see what spirits you had for safety concerns.

Kairi: (Understands what happened a little more and smiles at Rowen).  Oh, that is fine, this is Kura and Yami.

Kura: (Bows politely as Yami leans against the wall casually).  Yes, and I agree it is hard to believe she is of darkness element with such a bright smile.  We have been with her not long at all and have already formed a deep bond with her.  She is stronger than she looks.

Kairi: If you want me to prove it I can.  I learned so much and so much has happened to.

Rowen: No, no I believe you.  No need for that but I am curious to what you know now so maybe later I will ask more.

Kairi: (Smiles brightly).  Alright, I cannot wait!

Yami: (Grins).  I’ll look forward to that fight to.

Rowen: Yes, yes, we will see.

Kairi: Oh, and where is mom?  She is here with you right?

Rowen: She is back in her room Miss Kairi.  Do you wish to go see her right now?

Kairi: If she is not busy and do you know where sis, Chazz Hiki and Tori went to?  I could not find them either.

Rowen: She should not be too busy right now since she just arrived home.  Those three I have not seen since our arrival.

Kairi: Oh, alright thank you, I cannot wait!

Kura: Very well, shall we go back then?  I do not think we should stay if she is meeting her mother, especially Yami since his manners are somewhat lacking.

Yami: Hey not cool!

Rowen: (As he about to leave with Kairi he sees Chazz with Hiki and Tori behind him already seeming nervous).  Oh, hello their Chazz, you have some explaining to do.

Kairi: (Has a big smile seeing Chazz, Hiki and Tori and hugs Tori).  Hi!

Kura: (Looks apologetically at Chazz).  I’m sorry, it did not take him long to figure it out.

Chazz: (Smiles sheepishly towards Rowen).  I figured so or else he would not be my teacher….

Rowen: Happy that you remember now but still how could allow Miss Kairi to make a contract!

Chazz: Well, when she had seen Shizen… Things went out of hand.  (Scratches his head a little bit nervously).

Rowen: (Pauses hearing that name saying it in a whisper).  Shizen….

Jennifer: (Is behind Hiki and Tori catching her breath not able to keep up with their speed as well).  Please… Do not blame… Chazz, it is… My fault as well.

Shizen: (Appears beside Rowen and smiles).  Well, I guess there is no point in hiding now but it is a pleasure to see you again Rowen although this time you will not have to put a seal on me.  Do not worry, I will take responsibility for all that has happened.

Tori: Well, she is not that wrong so yeah it would be recommended.

Shizen: Right and yes, I will say that there has been danger for everyone here.  All these young ones have done a lot of good deeds by fighting for what they believe is right… I will explain all that has happened over drinks tonight that I hope you remembered you promised me if you saw me again.  (She smiles at Rowen as she pats him on the shoulder).

Rowen: (He laughs a little bit).  True, true I did and alright I want to hear a full explanation later Shizen.

Shizen: Very well as long as you do not freak out too much.  Just know that all these young ones are brave and follow what they believe full heartedly.  (Looks at everyone around her and Rowen with a proud smile as they smile back).

Rowen: (He smiles as starts to walk off).  Well, I always knew that they could because that is just the type of group they are.  From the moment I sensed their spirits I knew that they all faced many trials, and you may all face many more ahead… But that does not mean you will lose that easily… The bond you all share the same path you all walk down… Now isn’t the just a great thing to do, isn’t it?

Jennifer: (Smiles at Rowen and then smiles proudly even more when looking at the group with her).

Kairi: (Smiles as well along with everyone else).

Shizen: It is a great thing to see, and I know they will grow even more… And Rowen I look forward to those drinks later.  (She smirks at Rowen as he is leaving).

 

The group goes back to doing their daily routines, Jennifer taking Kairi back to her room for a little bit.  Chazz is with his spirits going back to their servants’ duties making tea for Cordelia and taking it to her study.

Chazz: (When he, Hiki and Tori arrive at the door to the study he hears Cordelia talking to someone, but he does not know who).

Cordelia: (As she shuffles through papers).  It is alright.  I know you did not mean to just try not to touch these papers, their very important alright.

??????: (They hear another voice being high pitched like a little girl and they can hear the sadness in her voice like she is thinking she had done something wrong).  Ha….

Cordelia: No do not be upset, it is alright.  Just try to be more careful.  (She pauses for a second before speaking again rather quickly).  Hamako quickly goes into the fountain… Yes, the fountain.

Chazz: (He is jolted from evesdropping and knocks on the door to enter).  Oh, umm Mises Cordelia?  I am here with your late morning tea.

Cordelia: Oh yes thank you, you may come in.

Chazz: Alright, I am coming in then.  (He comes in with a little cart that has her tea and a little snack to go with it followed by Hiki and Tori).

Cordelia: (Is sitting at the desk at the end of the study with bookshelves lining the walls on both sides of her and a big window behind her.  She cleans up papers on the desk that look soaked as well as a small puddle on the desk that drips slightly onto the floor).  Ahh thank you Chazz and you as well Mis Hiki and Sir Tori.  (She bows a little as she is taking care of the soaked area).

Hiki and Tori: (Both bow as well with the view that they have been doing this for a while now).

Chazz: Um madam did you spill a drink or something?  Should I go collect a towel to clean it up for you?

Cordelia: Oh, it is just an accident is all.  I can take care of it but thank you.  (She smiles at all three of them a towel from a drawer in the desk like it is a normal thing that happens).

Chazz: If you are sure then and I must ask who were you talking with a moment ago?

Tori: We heard you speaking with someone of the name Hamako I believe it was miss Cordelia?

Cordelia: (Pauses for a second being a little surprised).  Hmm so you heard me?  It is not nice to eavesdrop but yes, I tend to talk to myself a little.  That is all and I am sure you do something similar to that often as well.  (Looks at the fountain to make sure something is not seen but it is very hard to catch only doing that for a second or two).

Hiki: But madam that doesn’t explain the name itself because what would you name that would be Hamako?  (She walks near the fountain for a second).

Cordelia: I have always liked the name.  I do not see why I cannot use it and it is impolite to snoop around Mis Hiki.  (She pauses seeing Hiki walk over to the fountain only reacting for a second before trying to act calm as Hiki sees water flowing from the beautifully decorated fountain a little normally but a little heavily like water is flowing more than it normally would but not many would think much of it).

Hiki: (Stands by the fountain looking at the water flow).

Chazz: Are you sure madam?  It for sure sounded like someone else was here.

Hiki: (Feels like something is looking back at her in the small area the water is flowing into but can’t see anything there).

Cordelia: (Looks at Hiki being nervous for a moment then back at Chazz more composed).  No and it is quite rude to question the head of the family like this and Hiki could you move away from there please.

Hiki: (She is taken by surprise as he falls down and some water gets on top of her head.  From the small pond like design at the end of the fountain splashes of water fly out hitting not just Hiki quite a bit more but Tori a little in the face as well as if someone were splashing them since water does not splash without a cause and this seeming directed at them).

Cordelia: (Sighs saying to herself).  Well, it was worth a try.

Chazz: (Gives a confused look).

Hiki: Geez I didn’t want to get wet now I need to get cleaned up.  (She tries to wipe off the water, but it is not moving at all like it is alive).  Wait what?

Tori: (He is trying to do the same becoming confused).

Cordelia: (Sighs again in defeat).  It is alright Hamako; there is no need to hide anymore.

Hamako: (A figure starts to form close to Hiki some of the water leaving her and forming the figure of a girl.  She looks about 4 to 6 years old with big innocent eye being the color of teal color and her body made completely of light blue water.  Her hair is a darker medium blue and a simple dress forming made of water going to about knee length with no ornate design to it but covers her shoulders on the top seeming form fitting but also a flowing style.  She looks at Hiki being face to face with her with a curious and adorable expression and a high picked voice of a little girl).  … Ha?

Hiki: (She looks at the water girl and front and still in question of what is going on.  She makes the realization that they are face to face Hiki tries to touch her face but ultimately fails being as if putting her hand through water).

Hamako: (As Hiki’s hand goes through her she still gives a curious look tilting her head in a cute way).  To-ri?

Cordelia: (Smiles and laughs a little).  No Hamako that is Hiki.

Hamako: (Stays where she is as she looks at Hiki with a slight smile her eyes still filled with curiosity).  … Hika?

Hiki: Not Hika… But close enough to Hiki….

Cordelia: (Walks over standing behind Chazz with a smile).  Everyone I would like you to meet my water spirit Hamako.

Hamako: (Sits up a little looking around at the people in the room first looking at Tori since he is closest besides Hiki).  To-ri?

Chazz: … Water spirit… I see, it kind of makes sense.

Tori: Yes, I am Tori Mis Hamako.

Cordelia: Just as much sense as you having dark and light spirits sir Chazz.

Chazz: You have a fair point madam but when did you form a contract with Hamako?

Cordelia: (Thinks back).  Hmm I believe I was a little older than you are now.

Chazz: I see… Is that way madam Jennifer can also have a spirit as well or was it all by chance?

Cordelia: Hmm I suppose it is possible.  Rowen would be better to ask these things since he had taught me as well though I am not too much of a combat person myself like him and yourself.

Chazz: I see… Well, I will ask him maybe or not worry about it all, we shall see.

Cordelia: Very well then.  (Has a big smile watching Hiki with Hamako).

Hamako: (Goes back to looking at Hiki tilting her head in a cute way and a little smile).  Pretty… Hair.

Hiki: (Still looks at Hamako as she smiles more).  Well, you have pretty hair as well.

Hamako: (Gets a big smile and a small giggle and then her form changes into what looks like a reflection of Hiki but made of water).

Hiki: (She looks at Hamako with a smile).  That’s adorable.

Hamako: (Copies Hiki’s movements similar to how a reflection would).  Hika….

Hiki: (Does a little sudden movements seeing Hamako coping her).

Hamako: (Follows Hiki’s movements perfectly).

Hiki: (She keeps playing along with Hamako as she holds her hand across from hers)

Hamako: (Holds her arm as well but the form goes away, and she goes back to the form she had before looking up at Hiki with an adorable expression with big innocent eyes filled with wonder and curiosity).  Fun….

Hiki: Daw.  (She just tries to hug Hamako but fails as her arms fall into her since she is a body of water).

Hamako: (Snuggles into the hold making Hiki become soaked).

Cordelia: Looks like she likes you then, but I do apologize about your clothes.  I always have spare wherever I go so you can borrow those as well as towels.  Rowen does the same since we have gotten used to it so often.  (She laughs lightly).

Chazz: (He sighs as gets Hiki away from Hamako for now so she can’t too soaked).

Hamako: (As Hiki is pulled away she looks at Hiki with an upset expression, almost like a very adorable pout while looking down a little).

Cordelia: Careful she’s easy to upset but can get distracted easily as well.  She can often be too adorable to say no to.  (She goes over to Hamako and pets her head making her feel better).

Hiki: (She does the same as she dries off with a towel that Chazz has given her as Tori is nearby doing the same)

Hamako: (Stands up looking at everyone in the room again then skips over to Tori looking up at him).  … To-ri…?

Tori: Umm hello Hamako….  (He is not sure what to really do).

Hiki: Come on Tori, don’t be shy now of all times.

Hamako: (Looks up at Tori as water starts to absorb into her from the fountain making her grow to a reflection of Tori made of water like she had done with Hiki).

Tori: (He does the same type of movements that Hiki had done being fascinated).

Hamako: (Imitates Tori like a reflection would perfectly).

Cordelia: (Laughs).  She likes doing that quite a bit.

Tori: I can see that yet it also a good distraction in a way.

Hamako: (Goes back to her normal form with a smile as she looks up at Tori as she hugs him getting him soaked like she had done with Hiki but only to her height).  Pretty hair too….

Tori: Well, thank you Hamako you have pretty hair as well.

Hiki: Be careful, don’t want to get Kairi jealous.

Hamako: (Gives a confused look).  Laiwi?

Cordelia: Yes, Hamako that’s one of my daughters, you remember and…. (She instantly pauses, and her eyebrows rise in interest).  I see… Hiki what did you mean by that… Tori are you… Interesting.  (She looks even more interested as she looks at Tori already coming to an obvious conclusion from what Hiki has said).

Tori: (He sighs as he stares at Hiki almost in a glare).

Hiki: (Laughs sheepishly).  Oops.

Cordelia: (Pauses as she thinks).  Hmm I see then… Normally I would be quite strict with these types of things but if what I am thinking is true then I am sure Jennifer gives you quit a hard time already… If that is the case, I almost feel sorry for you… Is that the case though?  (She seems pleasant when saying this, but Tori can see a hint of scariness he sees similar to Jennifer at times)?

Tori: (As he begins to panic a little bit).  No, no madam nothing of that sort is going on.  True Mis Kairi may have feelings, but I have not done anything of the sort!

Hiki: (She chuckles a little bit hearing that Tori knows).

Cordelia: I see… Chazz, Hiki why don’t you go play with Hamako for a little bit.  I would like to have a small talk to Tori if that is alright?  (She looks at Tori with less of a scary look, but it is hard to tell what is going through her head).

Hamako: (Gives a confused look to what is going on).

Chazz: (As he shakes his head feeling a little bit worried about Tori, he has Hiki follow him out the room)

Cordelia: (Looks out the window as everyone is leaving in thought).

Hamako: (Looks at Cordelia before leaving who pats her on the head then at Tori skipping to catch up with Chazz and Hiki).  Hika….

Hiki: (She says with a smile).  Come on Hamako, we can play somewhere else alright?

Hamako: (Gets an excited look as she follows Hiki out and the door closes behind them).

Cordelia: (Pauses a moment before speaking still looking out of the window).  So… Tori… Kairi has feelings for you then?

Tori: Oh umm… She might… From how she acts sometimes.

Cordelia: Well, she always had trouble hiding things especially feelings so it is probably true and will be confirmed later on today when I see her around you.  More importantly I question now… What are your feelings?

Tori: Well… Well… True I do appreciate her feelings but I’m not sure if I should return them….

Cordelia: (Looks at Tori as if studying his emotions, he shows).  And why is that?  Do you not have the same feelings to return to her?

Tori: (Looks down undecidedly or more so uncertainty of what he feels).  Well… I want her to keep the smile she always has… The laughter I enjoy hearing… Maybe.

Cordelia: I see… And what makes you so hesitant to explore these feelings?  Is it that Jennifer is scaring you away?  If so, I do not think she will harm you physically… Too much….

Tori: No, no I have grown used to her threats… And I’m not sure myself… I’m sorry for this.

Cordelia: No, it is fine, I am not mad.  (She pauses to think for a moment more coming to another conclusion that makes sense to her as she frowns a little).  Is it that she is not a spirit and your scared of that bond you would form leaving you?

Tori: Maybe… Maybe it is that, but I know I shouldn’t worry about that.  I couldn’t live with myself if something happened.

Cordelia: (Pauses like she is wanting to say something but shakes it away).  I see… So, it’s fear of losing her… I understand then.  Well, if you let that continue going through your mind like that then the feelings that I can see you hold for her even with your confusion about them will never develop.  Yes sadness happens but also do not forget the memories of the big smile you probably give her even now knowing how she is… I just want to see it for myself to confirm it.

Tori: I see… I always want to make her smile… When she walks towards me, I feel like it’s just her and me in an empty space her eyes on me…. And my eyes on her… Yet maybe she is too young still for me think about these types of feelings for her….

Cordelia: Yes, she has always looked young same with many of this family, but she is almost 15 and at 16 and you yourself look about 16 or 17.  She will be able to be courted officially though that has started now being forward is not permitted.  This has more to do really with becoming betrothed to one… But for now, focus on what you feel… Because I already can tell you care deeply for her… Perhaps even love her?

Tori: Maybe I do… And I know… But at the same time, I want to keep things slow and just enjoy the moments I have with her now.  If she moves on from me… I will be happy as long as I see that smile.

Cordelia: (There is a hint of sadness in regret from her youth in her eyes, but she does not share it).  I see… But wanting her to smile is the start and it is an important thing that love grows on.

?????: (As Tori hears slightly from the other side of the door a very familiar voice).  Tori… I want you to be happy to….

Tori: (Pauses in surprise looking at the door).  Want me to be happy too… Kairi is that you?

Kairi: (Peaks in from the door a little timidly looking down a little).  Sorry… I did not mean to eve’s drop… And hi mom… I missed you.

Cordelia: (Smiles at Kairi).  Hello Kairi, you have grown up quite a bit, haven’t you?  Already finding one your heart has its eyes on.

Kairi: (Looks at Tori with slight tears forming at the edge of her eyes).  I guess so… I am still confused by it though but… I know I want you to be happy to Tori… It does not have to be with me… All I want is for you to smile… Do not worry about me if it is not what makes you happy… That is all I want.

Tori: Oh Kairi… I would be happy to share a smile with you but… Right now, I’m not sure if it would be right to do never mind your sister or anything else it’s just… I couldn’t stand to see you fade away yet all I want to do is hold your hand.  (He looks down in fear of opening his heart so far for a human life).

Kairi: (Comes out from peaking in the door walking towards Tori).  I guess I cannot promise I will not go away… But if you want to… You can hold my hand now… And just focus on that.  (She holds out her hand towards Tori smiling up at him).

Cordelia: (Watches both her daughter and Tori silently at her desk).

Tori: (He hesitates but takes her hand into his own tightly).  Alright, if, you are sure.

Kairi: No… I am already sure because I know I care about you… But if you are too scared, I understand… It is alright.  (She looks down).

Tori: (Without letting his fear take hold of his mind again he takes a leap of faith and follows what his heart is screaming).  No, I shouldn’t be scared anymore… I will stand by your side if you allow it.

Kairi: (Looks up at Tori with a bright and happy smile holding his hand just as tightly).  Yes…. I am happy to be by your side to and I will do my best to help you not be scared anymore.

Cordelia: (Smiles at both Tori and Kairi in their moment as she says to herself).  My little girl is growing up so fast, isn’t she?  It will be time to tell them the truth soon, won’t it?

Tori: I guess so… But it is a good thing sometimes.

Cordelia: (Looks at Tori with a serious look but also a smile).  Well, I suppose that means you will wish to court my daughter then and become her suitor?

Kairi: (Looks back and forth from her mother and Tori then up at Tori wondering what he will say).

Tori: (He blushes as he hides his face and says silently).  If… If you would have me than… Mises Cordelia… And Kairi.

Kairi: (Smiles brightly up at Tori tries to reach so she can hug him pulling him down a little so she can as she blushes slightly).

Cordelia: (As she has an expression of deep thought).  Hmm very well but as I said no crossing a certain line until she is 16 and if she becomes betrothed to you.  If you do move forward without waiting until those two qualifications are met, then things will become quite difficult since these are formal things that must be followed.  Nothing beyond kisses when she is 15 and after 16 you must decide for yourselves if you want to become betrothed and have the families blessing.

Kairi: (Looks a little confused on what is further her mother is talking about but blushes at the thought of Tori kissing her lips let alone being betrothed to him later down the line).

Tori: Of course, I will follow everything you tell me.

Cordelia: Very well, you are off to a good start then.  Also know that Kairi is not officially yours, not until you are betrothed to her so try not to be to jealous if other suitors come to see her.  It is normal until she is betrothed but be careful of persistent ones.  They are always out there, and it is Kairi’s decision when she turns 16 and has two years to choose who she wants to be with.  I will give you all you need to know written on paper of how these things work for those who are noble ladies like Kairi.  Does that sound fair?  (As she takes out papers and a pen from her desk that she is sitting at and starts writing).

Tori: Yes, I will follow the rules, so it is fair for everyone, and I have no worries of jealousy.  I have already seen some people trying to be a suitor now.

Cordelia: Very well I can tell you are a fine, honest, and respectful young man.  I can tell you two care for one another so I do not see why you should not be together.  We will find a way to cover up the fact that you are a spirit to the public once your relationship grows and time moves on more.  It has been done before I have heard from Rowen.

Tori: It has been done… But alright I will do everything I can to make sure that you don’t regret this.

Kairi: (Cannot help but have a big smile as she holds Tori’s hand).

Cordelia: I know you will or else I would give you a harder time then my other daughter and yes it has though I am not sure about with one being with a noble as a suitor.  It is much more public notice then the case I am thinking of, but Rowen knows much more about it.

Tori: I see… And don’t worry, I’m guessing miss Jennifer will give me a hard time anyways so I doubt I will avoid it

Cordelia: One day she will accept it but later I will have to talk to her about some private things she would not like to hear… I wish I did not have to….  (She looks saddened for a second as Kairi gives a confused look but then shakes it off).  Anyways I think you two will be fine but Tori this is a rule I have made myself.  Break her heart and you will wake up in a sphere of water and drown.  (She gives a serious and a scary look hidden by a polite smile but seen clearly in her eyes like Jennifer does but much more threatening than she could ever be).

Tori: (He gets more nervous with a cold shiver).  I… I will do everything… In my power to not let that happen… I promise.

Cordelia: (Goes back to her normal polite smile).  Good then we will not have a problem.

Kairi: (Has a big smile still as she curtsies).  Thank you and I cannot wait to tell you about everything that has happened, and I cannot wait to meet your spirit too!

Cordelia: Well, I look forward to it as well and her name is Hamako.  She is with Hiki right now if you wish to meet her.

Kairi: Yay… oh and Tori can we spend time together later.  (She smiles up at Tori with a slight blush).

Tori: (Thinks back on that face Cordeila made a moment ago when she talked about Jennifer but knows it is not his place to ask so he lets it go for now).  Sure, Kairi and yes let’s go back and meet up with everyone.

Kairi: Alright!  (She quickly runs over and gives her mother a hug who hugs her back).

Cordelia: Go have fun, I will be with everyone in a little bit but for right now go enjoy yourselves.

Kairi: Ooh I cannot wait to show you and Rowen how much I have learned.

Cordelia: (Laughs).  Well, I look forward to it.

Kairi: (Has a bigger smile as she skips back to Tori holding her hand out to him).

Cordelia: (Smiles and laughs a little saying to herself in a whisper).  Young love, such an innocent and heartwarming thing.

Tori: (He smiles as he takes her hand and begins to walk out into the hallway with Kairi).  Well, I plan to keep that warm feeling inside of my heart… And good luck to Jennifer madam if it is what I’m thinking I hope for the best to happen.

 

Tori and Kairi walk together in the hall to make it outside as they hold hands still.  Tori not fully realizing that as he thinks of what happened in the office still and of Kairi as Kairi thinks of him.
Kairi: (Looks down at her hand in Tori’s then up at him with a small blush as she thinks of actually being with him as she blushes slightly, her mind still processing that he wants to be with her).  Tori… Are you sure…? You do not have to be with me… I mean I care about you a lot… But I do not want to push my feelings on to you… You do not have to.  (She looks down with slight tears).

Tori: (He stops walking as he lets go of her hand).  … You want to know what’s funny?  I didn’t expect to fall at all anymore… I just felt like I wanted to just fly way into the stars so I could get away… To escape my reality.  (He walks towards the window).  But now… After meeting you, master, Hiki, and everyone else… You all made me realize some things no matter how hard I get hit I have to get back up and move forward… Because in the past I couldn’t do that.  All I could do was deny it… With you I feel like I keep looking forward and never regret it….  (He holds out his hand for Kairi).  So, I ask you this… Will you walk this path of life with me?

Kairi: (Looks out the window then up at Tori wiping her eyes and nodding).  Yes… I will be right beside you and support you in anything you need… I will be right here… And if you want to fly then let me fly with you….  (She takes Tori’s hand as she stands at the window with him and smiles).

 

Kairi and Tori walk hand and hand again both with a smile as they make their way to the outside of the mansion where Hiki is playing with Hamako as Chazz is on the side.  Jennifer tells and shows Rowen the abilities she had gained with some help from Shizen who sits and watches.  Hiki is playing with Hamako who sees a butterfly getting distracted and chasing it she sees Tori and Kairi come outside first and seeing them hold hands.

Chazz: (Notices this as well raising an eyebrow at Tori)).

Hiki: Well now this is very interesting.  What do we have here?

Kairi: (Has a big smile as they walk up to both Chazz and Hiki in an excited tone as she holds Tori’s hand tightly).  Hi, we were just talking to my mom, and she said Tori can be one of my suitors!

Jennifer: (As that is said, and she is shooting her bow at a target she fires it and destroys not just the target but the tree it was on as she hears this).

Tori: Umm yes, I was told was going to be as I was talking with Mises Cordelia.

Kairi: But not officially really until my birthday.

Jennifer: (Mumbles under her breath).  If he tries anything this bow points right at him.

Shizen: Child let it go.  You can’t prevent her from falling for him.

Jennifer: (As she loads another arrow to practice).  Still going to give him warnings until then if he tries anything.

Shizen: (Sighs).  Very well just try not to wound him too badly if so.

Hiki: Well, well than… didn’t expect this to happen so quickly.  I happy you both realized about each other… But still, I’m happy for you Tori about sharing feelings.  (She holds Chazz’s hand for a sec while she says this).

Tori: Oh, um yes… Thank you Hiki.

Kairi: (Smiles brightly with a giggle).  Thank you!

Jennifer: (Glances over for a second seeing Chazz and Hiki hold hands and smiles slightly saying quietly to herself).  It is alright Hiki… I know… I wish we both did not have feelings for the same one… But at most I want both of you to be happy… That is all I really want.  (She fires her arrow at another target).

Hamako: (Wonders over looking at Kairi).

Kairi: (Sees Hamako and becomes amazed).  Whoa you look like a water girl, are you mom’s spirit?

Hamako: Mama….  (She tilts her head to the side and then changes her form to what Cordelia looks like only in water form).

Kairi: (Looks even more amazed).  Whoa that is amazing!  I wish I could do that!

Hamako: (Goes back to her normal form and smiles walking forward knowing it alright as she stands beside Hiki).

Hiki: (She hears Jennifer for a second but cannot tell fully what she says.  She lets go of Chazz’s hand as she did not realize that she had grabbed onto it).

Chazz: (Takes notice as well but let’s it go for now knowing he has to talk to her about this).  Miss Kairi if you could do that, I’m sure that I could never find you when we all play hide and seek.

Rowen: (He chuckles at the comment).  True Hamako can be hard to find sometimes but it makes things interesting.

Kairi: Well, I think I am getting better at the shadow form thing so I can use that to hide now.

Shizen: She has come a long way for a beginning so recently.  It’s amazing how fast she is learning.

Kairi: (Blushes slightly and looks down).  Well… I want to be able to protect everyone like everyone else does all the time, so I want to try my best….

Jennifer: (Smiles and nods agreeing).

Rowen: And that is a good goal, now if you all would not mind would you all allow me to test your abilities thus far?

Jennifer: Alright, I think I have showed you what I can do with plants and animals so I guess I am done for now so someone else can have the spotlight.

Kairi: I do not mind but I still have a little trouble with sparring but Kura and Yami are helping me.  I am better at making barriers and the other things still feel off for some reason.  Should they come out?

Rowen: That shall be alright and in exchange I shall show you my spirit if you are able to reach the goal which is landing one scratch on me.

Chazz: (He shivers from the times he was told the same thing when he was training under Rowen).

Jennifer: (Remembers training with Rowen sometimes but does not remember ever seeing his spirit).

Shizen: (Ponders if it is a spirit, she knows already knowing the element).  Hmm well your element is clear from the seal you made on me when first meeting.  Hmm I am interested as well, it’s familiar somehow though.

Kairi: Alright then, I cannot wait to meet whoever it is.  (She smiles brightly and then pauses for a moment walking over as Kura and Yami appears on either side of her).

Kura: It is nice to see you again and I am glad there is not a misunderstanding this time.  (She bows politely to Rowen).

Yami: (As he stretches his arms out casually and shrugs).  Whatever, as long as he’s a strong challenge I don’t care.

Rowen: Oh, it might a challenge be mister Yami.  I will do my best not to disappoint you and lady Kura I apologize for my behavior from before.  I am sorry for the misunderstanding.  (He bows and kisses her hand properly).

Kura: (Smiles and curtsies again).  Why thank you I apologize if my brother gives you any troubles.  You have my permission to knock sense into him though teaching him manners will be a lost cause really, so please try to not take offense to it.

Yami: (Gets annoyed).  Yeah right, like he could!  Quite talking about me, I’m right here!

Rowen: Well, I will do that as we do this exercise so shall we move somewhere else?

Kairi: (Gives a confused look).  Where are we going?

Jennifer: (Looks a little concerned).  Try not to be too hard on her.

Hamako: (Sits by Hiki and Chazz as she watches with them her head tilted to figure out what is happening).

Rowen: Not too far, maybe in that forest nearby, the clearing or right in our estates yard.  Take your pick madam.  (He lays out his hands out to point in both directions).

Shizen: There are a few clear areas just beyond the forest.  The one I am thinking of is where I was helping Hiki and Tori with learning their third form.  It’s not too far, just go straight that way.  (She points in a direction the forest covers).

Kairi: I guess we could go there; I do not mind.  I think that was where Shizen was helping Hiki and Tori with their third form thing.

Kura: whatever you choose is fine with me.

Yami: Yeah whatever, I don’t care.

Rowen: (He peaks an interest after hearing of a third form).  Oh, really now?  This I must see but later Chazz, Hiki and Tori we shall discuss many things.  Right now, shall we be going then Mis Kairi.

Kairi: Alright I guess so; I will meet you there! (She smiles brightly and then she curtsies with Kura.  They then both run at a fast pace in the direction Shizen pointed at as a streak of shadow is left behind their path).

Yami: (Notices they took off suddenly and runs behind them taking energy to try and catch up).  Wait up!

Rowen: (He sighs).  So eager for a lesson I see, oh well this shall be interesting.

Jennifer: Like she said she wants to protect everything she cares about like everyone else, so it makes her determined

Shizen: I sometimes even see her train in the middle of the night, and I see her out there for a few hours at least… So much energy for such little sleep.

Rowen: (He cracks a smile).  Well, I will do my best to train her and have her reach her dream, but I should be going now as well as anyone who wishes to come with to watch.

Jennifer: I will if that is alright.  (She picks up her bow slinging it around her shoulder as she begins to walk in the direction Kairi had gone).

Shizen: I might as well, I mean perhaps if a handsome gentleman were to escort me to the area that would be quite nice as well.  (She smirks at Rowen).

Jennifer: (Pauses looking at Shizen and Rowen as she is next to Hiki at the moment saying to her).  Umm… Do you think… Is she flirting?

Hiki: (She pauses as well looking at Shizen).  I… I think she might be… It’s never been seen before in my eyes… What is going on?

Jennifer: I do not know… What is happening.

Shizen: (Offers her hand to Rowen so they can go to the clearing together).  Shall we?

Rowen: (He takes her arm instead, so they are arm and arm).  I shall follow your request then madam

Shizen: Why thank you.  (She smiles happily as they walk away).

Jennifer: (Is still standing there trying to figure out what is happening along with Hiki and Chazz while Hamako wonders the area and explores).  … Umm… So, when she mentioned drinks with him… Did she ask him out on a date…?

Hiki: I think she might have… I’m still processing everything though… What.

Jennifer: Yes… Let’s go watch how far Kairi has come… I hope Rowen is not too hard on her.

Chazz: I am not sure he will be, but I know he can be a tough teacher sometimes.  Let’s just watch and see what happens.

Jennifer: Very well, let’s go then.

 

Jennifer walks with Chazz, Hiki and Tori with Hamako following Hiki like a little duckling.  Kairi is working on creating a barrier with Kura helping her as Yami just stretches and puts his hands behind his head casually as they wait.

Yami: You know this old guy talks like he’s strong, but I’ll believe it when I see it.

Kura: Well, he seems strong so try not to get on his bad side.

Yami: Yeah, whatever it’s big talk to say to win I have to land a hit.  I think he’s making it not much of a challenge.

Kura: (Sighs).  Such an ego.

Rowen: (He arrives shortly after with Shizen beside him as they walk arm and arm getting to the clearing with the rest of the group shortly behind them).

Kairi: (Still focuses on her barrier trying to make it stronger).

Kura: (Smiles and nods her head towards them as a hello).

Yami: About time you got here.  (He scratches his head as he walks over).

Shizen: (Laughs a little).  Always so impatient.

Rowen: I can see that, now Yami why are you wanting to rush this now?

Yami: (Shrugs).  Ehh always ready for a fight or whatever so bring it.

Kura: He was born without patients.

Yami: (Gets an annoyed and grumpy look).  Hey!

Rowen: Well, we will get to that part later but first Miss Kairi what are you working on now?

Kairi: (Break out of her focus a little noticing Rowen is there).  Oh, I was just working on my barriers.

Shizen: It the skill she seems to do best at.

Kura: Yes, she can make it quite strong now, she is very good with defense.  She also does well with giving dark energy to another dark spirit as a support though her weakness lies in sparring and close combat with her weapon though she is improving.

Rowen: Ahh I see, it does seem to fit Mis Kairi’s style and I am guessing why she has you too as her spirits to handle the real offense.

Kura: Yes, though I tend to analyze the situation and think my way through a fight and Yami more rushes in without thinking.

Yami: (Shrugs).  Hey what’s there to think about, just got to strike with all you got.

Kura: Yes, he goes mostly by instinct but rushing in is not the best strategy really.

Yami: Hey it works.

Kura: (Sighs shaking her head with a small laugh as she pats his head messing his hair up a little not that it isn’t already in a messy style).

Rowen: (He does a light chuckle).  Well, it is true that it is better to think before you act but sometimes you must follow your instincts and trust them having little to no time to plan.

Kura: I suppose oh and do want to test Kairi with her barrier?  They are quite strong, and Tori had told me she blocked cannon fire with it.

Kairi: It was not like that… I mean it happened so fast and I jumped out without thinking….

Rowen: (He is silent from the statement for a long moment).  I feel like I should ask about that, but I will save that for Chazz in private… But yes, I would like to see it in action at least.

Shizen: I will explain it all over drinks tonight but it’s quite a long story.

Kairi: (Gives a confused look but then smiles).  Alright if you wish to but will it be like you hitting the barrier as a test or something?

Rowen: No, no nothing like that.  I just wish to see it is all.

Kairi: Oh alright.  (She puts her hands out in front of her and focuses as a barrier made of darkness.  It forms making anyone who looks through it seem like everything’s more shaded, the barrier set up closer to Rowen this time).  Like this?

Rowen: (Goes by the barrier as he taps on it a little bit).  Very well done indeed.

Kairi: (Smiles brightly and keeps her hands on the barrier making power flow through her arms to strengthen the barrier not realizing how much it really is strengthening.  She feels the energy under her feet move up her body to her hands which causes the unusual strength she has).

Rowen: (As he walks around, he starts to take small pieces of earth and surround it).

Kura: (Looks at the small pieces of earth Rowen plays with in his hand).  I guess your earth element then?

Rowen: (He starts to pile rocks and earth on top of the barrier which focusing intently on it).

Kairi: (Looks at Rowen from inside the barrier with a confused expression).  What are you doing?

Rowen: (He builds up more earth around her barrier like he is trying to put weight on it).

Shizen: (Looks at the earth now understanding what he is doing).

Kairi: (Keeps her hand on the barrier continuing the flow of energy to it, the barrier not seeming strained by the weight).

Rowen: (He keeps doing this until the earth fully covers her barrier).

Kairi: (Looks around the barrier that is completely covered making it pitch black for her sight but still focuses on the barrier to keep it strong as everyone looks at the barrier covered in earth that she is in).

Kura: If I hear the barrier cracking, I am stepping in.

Rowen: Why of course, I am not planning to take it that far.

Kairi: (Is heard sniffling a little the area getting a little dusty like she is about to sneeze).

Jennifer: (Looks at the barrier holding its form perfectly in amazement not realizing how far along Kairi had come).  That much be a lot of weight on it now, she is getting really good at that.

Kairi: (The sneeze starts to become hard to hold back.  She then lets it out and the earth on the barrier is blown away from her flying in all directions one rock heading right for the group while launching another big rock towards Rowen with a medium sized rock heading for Yami).

Shizen: (Holds off the debris with barely any effort with her own barrier shielding everyone who watches with her).

Yami: (The rock hits him in the head and shatters into pieces and he just scratches his head looking annoyed as he absorbs dark energy to heal himself faster from the strong impact, not seeming like he is hurt from how he had reacted).

Rowen: Thank you Shizen.  (As he molds the shards of earth back into the ground).  Now lady Kairi how did that feel?

Kairi: (Rubs her nose as she let’s go of the barrier looking quite amazed and confused).  Sorry I had to sneeze, but it felt alright just a little dusty.  What was that?  You made pieces of ground move on its own, it was really cool.

Rowen: Yes, the goal was to see how strong the barrier was and how long you could stay it under that type of pressure.  Those shards were just made from the ground we are standing on.

Chazz: I do not think you ever did that for me?

Rowen: Well, you were focused on combat not barriers and things of that sort, so I never needed to do that exercise with you.

Kairi: (Looks a little fascinated and curious with her first-time seeing earth element).  Did I do alright then?  It did feel a little heavy but it more was that it got stuffy in there.

Yami: Just watch where your sneezing next time will you?  (He rubs his head as he walks over).

Kura: (Sees that the back of Yami’s head is bleeding a little).  Umm Yami your heads bleeding….

Yami: Yeah whatever, it will heal.

Kairi: (Gives a concerned look towards Yami).  I am sorry, does it hurt?

Yami: (Shrugs).  Nah don’t worry about it.

Kura: You could have jumped out of the way instead of head butting a rock.

Yami: I can’t feel it anyways so not a big deal.

Hiki: Are you sure you don’t need me to look at it at all Yami?

Yami: (Still crosses his arm stubbornly).  Why bother, no big deal.

Kura: (Sighs).  He would say that even if he broke every bone he had.

Yami: Not like that’s a big deal either.  I could deal with it.

Shizen: (Sighs and walks over to Rowen to explain to him).  He can’t feel pain because of his past so getting hurt does not faze him too much.  He will keep getting up and charging no matter what… quite a stubborn little one.

Rowen: I see then, well that will come in handy for the next exercise then, wouldn’t it?

Shizen: (Gives an interested look and nods as she goes back with everyone else to let Rowen continue training Kairi, Kura, and Yami as Kura and Yami argue like a normal brother and sister would).

Rowen: Alright Miss Kairi do you wish to get started with the next exercise or are you done for today which is fine as well.

Kairi: (Looks at Rowen and smiles up at him looking determined as Kura and Yami stand on either side of her).  No, I can keep going, what do I need to do now?

Rowen: (He smiles as well).  Well, this would be Yami’s favorite part I would assume so he should be excited.

Yami: (Had looked bored from everything until this is said looking slightly more interested).

Kairi: Does that mean we are sparring then?

Kura: (Laughs).  Well, what else would little Yami get excited about?

Yami: (Gets annoyed by the nickname once again).  Hey, I’m not little you, want to fight!

Kura: Well, it would be a fight you would lose.

Yami: (Places his hands on both his knifes grabbing the hilt but still in the sheath).

Kairi: … It alright, this happens a lot.  (She says to Rowen as she looks at both Kura and Yami as they begin to fight verbally again taunting each other).

Kura and Yami: (Kura is teasing Yami making him even more annoyed and take a little darkness, Rowen noticing it is not taken from any a particular area like Kairi and Kura did but from all around him even Chazz and Tori a little).

Rowen: Oh, I am aware.  I was told by Tori that this happens but let me do a little wakeup call then.  (He backs away from Kairi for a little bit as he stomps his foot into the ground causing it to vibrate for everyone in the small area they are in).  Do you I have your attention now?

Kura: (Tries to keep her balance as the earth shakes looking at Rowen and curtsies in an apology).  Yes, my apologies.

Yami: (Falls backwards and sits up looking more annoyed as he looks at Rowen).  Hey what’s the big idea, she started it!

Kura: You’re the one who gets angered so easily.

Yami: Hey shut it, you’re still the one who started it!

Rowen: Well, I needed your full attention now.  If you don’t like it than I can provide a better example if you like.

Yami: (As he stands up and scratches his head saying casually).  Yeah, like what?  You going to make the ground shake again?  Look if you’re trying to be intimidating it not really working.

Kura: (Sighs).  Such an idiot, please try not to say things without thinking.

Yami: Hey take that back, am not!

Rowen: Well, you shall see Yami, no need to assert how tough you are by shaking everything off which I see you do quite often with the little time I have observed you.  In reality you can be very sensitive, can’t you?

Yami: (Eyes widen for just a second and then he goes back to normal while looking away).  Yeah right, toughs all I got.  I learned that before I got here.  Living on the streets there’s nothing more than that really.  Just how I survived.  (He shrugs).

Kura: (Her expression softens looking at Yami petting his hair a little as Yami looks down for a second).

Rowen: I see then, I am sorry if I had talked about a sensitive area but moving on, we shall do a quick sparring match if you three want.  If not, that is quite alright as well.

Kura: all three of us against one?

Kairi: I know more support though if that is alright, but I can try sparring too if you want me to.

Yami: (Smirks getting into more of a fighting stance with his feet).  Well bring it, I’ll take you on by myself.

Rowen: We could single type of sparring, I find no problem with that.  It all depends on your choices.

Kura: Hmm if you think that is best though Yami why don’t you go last.

Yami: What no fair!

Kura: Well, you tend to go overboard so I think its best.

Yami: (Mumbles to himself that it’s not fair still).

Kura: Hmm either me or Kairi can spar first.  Kairi how comfortable do you think you feel with sparring?

Kairi: I guess I am getting a little better, but it is still harder to attack because I do not want to hurt anyone and it is hard to keep track of everything.  (She looks down).

Rowen: You do not need to focus offense at all if you do not wish to Mis Kairi.  No need to worry about it.

Kairi: Alright, maybe I will try after them and I promise to do my best.  (She gives a determined look).

Kura: Very well, then that leaves Yami and I.  Yes, if we teamed up we would do well, me being more defensive and him offensive but that usually would end up with us fighting each other so I am thinking that would not be wise.

Yami: Not like I would need help.

Rowen: You two can chose on how to do it since I am just the teacher here.  Just chose what you want to learn.

Kairi: (Nods and smiles as she goes to sit down next to Tori and Hamako playing with her a little). 

Kura: (Thinks for a moment).  Perhaps do a little of both and tag in the other as well so a little of one on one as well as fighting together in the beginning.  Does that sound fine?

Yami: (Shrugs).  Sure, doesn’t matter to me.

Rowen: Alright then my new question is who goes first?  (He sits down on a nearby rock).

Kura: (Pauses for a second then sighs and steps forward).  I suppose I will go first.

Yami: Fine as long as I get my turn.

Rowen: (He stands up as he walks forward a bit).  Well then Kura what is your focus?  What do you feel you need to work?  Or is it a normal spar?

Tori: He is very detailed so that you reach the potential he knows you can reach.

Kura: Very well, I am fine with that hmm… My abilities are not very offensive, but I am the one teaching Kairi barriers and know that quite well.  I also know some healing, but I only can heal dark spirits well so far.  I also have the ability to take darkness like Yami but more controlled yet less strong by a great deal… Hmm what else, ahh yes, I guess my fighting is more magic based but only of darkness.  I have no other element in me.  Does that help?

Rowen: Well, it gave me a good amount of information, but it does not answer my original question.  How are we doing this training session?  Do you want to do more offense of defense?  We will then work around that.

Kura: (Pauses to think).  Hmm I am not sure.  I guess I could try a little of both offense and defense.  It is not completely out of my comfort zone but still challenging, does that sound fine?

Rowen: So, a normal sparring match, is that alright with you?

Kura: Very well, that is fine though I must warn you I tend to be competitive like my little brother but more polite about it.  (She unsheathes her knife and bows to Rowen with a small smirk).

Rowen: Alright then.  (He pulls out of his pocket a metal arm band that when put over his arms change to covers his arms from shoulder to to his knuckle as he bows as well).

Kura: (Gives an interested look watching Rowen closely especially the metal armor on his arms).  Very interesting and shall I attack first then?

Rowen: If you would want too.

Kura: Very well then.  (She gets into her fighting stance and moves in an instant to slash at Rowen with her knife at a very fast pace close to Hiki’s speed but not quite as fast as still).

Rowen: (He moves at ease as he grabs her arm and throws her away from him without moving from his spot).

Kura: (Pauses for a second looking at Rowen seeming like her mind is making a plan and then sheaths her dagger making some signs with her hands creating balls of darkness made of what looks like that some magic as a barrier that she throws at him watching his movements closely).

Rowen: (He does the same creating a barrier with earth as he creates a wall of earth in front of him to block the orbs).

Kura: (Dodges barely as rocks shoot out from the rock barrier and she moves her hands up in a different sign.  The balls of darkness then hit the earth wall melding into the shadow it casts and creeping around towards Rowen).

Rowen: (He avoids Kura again and he slams the ground to knock her off balance).

Kura: (Stumbles back trying to get her balance but falling backwards using a barrier that forms around her to catch herself).

Rowen: (He speeds forward as he grabs her arm and knocks her knife out her hand that she tries to use to block him as he holds earth shards in his hand).

Kura: (Kicks Rowen on the side seeing that it doesn’t faze him keeping calm and levelheaded as she uses an arm to block any incoming attacks with a barrier formed over it).  Not bad at all, quite impressive even.

Rowen: I am not done yet….  (He then sends piles of dirt to travel with him as he charges at Kura).

Kura: (Strengthens her barrier placing both hands on it to block him putting everything she has into the barriers strength).

Rowen: (He is able to destroy the barrier with ease though he does not show how impressed he is when it held steady for a few seconds).

Kura: (Her eyes widen as she flips backwards darkness gathering onto her arm creating a pitch black like barrier on her arm to block again.  Her eyes change into red and black and Yami’s does as well sitting on the side as he watches them intently.  The barrier forms a shield breaking the darkness covering the shield being black with a red gem at the center with a gothic design because of the color).

Rowen: You have gotten quite serious now, haven’t you?

Kura: (Smirks).  Well, I said I was competitive, didn’t I?

Rowen: True you did but that does not mean I will not get serious as well.  (He smirks as his arms gauntlets start to have this shade of silver but still rough like stone).

Shizen: (Looks at Rowen eyes raising in interest as she senses something familiar to her in the power he holds).  Interesting….

Kura: (Braces for an impact readying her shield as she continues to smirk).  Bring it.

Yami: (Steps forward as he unsheathes his knives and one shrouded in darkness).

Rowen: One moment… Yami you can join in as well now.

Yami: Was going to anyways, fights getting good.  (The knife shrouded in darkness points a Rowen as he stands next to Kura with a grin).

Kura: (Sighs).  Very well but if you rush in again, I might as well leave you to fight him yourself.

Yami: (Smirks).  Yeah, and who says I can’t handle that?

Kura: (Sighs but smiles).  You never learn Yami.

Rowen: It is really up to you two of how you choose to do this.  Wither way both of you will learn a lesson.

Kura: Very well, I am fine with that.  We will team up for a little bit to learn this lesson.

Yami: Yeah, what lesson is that.  (As he crosses his arms looking skeptical).

Rowen: Do not underestimate your opponent.  (He appears behind them as he grabs them both and throws them into each other across from him).

Yami: (Grabs at the ground to stop himself from flying back from the throw grabbing Kura’s hand to catch her getting balanced as Kura does the same a little after him.  He throws a throwing dagger at Rowen with a streak of darkness behind it).  Is that supposed to scare me?

Rowen: Not at all, it was meant to get both of you away from everyone else and to get you motivated… Hit me with everything you have.  (Puts himself into a new defensive position).

Yami: Yeah, let’s see if you’re as strong as you act.  (He charges in at Rowen immediately going into offense).

Kura: Always rushing in.  (She sighs but then is right behind Yami charging at Rowen as well and readying her shield to block for Yami as he attacks).

Rowen: (Charges in as well blocking both of their attacks as he sends rocks to attack with him like they are thrown by just a flick of his wrist close behind Kura and Yami).

Kura: (Uses a barrier to try and hold off the rocks flying at them but having to back up).

Yami: (Slashes at Rowen directly and repeatedly with less speed than Kura but a lot more power in his attacks as he tries to break Rowen’s defenses).

Rowen: (His gauntlets start to glow the more Yami hits them also becoming much more metal like).

Yami: (Continues to slash at Rowen jumping up once to try and do a jump kick impressively high aimed at his head looking very determined as he starts to take a little darkness energy from around him).

Kura: (Stays behind Yami as back up as she looks at the gauntlets closely being very focused).

Shizen: (Creates a barrier around everyone watching so that Chazz and Tori are not affected by the darkness Yami takes).

Rowen: (He smirks).  So impatient, aren’t you?  Now Orion… Earth surge.  (As he says this kinetic energy form Yami’s attacks flies back at him as the gauntlets gain a earth type symbol on the part covering his fists).

Yami: (Flies back into Kura who catches him but flies far back as well into a tree).

Kura: (Is a little out of it hitting the tree, the area spinning in her head a little).

Yami: (Gets up stiffly helping Kura up as well to sit out for a little bit when he realizes how hard of a hit she had taken.  He readies himself to fight again as he grins knowing it’s a challenge now).  Not bad for an old guy.

Shizen: (Looks at Rowen and the earth symbol in so much shock that if she were drinking something she would of spit it out in laughter with surprise but then bursts into laughter as everyone watching with her looks at her with confusion).  Of course, it’s you.

Rowen: Want to try me again young one?  (He gets back into a fighting stance).

Yami: (Smirks).  Kura mind if I take over for a bit?

Kura: (Looks at Yami knowing how he gets when fighting).  Very well but try not to go to overboard… On second thought never mind, you will anyways.  (She laughs a little).

Yami: Thanks.  (He steps forward into a fighting stance as he readies himself, smirking more at Rowen).  Bring it!

Rowen: As you wish.  (He follows through as he jumps above Yami and starts to shoot little shards of metal from his gauntlets).

Yami: (Blocks best he can put gets a few small cuts as he jumps to slash Rowen with his one of his knives putting all his strength into his strikes he has at the moment).

Rowen: (He blocks the attacks as he is pushing Yami with a punch into his stomach to push him away).

Yami: (Coughs a little as he is pushed back but stands stiffly catching his breath at first.  He then absorbs a little darkness again charges in again throwing a throwing dagger and then trying to break past Rowen’s strong defense again).

Rowen: (He blocks the dagger and gathers stone around his fists to make an earth shield cover on one arm).

Yami: (As he slashes at the shield the impact of it makes one of his swords go flying and he curses using the other knife to strike as darkness starts to flow into him a little more rapidly).

Rowen: (He knocks him down again as his arms become more blade like around the fist of his gauntlets).

Yami: (Hits the ground hard but still gets back up stiffly again not giving up as her charges again.  Darkness surrounds his hand which he uses to punch the shield with at full force shouting as he does this putting all his power into it that he is absorbing).

Rowen: (The shield breaks as the kinetic energy explodes in-between the both of them.  He then defends Yami so he would not get hurt too badly by putting sand behind them both to cushion their landing)

Yami: (Smirks as he sits up a bit from his fall as he breaths heavily).  Looks… Like I… Broke through.

Rowen: (Smirks as well as he lays his head back).  I guess you did young one.

Yami: (Grins as he stands up unsteadily).  Well, are we still fighting or are we done here?  I could keep at it all day if I had to.

Rowen: I think we are done for now.

Yami: Fine but next time I won’t hold back as much. (He laughs as he starts to walk back though it is obvious, he had pushed himself).

Kura: (Laughs as she walks to be besides Yami patting his head).  You will never change Yami, always such a big ego.

Yami: hey what’s that supposed to mean?

Rowen: (Comes up behind Yami and taps his shoulder seeing the stiffness in his body).  Whatever you say Yami.

Yami: Bring it!  I’ll just get the energy back and fight on that!  (He absorbs darkness again as they walk back his body slowly recovering this way it being noticeable that he heals faster than any normal person on their own).

Kura: True that ability makes him quite hard to keep down but also it can be a bad side to it as well since he cannot regain his energy on his own only this way.  It is dangerous for him to have it sealed for more than a day if that were to happen.

Yami: Yeah… I guess.  (Looks down and away but only for a moment before going back to normal).

Rowen: But that is also his weakness in a fight.

Yami: Yeah, and how is that?  It keeps me alive, so I don’t see how that’s a weakness.  (He shrugs).

Rowen: You rely too much on it.  It is the only thing that keeps you going, and you focus on that to overpower someone.  If I had done a full power match I would have won or if we were away from any dark areas than I still would have won since your skills are all mostly focused on that skill.  Do not get me wrong though it is a great ability with potential but because of all of the drawbacks and the obvious course of action you will take it makes it easier for the enemy to get a good opportunity to gain the upper hand.

Yami: Yeah well, it’s all I got… To tell you the truth I hate that ability.  Because of that I’m hated, and I killed a lot just by getting angry or upset in a alleyway so if I could get rid of it I would but at least here I’m not hated… Been a long time since I was accepted like now.  (He looks away with a small frown as he shrugs).

Kura: (Frown and hugs Yami but not for long since they are approaching the rest of the group but still pets his head looking at him with concern).

Rowen: I see… Well, if you would want to I can help teach you how to be more effective in combat.

Yami: Yeah… sure I need to get stronger so why not… I need to or else… I’m not sure forget.  It’s just a bad feeling….  (He turns away and starts to walk away Kura following right behind him wondering what he meant fully being worried).

Rowen: Alright… Well, that is that, is there anything that we have missed for you or are we done for today?

Kura: I don’t think so, thank you for the sparring match.  (She nods to everyone watching that they are done).

Shizen: (She lets down the barrier).

Kairi: (Runs over hugging Kura and Yami with a bright smile).

Jennifer: (Smiles as she walks over as well towards Rowen).  I guess it went alright then I see.

Rowen: I guess it did since everyone learned something even if I did not have to do anything too much….  (He looks down regretting that he had missed much of the beginning of their training).

Chazz: (He walks up to Rowen).  I would assume so, but we will see what happens since you do a good job of being a teacher when you are able to.  I would know since you were there for me and Hiki and Tori.

Hiki and Tori: (they both smile as they are behind Chazz).

Hamako: (Is behind Hiki having been attached to her since first meeting her following her like a little duckling).

Shizen: It is only their first lesson and you needed to judge the skills that have now but….  (She pauses as she looks at Rowen closely as if looking for something).

Rowen: True it was their first lesson with me but I feel somewhat uneasy, but I will leave it at that for right now.

Kairi: As long as no one gets hurt.

Shizen: Hmm very well…. Now pardon me but Orion get out here.  If you keep hiding like this I’ll force you out myself if I have to!  (She says this sternly as she crosses her arms looking at Rowen.  It is clear she is not talking to him as everyone looks at her with confusion).

?????: (Suddenly an older looking spirit about Shizen’s age with a rugged look to him with his brown yet greying hair appears behind Rowen.  He is a very tall and strong looking man with muscles to prove his strength making him seem intimidating at first because of this.  He has a wide grin as he appears to wear clothes similar to Rowen’s but with an earth symbol medallion worn on his chest.  He has a deep and masculine tone to his voice as he speaks).  What do you mean Shizen!

Shizen: Oh, don’t be like that!  I see you lost some of your brown hair, what happened?  Is age catching up with you?  Haven’t lost any of the that strength, have you?  (She steps closer to the slightly older spirit with a serious look but also slightly intimidating).

?????: I’m not sure.  I can see that you lost most of your charm that you had so long ago coming with your age.

Shizen: (Gets a small smile but no one sees that beside the one she talks to only hearing the slightly intimidating tone).  Now then quite rude to say to a lady.  I have grown fond of the grey hair, oh well.  I hope your spirits are not turning on mine. I saw a few with fire or are you still my ally?

Jennifer: (Looks from Shizen to the man standing in front of her being confused as it would seem that they know each other as she whispers to Hiki).  I am confused, who is that?  They seem to know each other but are they enemies?

?????: (He is grins that everyone can see).  Oh, really now?  The last time I checked you did not agree so well with everyone since you almost destroyed most of the capital now, didn’t you?  Then again, I always thought it needed a makeover anyways so there is no concern there.

Shizen: Well I have to say I had good reason.  It is not easy to keep me locked up.  Quite some nerve of them, they should know of my rebellious nature.  (She laughs as she punches his arm quite hard).  It’s good to see you Orion, it’s been so long.

Orion: (He smiles and laughs a bit as he rubs Shizen’s head messing up her hair a little bit).  Well I know that and I always wanted to remodel the place so I’m ok with it.  It’s good to see you too Shizen.

Shizen: Well glad to know it was not too much trouble then.

Jennifer: (Walks up behind Shizen with even more confusion).  You know this man then?

Shizen: (Grins as she pats Orion on the shoulder).  Why of course, council members know each other quite well.

Jennifer: (Gives a surprised look, looking at Orion).  Wait council member?

Hiki: (She walks up behind Jennifer).  Hi Orion, long time no see!

Orion: Hello Hiki, yes it has been a while.  How is everyone doing and yes, I am a council member alongside Shizen.

Hiki: (She smiles).  Yes, everyone is doing well since you probably know everything that has happened so far.

Kairi: Wow then you’re the earth council member!  (She smiles brightly at Orion though she has feels they had met before when she was very small).

Shizen: Good then I will not have to catch you up as much but yes, he is like a big brother to me.  Earth, nature, and water has always been close allies.

Jennifer: Well, it is nice to meet you Orion.  (She smiles and bows).

Hamako: (Skips over to Orion with a smile as if she knows him as she tries to say his name correctly having done that with Hiki calling her Hika).  O-Ry.

Orion: (He bows as he kisses Jennifer’s hand).  Thank you, Jennifer… As it’s also a pleasure to meet you as well.

Rowen: Well then forward as ever now, aren’t you?

Jennifer: Ymm I… Why thank you.  (She blushes slightly while backing up having not expected that).

Shizen: He always has been, it’s alright.  Just hit him over the head.

Kairi: But wouldn’t that hurt, it does not seem nice.

Shizen: (Knocks on Orion’s head a few times and laughs).  It’s fine, he’s quite hardheaded.

Orion: What do you mean?  I’m only showing my respect.

Shizen: (Looks at Orion like she is not buying it).  Uh huh right.

Kura: (Her eyes are back to red with no black to hide nudging Yami to do the same but doesn’t get the hint getting annoyed when he’s pushed before he gets it).  Well either way it is nice to meet you council member.  (She bows to Orion).

Shizen: You don’t need to hide from him, it’s alright.  He’s the kind of person who listens to everything before giving judgment so you can trust him.

Kura and Yami: (Look at each other being unsure since they are still cautious around others they do not know for obvious reasons).

Orion: Yes, so you two have nothing to hide from me really since I know most what happened before hand since I met your families as well as Shizen.

Kura and Yami: (Looks at each other before they sigh, and their eyes go back to red and black looking at Orion).

Kura: Very well, I suppose there is no point in hiding then if you know us.

Yami: Yeah, I guess… As long as you don’t think I’m a monster I’m fine with it.  (He shrugs hiding that he frowns by looking away).

Orion: Now why would I think that?  I know about Agni and his scheme since I overheard him talking about some things before council meetings with someone else.  I’m not sure who but maybe it was Izumi at the time.

Yami: (Looks at Orion becoming very surprised).  Dad did… I guess….  (His fist clench as he looks away).  I guess not everyone thinks he was a monster… Still doesn’t change that I am… So, I don’t blame anyone really if they think that.  (He begins to walk away as its clear something is bothering him that has been with him for a long time).

Kura: Yami wait!  (She rushes after Yami with concern).

Chazz: (He looks at Yami then at his spirits as he is the first one to follow Kura and Yami as Hiki and Tori soon follow as everyone else stays behind).

Yami: (Goes into the forest heading towards a shadowy area.  He then starts hopping from tree to tree with Kura close behind but also seeing Chazz, Hiki and Tori not wanting them to see his weakness.  He looks away holding back his emotions as he runs).  Just… Go away… Just need a minute… It’s no big deal.

Chazz: Yami… I think it may be a big deal if you are getting like this now, isn’t it?

Tori: Yeah, come on… I thought we did everything to help make you more at ease.

Yami: (Yells back at them as he stops running from tree to tree standing on one branch as Kura places a hand on his shoulder understandingly).  But what happens when this ends and I’m back on the street huh!  I’m back where I started being a street rat that hunted like it’s a sport!  And even if I don’t have to deal with that now… I don’t know how to explain it… It’s a bad feeling… I always thought my dad chose to leave… I took his happiness away so I can’t blame him… But what if the same happens to me….

Kura: He didn’t hate you Yami, he loved all of us.  He just lost his senses from sadness.

Yami: (Punches the tree destroying some of it).  And why did he become like that!

Tori: I may not have known enough about your dad, but I know this from the things I had seen him do… He didn’t hate you.  He did everything he could to cope with the loss… He couldn’t accept it at first… But maybe he wanted to accept you because your mother wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

Yami: Well, he didn’t get the choice did he and why would he leave then… And if he was held captive… Then… Won’t the same thing happen to me… Even if I don’t want it to… No matter how strong I get or even if I can control my ability which I still can’t….  (Hops down and sits under the tree looking away glancing at his ability that had gone out of control from his outburst).

Kura: (Sits behind Yami with her hand on his back with a upset expression).  I won’t let that happen to you Yami… You’re not going anywhere.  I will protect you no matter what.

Yami: … Don’t do that… I wouldn’t drag anyone here into it… So if I am taken… Don’t come after me got it.  I don’t care what happens to me… It’s like I have a family again and I can’t watch them go… not again.

Kura: (Shouts a little as she starts to cry).  No Yami I promised I would keep you safe!  Nothing’s going to take you away!

Yami: I know… I just don’t want everyone to go away again… I want you and everyone else to be safe… And I don’t want to be the reason everyone isn’t….

Hiki: Yami… You might actually be speaking silliness… All of us would come after you in a heartbeat

Chazz: Even when I and the ladies have met our time of death… You will still find a home to be with anyone that is a spirit… We will all make sure of that… They won’t leave you alone again… They are always going to be there for you.

Yami: (Looks down his face not showing but shoulders shaking).  Please… I don’t want bad things to happen to you guys even if you’re not around that long… I just don’t want to lose everything… Not again.

Kura: (Looks at Yami wiping her eyes now understanding what he means and fears).  … Yami… You may act like you tough, and nothing bothers you… But truth is… Your scared aren’t you… Of being alone… Yes, I understand what you’re saying… But I think inside there’s a little boy you hide from the world that’s just scared… Scared of being alone… scared of the thought of even becoming the monster you fear you could be… scared of Agni’s words to you.  You’re still the little boy in fact.

Yami: (Is silent for a moment back still turned but it’s obvious he’s not saying how he really feels in some parts).  I’m… I’m not scared of him… I hate him… And I’ll fight him every step if it comes to that… And I’m not scared… I don’t want to be a monster… I’m… not scared….

Chazz: (He walks up to Yami and holds his shoulders).  If you are alone… We will run to you… If you are scared… We will comfort to you… If you disappear… We will find you… Do not ever believe that we will sit there doing nothing while you are alone… I was alone and so were Hiki and Tori in their own ways… We will all come running to you no matter what and pick you right back up from the ground and do everything we can so that you are back with us… Do not ever forget it.

Hiki and Tori: (Both smile at Yami as Chazz says this, each putting their hands on Chazz’s shoulder).

Kura: (Has her hand on Yami’s other shoulder as she smiles at him but is still teary eyed).  We are right here Yami… We won’t leave… I promise we will do everything to make sure your safe.

Yami: (Still has his back turned but they can see tears are falling to the ground as he looks up.  He cannot say much, his voice shaky but with less fear with his emotions overwhelming him that he kept in for so long).  … Thanks….

 

After Yami’s breakdown they stay there for a little more time before the walk back with Kura holding Yami while petting his head.  They make it to the clearing seeing a few less people Hamako and Jennifer not being there and Shizen talking to Orion nearby explaining all that has happened and why Yami had acted in such a way to him and Kura as well as all the other members of the little group.  She also just enjoys catching up on their adventures together as well with a grin.

Kairi: (Sees Kura and Yami and rushes over with a worried look as she hugs him along with Kura worriedly).  … Yami….

Yami: Yeah, don’t worry about it, I’m better now.  Just some stuff I had to deal with.

Kairi: If you are sure….  (Smiles but still looks at him with worry).  Where are Chazz, Hiki and Tori?

Kura: They went back to the mansion since they had noticed Jennifer had gone back.

Kairi: Oh, our mom came over and had something to talk about with her I guess so they went back.  (She looks at Rowen who was helping her train).  Wonder what she needed to talk to sis about, it sounded important.

Rowen: (He looks down for a second).  I think I may know what it is going to be about, and she will not like hearing it at all.

Kairi: (Gives a confused look).  What is wrong? is it something to do with noble duties… I kind of skipped my classes the last week or so on that… Sorry.  (She looks down a little apologetically).

Kura: Well, I imagine nobles have a lot of responsibilities that it must be stressful.  Especially if one is the first born into a main branch of a family… There must be a lot of attention towards her and her choices… I can’t imagine that’s easy.

Kairi: Oh… Yes… I guess so… I wish I could help.  Maybe I can learn how to do that paperwork she works on… Or maybe something else.  (She starts to think of ways to help her sister).

Rowen: (He chuckles a bit as he pets Kairi’s head).  There is some truth, there is a lot of weight on Mis Jennifer’s shoulders right now, but I am pretty sure that Chazz does his best to make them very light for her

Orion: Something like that since he does his best with everything, he can do for her and maybe you could learn on how to help with that.  We shall see what happens.

Kairi: Alright I will do my best to help as well.  (She gives a determined look).

Shizen: Yes, and we should start heading back now I would think.

Kura: Very well, it is getting a little late in the day anyways.  (She nods and starts to leave with Kairi and Yami an arm still around his shoulder tightly).

Shizen: (Gives Orion a hug).  Very well then Orion, it was nice to see you after so long and Rowen I will see you tonight for drinks.  (She smiles at Rowen with a wink but leaves before he can respond).

Rowen: Yes, yes, I shall meet you later Shizen.

Orion: (He looks at Rowen and Shizen and nudges him with a look as if saying good job).

 

Back at the mansion everything seems calm and quiet as everyone catches up on their duties or get dinner ready.  Some are still rushing around the halls to try and make everything perfect now that the head butler is home to have eyes on them.  One thing that does seem out of place is that it is very quiet, not usually being this quiet this time of day.  Tori is bringing towels back from the laundry room and into the male bathrooms for Hiki when he hears what sounds like fighting coming from Cordelia’s study from her and Jennifer as he passes.

Jennifer: It is not fair why!  Was I not given any notice!

Cordelia: You were sent letters about this, but you ignored them.  Your father and the elders of this family have made the decision for you… I am sorry I tried-.

Jennifer: No, it is not fair!  It is my choice!  I want to stay here!  I do not even know this person; I only saw him a few times at a party, and he was stuck up thinking he could get anything he wanted!  That is not the type of man I want to have my hand.

Cordelia: Yes, but also, he comes from a very rich and powerful family that could help our families grow so that is why… Look I am sorry… I was opposed to it and can see how much you are growing into a wonderful lady, but you also have a responsibility to your family, and you have not become betrothed at this point.  If you could have found someone even if not of noble birth, I would be fine with it but it is not my say.  Time has run out unless you find someone before this short time but we both know that is very difficult.

Jennifer: (A sadness in defeat is heard in her voice).  I… Understand… It is not fair… But I have no choice… I understand, I just wish I had more time.  I do not want them to look at Kairi though.

Cordelia: I did to at your age… The same thing happened to me at your age, but you are a strong young woman.  Very independent and I know you would have found someone, but this family has a habit of making those choices for you of what they think is best… I am sorry… I can see that you have grown so much being here, and I do not want that to stop.

Tori: (As he steps away from the door, he can hear the sadness in both of their voices.  He goes back to his duty for right now as fast as he can so he can meet up with Chazz and Hiki about this).

 

Not much later Jennifer leaves the study before Tori has told Chazz and Hiki.  Jennifer walks slowly through the halls looking down in sadness not knowing what to do or how to deal with the news she had been given.  Chazz and Hiki see her a little way in the hall walking towards them, but they can tell she is upset not being aware they are there since she is not looking up.  She suddenly hugs Chazz when he is about to ask what is wrong. 

Jennifer: I just wanted to say… I have really loved you for a long time… But I have to go… I have had so fun here though.  (Without another word she runs into her room and locks it).

Chazz: (Is confused as what she means as Hiki is as well).  I cannot accept that… I cannot in this way at all.  (He starts to walk towards Cordelia’s room to learn what has happened).

Cordelia: (Is still in the study sitting her chair thinking as she looks out the window with a small frown.  All the sudden she hears a knock at her door instantly sitting up and organizing the papers on her desk).  Come in.

Chazz: (He enters the study with Hiki in a rush with a worried look on her face).  Madam Cordelia why did lady Jennifer look so depressed moments ago.

Cordelia: (Looks at Chazz and Hiki for a moment pause in sadness and then looks down).  Oh, I see, so she is taking it quite hard then….  (She sighs and settles back down putting her papers away besides her as she motions to chairs at the other side of the desk).  Have a seat then, this will take some explaining.

Chazz: (He sits down with Hiki as he is hoping he will get some answers of what is going on).

Cordelia: (Sighs again and looks out the window not able to look at Chazz and Hiki as she starts to explain).  As you know nobles have a lot of responsibility and traditions which some have turned into laws.  Even though some are not liked we still have no choice but to follow.  One of those is the age a noble woman like Jennifer is to become betrothed and further along married usually starting at 16, but Jennifer being a little past 18 has not chosen one of the many suitors that have taken an interest in her.  Once she reached 18 the time for her decision had come up and unless she could find a suitor to become betrothed to before she leaves then she will be sent to the noble who the elders and head of the family had agreed with for her to be betrothed and married to… So, she is betrothed now to a suitor of higher noble ranking….

Chazz: (He is silent for a moment while he tightens his grip and stands up).  Lady Cordelia… That means she would be leaving right?  Then if those are your laws all she would have to do is become engaged today in order for her stay here right…?

Cordelia: (Looks at Chazz with a expression of being not sure where he is going with this just yet).  Yes I think that is correct and then married before her 19th birthday.  That is not that soon still and perhaps I can stall until 20 but I cannot be too sure….

Chazz: I see, well I will have my leave than and madam, I hope you can stall for another hour.  (As he says that he walks out of the room and passes Tori).

Tori: (Sees a very serious face on Chazz as he does not want to get in his way).

Chazz: (Is walking to Jennifer’s room he hears crying but not from Jennifer but from Kairi who sits in front of the door wiping her eyes as she looks down with a very sad expression.  He walks up to Kairi and kneels down to her level).  Mis Kairi what is wrong?

Kairi: (Says as she looks up at Chazz with tears going down her face).  Sis said she… She was leaving and… Had a suitcase and… And said there was no other way, and she would visit as much as possible… She looked so sad… I never been without her around… She always was here… I do not know what to do… I do not want to say goodbye… She left a little bit ago… do not go….  (She brings her legs up to hide her face in her knees not knowing what to do).

Chazz: She just left… Do not worry Kairi, I will get her back.  (As he is leaving through the front entrance he runs into Rowen).

Rowen: And where do you think you are going Chazz?

Chazz: I am going to retrieve Lady Jennifer.  (He tries to get past Rowen but fails).

Rowen: I think you do not need to since she is being taken to her new home with another family.  There is no need for you to go.

Chazz: Yet at the same time I have something to tell her.

Rowen: (Sees a fire in Chazz’s eyes).  I see and what do you need to do so badly that you are trying to defy this order.

Chazz: Something so important that I will defy it all since you can say it is a request from Lady Kairi.

Kura: (Is in the hall as well as she starts to think and calculate in her head not wanting Jennifer to go either).  I saw her carriage leave not long ago.  She should be a few minutes from the town road, but I don’t know which road the carriage takes.  At most you have 2 minutes before she is gone, and she is a 10-minute carriage drive away.  Do you think you can make it?

Kairi: Please… I do not want sis to go away… Please.

Chazz: I should be able to make it.  Rowen I am sorry, but this is something I have to do now.  I said I would do everything I can to keep her safe and this is one of those moments because her being here will be great for everyone and herself.

Rowen: (He sighs as he steps out of the way of Chazz knowing he cannot stop him).  fine, do what you must, and I will take care of the consequences.

Cordelia: (Walks to them standing in the hall beside Rowen).  No, it is my responsibility with my daughter.  Let me take care of it and try to make something work but I have no promises.

Kairi: (Still is teary eyed but hope in her eyes thanks to Chazz).  So, sis is coming back?

Cordelia: Yes, I will see what I can do to help her stay.  I am sorry, I wish I could do more.

Chazz: (He shakes his head yes as he runs out of the house in a black and white color streak behind him).

Cordelia: (Sighs).  Well, I will get the paperwork then, but he is right.  She has grown so much being here with this little group and that should not stop.  Besides you would miss your date tonight with Shizen if she were to leave.  (She laughs a little patting Rowen’s shoulder as she walks back, and Kura takes Kairi with a reassuring smile).

Rowen: Yes, yes, let me come and help you with the paper’s madam at least.  (He follows Cordelia as he sees Hiki and Tori watching from the front door).

 

Chazz is running around the town looking for the carriage and where she could be thinking over and over again until he sees something that looks like hers and chases after it immediately.  As Jennifer sits in her carriage going out of town, she looks down with a frown not knowing how to deal with leaving.  How much she would miss everyone saying goodbye to the best friend she ever had.  Hiki, her little sister Kairi that she cares so much for, and the spirits Kairi has that were reunited because of her.  She knows Tori will take good care of her and hoping Shizen’s not to upset they are leaving as well.  Then thoughts flood her mind of where she is going not wanting to be betrothed like this as thoughts of Chazz pop into her mind.  She remembers the good times she had with her butler that she had fallen for yet never to expect anything more.

Chazz: (He gets close to the carriage that he thinks Jennifer is in and yells out).  Jennifer!

Jennifer: (Perks up hearing her name called out loudly by Chazz thinking it is in her head she looks out the window of the carriage in shock but part of her feeling pure joy just from hearing him call her name.  Seeing him out there she is only able to say his name high pitched as if she is about to cry).  Chazz?

Chazz: (As he lands on the back podium of the carriage hanging on tight to catch his breath).  You did not… Think you could just leave like that.

Jennifer: (Sits back down looking away to hide the tears and not wanting a painful goodbye).  Chazz… I do not want to have a goodbye… I really cannot… I cannot face everyone… Because then it makes it harder to leave… Harder to know that the fun times we share will not be there anymore… I cannot do that… But if I do not take the responsibility it will fall on Kairi to do what I am doing now before she is ready… I cannot have that happen… I am sorry….

Chazz: (He thinks about all options and comes up with one that will work as he pulls her head back out as he kisses her on the lips suddenly letting his actions and emotions move forward without his head stopping him for the first time in many years).  Well then do not leave and stay with me at our home with everyone.  You do not need to leave then.  I will not let the fun times that we have daily end this fast… I promise.

Jennifer: (Looks shocked placing her hands on her lips wondering if he really had done what she had felt and liking the feeling it gave her looking into his eyes as the horses pulling the carriage stop unaware, she had told them to.  She looks into Chazz’s eyes getting a feeling that everything will be alright from him).  Chazz… Are you sure I can and…? You kissed me.  (She begins to blush her with head starting to wrap around that idea never thinking it would happen).

Chazz: (He blushes as well).  Yes, you can m… I mean Jennifer… Yes, you can.

Jennifer: (Turns to open the carriage door and hop out to sit next to Chazz on the back ledge of the carriage.  She blushes a lot with her brain still trying to process it all).  But… How can I stay… I mean….  (Looks down not able to finish what she is saying).

Chazz: I will become… Betrothed to you… So that you can stay.  (He looks away from Jennifer from embarrassment as he stammers over his words).

Jennifer: (Looks at Chazz in even more shock barely able to speak let alone process what Chazz has said).  You are… Asking me… To….  (She starts to blush many shades of red).

Chazz: (He shakes his head yes as he looks at Jennifer with a noticeable blush across his face).

Jennifer: (Looks at Chazz for a moment as she blushes more and then looks down).  I… Do not want it to be like this… I do not want you to have to do this for me… I wanted it to be because your heart wanted to… But also, I want you to be happy… And besides… I am not the only heart you hold in your hands… I am sorry… I just do not want you to feel you have to… Or that you are forced to… I do not want it like that.  (She starts to tear up as she continues to look down).

Chazz: (He holds her hand as he picks her face up to look her into the eyes).  I would not come to this decision if I was not sure of this… I want to see you smile more and more each day and laugh alongside everyone else again… One of the people I hold very dearest to my heart… I am sorry but I do love you Jennifer… I just do not want to rush this… Yet at the same time I do not want to lose you right now… So if you can be patient with me still… Will you come home with me… Jennifer?

Jennifer: (Looks into Chazz’s eyes and tears begin to fall as she smiles holding his hand tightly.  She nods wanting to hear he loved her for such a long time).  Yes… I would love to… But if you are not ready for that step… Then I am not counting it… Yes, officially we will be betrothed… But I will wait if your hearts in it and ready for that… But until then I am fine with how things are now… Thank you Chazz, because of you I can stay where I belong… Thank you.  (Hugs Chazz tightly as she kisses his cheek and tears fall not of sadness but of happiness).

Chazz: (He holds Jennifer tightly as he tells the carriage driver to take them back to the mansion).

Jennifer: (As the carriage turns around, she snuggles up to Chazz enjoying his warmth with her head resting on his shoulder).

 

The rest of the trip is quiet yet peaceful as Jennifer enjoys her time with Chazz savoring every moment of it until she sees the mansion coming into view.  She gets a big smile knowing she will not have to leave the ones she holds dear and as they approach, she sees everyone standing in front waiting for them.  Tears of joy come back to her as she waves to them happily.

Kairi: (Has tears of joy as well seeing her sister wanting to run to the carriage and hug her as soon as the carriage can stop).

Kura: (Pets Kairi’s head as she smiles waving with her).

Yami: (Crosses his arms casually while leaning on the wall but anyone who would look could still tell that he is smiling).

Cordelia: (Smiles and waves as well with Hamako by her side).

Rowen: (He comes outside with Orion with Hiki and Tori close behind him).  Well, I see something had happened.

Cordelia: I suppose it has but we will find out soon enough.

Shizen: (Appears beside everyone in the group standing next to Rowen and Orion).  It has but you will find out, it is quite an interesting outcome.

Jennifer: (As the carriage stops, she hops out and walks with Chazz holding his hand tightly).

Kairi: (Tears fall as she runs to her sister giving her a tight hug almost knocking her off her balance).  Please… Do not go.

Jennifer: (Smiles at Kairi holding her just as tightly as she becomes teary eyed as well).  Do not worry, I am not going anywhere… I am sorry Kairi.  I did not mean to leave like that.

Kairi: (As she cries a little in Jennifer’s arms).  It is fine… Just please stay.

Jennifer: I know… I will not go now.  (She pets Kairi’s head as she holds her to calm her down as well as herself).

Chazz: Yes, she will not be going anywhere now.  (As he says this, he sees the sadness in Hiki’s expression).  Hiki….  (Hiki runs away when he tries to reach for her).

Jennifer: (Notices Hiki run away and looks at Kairi to make sure she is alright kissing her head before standing straight wanting to go after Hiki getting an idea of how she must feel nodding to Chazz as if saying she will talk to her).

Cordelia: (Stops both Chazz and Jennifer).  Both of you before you go, I must ask of the way Jennifer will be able to stay.  I have an idea of what and Rowen has helped me with preparing that specific paperwork.

Jennifer: (Looks away with a blush becoming embarrassed).  I… Umm… We….

Chazz: Madam Cordelia… I have become betrothed to Lady Jennifer….

Kairi: (Looks completely taken by surprised not expecting that to happen at all from all her attempts to see them together).  Y-your engaged?

Jennifer: (Blushes more heavily).  I-I umm yes… We are.

Kura: Congratulations to both of you!  (She smiles at both Jennifer and Chazz then looks where Hiki was standing with a frown now understanding).

Yami: (Shrugs not really understanding the big deal about this).

Cordelia: I thought so, very well then if that is what your choice is then I cannot stop you from staying here.  The family will just have to deal with this but also if you are going to be betrothed you will need to sign a few things and receive rings to wear.  Chazz there will be a time where you will no longer be a butler of this household being Jennifer’s betrothed but there is time to work out those details.  Does that sound fair?

Jennifer: (Is unable to speak as she blushes heavily yet nods understandingly).

Chazz; (Has to pause in his words having his own embarrassment as well).  Yes… I am aware… It will be hard to change my usual habits….

Cordelia: It is fine, not too much will change now.  Once the news is more public and we have guests you will be taught how a noble would address another.  You will never be in any line of power just a adviser to Jennifer which come to think of it is not far from different since you already are by her side now but as her butler.

Jennifer: (Laughs a little while looking at Chazz but still blushes heavily).  At least you can give me advice at meetings and not have rude looks towards you anymore.

Rowen: It really will not feel much of a difference to you since it seems you do that already

Cordelia: Yes, and Rowen has the same… Actually, he has more authority in a way still being head butler with some other things giving this family a respect for his say.

Jennifer: (Gives a relieved smile).  I see… I am just happy that not much will change then… Thank you.

Cordelia: Yes, oh and before I forget since I assume Chazz does not have a ring, I do have some that will work for right now until he can provide one. (She looks through a little bag she has brought with her handing a gold ring with a small diamond pressed into the thin band to Jennifer and the wider bigger ring being polished silver to Chazz to put on).

Jennifer: (Blushes many shades of red as she takes the ring looking at it on her hand to try and process this better).

Chazz: (He puts the ring as his hand and holds Jennifer’s hand).  Yes… Just something may need to be cleared up.  (As he sees Tori go after Hiki who had already ran inside).

Cordelia: Very well but only one of you for now need to sign part of the papers.  You can go when you are done, and I will call for the other later today.

Jennifer: (Looks at Chazz nodding being concerned for Hiki as well).  Let me talk to her….

Chazz: (He shakes his head yes as walks towards Cordelia).

Cordelia: (Begins to walk back to her study with Chazz and Rowen).

Jennifer: (Pets Kairi’s head giving her a reassuring smile before she takes different hall looking for Hiki.  She then stops seeing Chazz’s room up ahead with Tori by the door trying to get in looking upset as she gives a concerned look).  Tori… Is she in there…? Is she alright?

Tori: She’s in there.  (He sighs).  And there wasn’t much I could do, and it wasn’t a pretty sight.

Jennifer: (Looks down).  I see… Let me try and talk to her… Just give us a minute.

Tori: (He opens the door for Jennifer to go inside, as she walks in, she sees Hiki covered by blankets as she holds a pillow for her cry into).

Jennifer: (Walks up to the bed looking at Hiki with concern not wanting her to be filled with so much sadness).  … Hiki?

Hiki: (Looks at Jennifer for a quick second than back to the pillow her words snapping at Jennifer slightly).  What!

Jennifer: (Looks down).  … I am sorry if you are mad at me… but if we do not… Then I go away… I am sorry if it is selfish… But it is the only way….  (She starts to get teary eyed from seeing Hiki like this never wanting to cause this for her).  I am so sorry….  (She looks away and sits on the floor leaning on the bed while looking down still).

Hiki: (She looks at Jennifer again from under the blankets and sits up on the bed).  I know… I know so it was for you to stay… But when I thought about… My heart was just aching.

Jennifer: I know… Truth is I did not accept it at first… And I still do not count it to say the truth because it feels like he is forced into it still… I hope I am not doing that to him… I just want things to stay the way they are now… And this way they can… Yes, in public and with noble visitors they will be a little different… But other than that, I think nothing will change and we will be back to how things were before… Besides I think he would do the same for you.  (She smiles a little as she turns to look back to Hiki).

Hiki: I know he would… Yet my heart was aching so much that I don’t know how to deal with it… I don’t think I can look at him the same after this.

Jennifer: But I think you can… He is still the same person you love with all your heart… And you can cling to him all you like because… You still have a chance… Maybe it is just a denial of what just happened still… But I can tell he cares for you dearly as well… And truthfully, I always rooted for you… You’re my best friend after all.  (She turns so she is facing Hiki and gets up a little so she can see better sitting on the bed instead of the ground).

Hiki: (She looks at Jennifer as she lays her head on her shoulder).  True I am… And I still would love him anyways… Nothing would change that… But now I feel like I should root for you as well not just me.

Jennifer: I just want you and Chazz to be happy… I do not like seeing you like this… Besides you have a smile that makes everyone else just want to smile along with you and Kairi has that as well… A sad face does not suit you but also do not fake your smile… Because you have everyone here that will support and care for you and especially Chazz… So do not let your heart break when you have so many people that care for you.  (She smiles at Hiki giving her a comforting hug).

Hiki: (She holds Jennifer tight).  I know… It’s just right now all the sad emotions just built up and just overflowed… I’m sorry but yeah, I feel better now, and I want you to still fight for his heart not just give up so easily.

Jennifer: (Pets Hiki’s head and laughs a little).  Well, I am not really that good when it comes to that.  Your much better but either way I am happy as long as I see everyone smile and stay together… That is all I want… But if you need to cry, I will be right here to cry to and hug until that smile comes back.

Hiki: (She gets away from the hug as she smiles at Jennifer with still some tears in her eyes).  And that’s all I want as well, nothing more nothing less… I just want everyone to be there.

Jennifer: (Smiles back at Hiki).  Then let’s focus on that and if you want to, we can go find Chazz and you can give him a big hug and maybe even a kiss to make it even.  (She blushes after saying the last part not sure of why she had said it).

Hiki: (She giggles a little bit).  Maybe I could… But I think I will save that for another time since right now… I want to be glad that you get to be here… With everyone.

Jennifer: (Looks down a little).  I am too… When I was told I had to leave… I just… It felt like I would be losing so much that I care so deeply for… And that I would be alone… I am glad that does not have to happen, and I plan to make the most of it.  (She goes back to her smile as she gets a little teary eyed as well out of happiness).

Hiki: (She giggles a little bit).  Well, we will keep everything the same and I hope you’re alright with me hogging master whenever I can… But then again maybe just share him… Nah it’s more fun this way.

Jennifer: (Giggles as well but blushes heavily).  It is fine, I understand… I think I owe it to you since he kissed me. (She blushes even more when she thinks of it).  But I also will admit that maybe cuddling with him like you do would be nice… I think he cares about us both dearly… Even if I were in his shoes and had to decide between both of us, I don’t think I could choose… I could not break another’s heart…. (She looks down a little).

Hiki: Well, you didn’t today so why do you feel like you did, and I’m alright with that arrangement than since we have to be even here.

Jennifer: I am not sure but yes, I think so as well but for now how about we walk around a little and chat before it is time for bed?  (She stands up getting ready to leave while smiling sincerely at Hiki).

Hiki: (She gets up as she tries gets her hair straighten again).  Alright sounds like a plan, now if only my hair will listen to me to make things easier.

Jennifer: I remember giving you that silver brush, is it in here you could use that.  (As she tries to help Hiki untangle her hair a little).

Hiki: (She tries to think for a second) oh yea it’s in that drawer next to the door.

Jennifer: Oh, alright one second.  (She goes over to the drawer Hiki mentioned opening and finding it quick going back to Hiki to help with her hair more.  It takes a few moments to get her hair fully untangled, but her hair seems to flow effortlessly with its parted 2 colors).  There, much better although your hair has always been pretty. I like how it is half white and half black, it makes you look unique, and it suits you.

Hiki: (Upon hearing Jennifer say this she looks down with a small giggle).  True it is kind of cool and it feels very soft… But it isn’t as nice you may think….

Jennifer: (Gives a confused look).  What do you mean?  I mean everyone here seems to like it, especially Kairi and I guess it makes sense you being a part of balance and I suppose it is why Tori has white hair since he’s the other half.

Hiki: well… When I was a kid… You know how at the time dark spirits didn’t look so good to light spirits since with the whole incident with Izumi starting.

Jennifer: (Thinks back to when she heard the stories from the others).  Yes, I have heard it before and Shizen says that is still true.  Being opposites, they tend to not get along well.

Hiki: Well… At the time everyone in our town thought that I was corrupted or got to close to a dark spirit since my hair was two different colors.  (She says this while holding a lock of hair in her hands).

Jennifer: I see… But they should have gotten to know you because I bet you shine just as bright just by being your kind and caring self… Besides didn’t Shizen mention Shiro telling others you could be balance back then?

Hiki: They did… They tried but it wasn’t that easy… People avoided me… They didn’t want me to attack them or something like that… Even my mother didn’t believe them.

Jennifer: (Looks shocked but then looks down with Hiki).  Your own mom… That is not right.  She sounds like she was not very nice to you then.

Hiki: (She tears up and it is clear in her voice).  She was for a short time like every other mom… But then one day she kept her distance from me….

Jennifer: (Suddenly gives Hiki a hug feeling like she needs to at the moment).  Hiki… I am sorry… It is not right.  I mean your such an amazing person that I cannot imagine… But right here with this group just know that you are accepted… Even if you have a little darkness in you being light balance it does not matter.  I mean there are many dark spirits here and you get along with them well, so I don’t see how that is such a bad thing.

Hiki: I know I am… But to have your own mother say she would kill you if I showed any sign of being corrupt… It just messed with my head too much that I didn’t really leave home after that.

Jennifer: (Holds Hiki tighter hearing this).  No… I do not care who she is, that is not right… Her own daughter… If she said that to you then it sounds like she did not deserve such a wonderful person for a daughter… Maybe if she had gotten to know you, she would see what everyone else here sees in you.

Hiki: (She holds Jenny’s hands tightly as she is hugging her).  Maybe… But still, she is my mom.  I guess she had to put her job priorities ahead of me since she was the lead guardian and everything.

Jennifer: (Gets a little teary eyed with Hiki).  It is still no way to treat your own daughter, especially if you were just a child… I mean I guess some noble families are like that.  I mean the elders of this family and my own father wanted me to marry a suitor with higher rank and money just to maybe have more power and riches.  It is not exactly the same at least your mom is supposed to protect you more than anyone else in the world… You are not corrupt, not at all.  She just did not realize that I guess.

Hiki: (She gets tearier eyed as well as it shows in her voice becoming shaky).  I know… Yet all I could do was accept my fate.  I used to think that I actually was corrupt, and I didn’t know how to handle that… But Shiro and then master and as scared as I was to be told that again… All he did was hold out his hand and say hello to me with a smile….

Jennifer: (gets a small smile towards Hiki).  He really has done so much by just being himself… And with how things are now everyone was given a group that cares for one another when they needed it most… It is like the people who were not accepted found each other and I guess made this odd little family… And formed strong bonds that way… I have enjoyed all these adventures and look forward to all of the ones yet to come.

Hiki: He has hasn’t he… Maybe that’s why I fell for him… And that is true.

Jennifer: I guess so… I have an idea.  Every year there is this festival that comes into the town near here right before Kairi’s birthday for 2 days.  Why don’t we all go and have fun then, no more tears.  (She has a big smile she looks at Hiki to lighten the mood a bit more).

Hiki: (She cannot help but giggle a little bit as she smiles back).  Yes, that does sound very nice indeed.  I wouldn’t mind going to do that at all.

Jennifer: Of course!  We can ask everyone to go as long as no one uses their powers but let’s take a walk in the halls for a little bit before bed.  I feel like we could use that.  I need to find Kairi anyways; I did not mean to put her through that, so I want to make it up to her.  (She goes to the door opening it for Hiki as well).

Hiki: (She gets up as she still looks down but then looks up again with a big bright smile).

Jennifer: There is that smile, now let’s get going.  Maybe we get a snack or something… Oh and Hiki… Thank you for opening up to me… It means a lot.  (She smiles kindly back at Hiki).

Hiki: Yes… Well, the only people that know about this would be master and Tori… I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner.

Jennifer: It is alright, it is a hard thing to talk about.  I understand so it takes time.  I think Kura and Yami have struggled to, but I can tell they are slowly opening up as well.  It sounds like they have struggled the most.  At least they have been reunited though, I think that is what helped the most… But it will take a lot of time… And even then, the past still leaves scars… Do you think they will be alright?  I heard Yami had a break down earlier?

Hiki: Yes… I know because master, Tori, and I promised him that no matter what we will go to him… Even if knocked down over again… We won’t let him be alone again.

Jennifer: And so, will everyone else here.  We will do everything we can… He has never really talked about what happened when he was alone in the street… It must have been very difficult seeing from all those scars he has and he is so young still too.  (She looks down a little at the thought).

Hiki: It wasn’t easy at first but… Master made it easy to want to make sure everything is going to be alright

Jennifer: Well, that is good to hear.  I hope he will be alright then though he is strong willed, so I think he has enough fight in him to handle it.  (She continues to walk in the halls with Hiki trying to lighten the topic again to random things as well as the fair she would like all of them to go to).

 

Shizen is seen coming out of Jennifer’s room in a fitting green dress being in an elegant style though a little low cut because of her chest size and strapless but with a sheer cover covering her arms.  The skirt is in a straight down fashion covering her legs in a deep green silk fabric.  Her makeup is done with red lipstick and eyeliner making the green in her eyes pop more as well as emerald earrings with her grey hair being done straight down pushed away to flow down her back, much less wild then her day-to-day style.

Hiki: (She looks at Shizen surprised of how she is dressed in such a fancy way).  Going somewhere Shizen- oh yeah you have a date with Rowen.  I can see your pulling out of the stops.

Jennifer: (Looks surprised as well).  Wow you look great, but I am still surprised you asked him.

Shizen: Yes, when I was sealed away for you had I asked that when we met again if we could have drinks.  What do you think, do you think this is a little too much?  (She motions to her outfit and overall appearance)?

Hiki: (Looks at Shizen’s entire outfit again).  Hmm if you’re trying to impress him than I think your fine but if it’s just a friendly thing than maybe tone it done a little with a dress.

Shizen: (Thinks for a moment look at her down at her dress).  Hmm I see… I didn’t realize that although I cannot help the top part much in anything really… Makes it quite hard to find things that fit.

Jennifer: (Looks down at herself and sighs a little shaking it off and then giving a questioning look).  Shizen I wanted to know, why did you ask Rowen?

Shizen: (Thinks for another moment and then answers bluntly).  Hmm… I am not sure, but I guess the simplest answer is that I was attracted to him.

Hiki: I think it might know what she’s doing without our advice since Shizen should know how to have a good time with someone she likes right?

Shizen: (Laughs with a grin).  Well, I guess I can be a little difficult to handle but you should have seen me in my younger years.  I was much wilder and rebellious back then.

Jennifer: Wow but didn’t you say you had done major damage to your main city in the spirit world.  What is more rebellious than that.

Shizen: (Thinks back on the past).  Hmm when the first generation had their full strength before any of the other generations existed, I fought with Orion, and we ended up sinking a whole continent…. Well, honestly it was my fault, but I won’t admit that to him.  (She laughs a little).

Jennifer: (Gets a look of shock).  A-a whole continent?

Shizen: Well, most of it anyways, it was fixed though so no need to worry.

Hiki: (She falls silent after hearing about this).  … I’m not sure I want to know more about that.

Jennifer: (Falls silent for a moment as well).  I do not think I want too either.

Shizen: Well, that is probably best, but we can still destroy a mountain with the power we were left.  I will get going, you kids be good.  (She starts to walk past as she waves).

Jennifer: (Waves back).  Umm alright… Good luck on your date.

Hiki: (She waves goodbye as well as Shizen is leaving).  Well, that was interesting in a way.

Jennifer: I guess so… Do you really think they will start going out though…? My brain is still trying to process that idea.

Hiki: I’m not sure either but knowing Rowen they might complement each other perfectly with their opposite habits.

Jennifer: (Gives a confused look).  What do you mean by that?

Hiki: We shall see but come on!  We still need to go on that walk, you promised to remember!

Jennifer: Oh right, maybe we could go out into the forest and visit the wolf pack.  Most of the pack may be getting ready to hunt at this time so it would be only a few there including the pups.  (She starts walking with Hiki with a big smile).

Hiki: (She grabs Jennifer’s hand and starts to drag her outside as she is excited now).  Ohh puppies!  I always love to see them!  They are so cute, let’s go, let’s go Jenny!

 

The day starts to come to a close Chazz being done with the paperwork he had to sign leaving Cordelia’s study.  Cordelia leaves as well to her own room letting Rowen have the rest of the night off not needing a escort.  She says farewell to Rowen and Orion as she goes to tuck Hamako in who sleeps in her arms.  As everyone had said farewells Rowen starts to walk down the halls with Orion on his way to have drinks with Shizen like he had promised.

Rowen: (He sighs a little bit).  I feel like this evening was quite eventful.

Orion: (He laughs as he taps Rowen back).  Yes, it has been with Jennifer getting engaged to Chazz.  Then there was the thing with Kairi, Yami and Kura.  I missed seeing that bright little bunny girl.  Seeing Shizen again too, you never get break now do you?

Rowen: I would prefer if you had the proper respect to the royal family but yes it seems like I never do.

Orion: Well don’t think you’ll get one now since you’re going on a date with Shizen.  Good luck Rowen, don’t lose yourself in fun.  (He starts to leave Rowen as he goes outside)

Rowen: (He sighs).  Honestly, he does whatever he wants.  Feels like another version of Shizen at time.  Oh well let’s go get a drink now. 

 

Rowen continues to go through the hall it being quiet as he heads to the bar area usually used for parties and events.  He sees only one person there being Shizen who sits on one of the chairs at the bar pouring herself a drink.  She brought along green scarf draped over the back of the chair and in the green elegant yet a little fitting dress described before.  The emerald earrings make her green eyes stand out more and hair is neatly done in a loose pulled back fashion besides a few loose strands.  She looks in a small mirror on the bars wall to see if she looks alright one more time when Rowen enters the area.  The bar area in the mansion is not really used until event days which is not this night.

Rowen: (Comes into the bar with his normal uniform that he works in with the black butler uniform with a brown tie.  Looking around for Shizen but notices her almost immediately).

Shizen: (Notices Rowen as well the area being quite empty being evening when things start to wind down for the day.  She smiles to him having another drink in her other hand offering to him).  You’re a little early, I’m glad you could make it.

Rowan: Well, it would be rude if I declined now wouldn’t it but very interesting dress choice you have.

Shizen: Well, I wanted to be a little more formal since you always seem to be formal as well, but I do wonder if you have a side of you that can let loose and relax a little.  I was hoping to find that out tonight.

Rowen: (Chuckles).  True I do but I have not been that relaxed in a good while.  Right now, since my duties for today are over so I can for a little bit.

Shizen: Well, I look forward to it then, though pardon if I was a little forward asking you for drinks like this.  It’s been quite a while since I asked someone like this, about quite a few centuries I would say.  (She laughs and smiles inviting for Rowen to sit next to her).

Rowen: (Laughs as well as he sits down).  It is alright, I have not had a drink like this for a while as well.  I think I will not be drinking too much tonight however since I must get up early for the next sparring session.

Shizen: Ahh yes well, I didn’t mean drinking really.  That I can do often if offered but it doesn’t have as big effect.  Alcohol is like a poison, so it does not affect me as much, but I did this a means ask someone out with me like this.  I don’t know why but I found you intriguing so I thought why not ask you out and get to know you.

Rowen: Ahh if we are doing this than I don’t mind spending some time with you Shizen.

Shizen: Well, that’s great to hear and perhaps this should be a normal thing since I enjoy your company as well.

Rowen: Hmm I shall think about it then.

Shizen: Yes, and besides how else will I get to know you more though at first meeting I must admit I did find you a bit attractive.  I am not sure; it was something about you that interests me.

Rowen: Oh, did you now?  Well, I have heard before I am pretty charming, so I thank you.

Shizen: I would guess so and you seem to age well too.  Sure, the grey hair makes it clear we are not young but it also shows we have gone through more and have some more experience as well so I have grown to like it.  (She plays with a strand of her hair as she smiles at Rowen).

Rowen: Well, I would be more than happy to spend some quality time with you then Shizen.  We shall see how many things we can share with each other if we decide to continue this.  I look forward to it.

Shizen: As I will look forward to it as well, and I think we will get along just fine.  (She finishes her drink placing it on the counter).  Would you like another drink or shall we save it for another day.  I do believe the night is still young.  (She grabs another drink for herself as she says this looking at Rowen to see if he wants one as well).

Rowen: I could take another drink, why not.  (He smiles at Shizen).

Shizen: Very well hmm.  (She looks at a nearly empty bottle and two shot glasses).  Well, why not, what do you think?  (She holds the bottle up for Rowen to see with the glasses and a smile).

Rowen: (Sighs).  Sure, why not, I do not mind at least to finish the bottle.

Shizen: Great, it makes things a little more interesting.  (She pours both their drinks holding hers as she laughs a little offering the other glass to Rowen).

Rowen: (He takes the glass as he looks around the bar area).  Want to know what is funny?

Shizen: (Looks at Rowen with an expression of interest and curiosity).  What’s funny?

Rowen: For as long as I have been with this family and happy with what my duties are.  I never really stepped foot into this area for my own time since I was always too focused on my work.

Shizen: Well at times it is good to relax.  Yes, when in charge of my nature territory and my element of spirits it can be a job that takes a lot of work, but I have learned that in order to do your best at your responsibilities there needs to be a time to relax and let loose.  It is good to know the appropriate times to take it easy and when to take things more seriously.  It is a balance really though some say I do goof off a little too much at times.  (She laughs).  So, if you need someone to teach you how to let loose and get your work done as well I do quite well at it… Most of the time.

Rowen: True it is nice to relax sometimes but I cannot do that all the time since this family will always need me.  However, at the same time I enjoy what I do so even when I am running around, I feel at ease knowing that they depend on me.  I can still smile as when I was a little kid just by seeing their smiles as well… I am always relaxed with them.

Shizen: I can understand that well, and I can see you enjoy your job even with such interesting little ones here now… They are quite impressive, and I feel they will do many good deeds in their lives though I apologies if they meet more danger… But I feel they will I am sorry… I know they have the strength to face it.  (She looks down for a moment).  Because I know harder times will be coming soon… But for now, we should enjoy this calm before the storm of fire comes… I’m sorry for dragging them into such a difficult situation… But they will help set the balance that has been long needed.

Rowen: (He sighs as he looks out into the hallway where the last of the maids are finishing their duties for the night).  True as much as I do not like them being in danger… I cannot help but know that things will be alright because of who they are and how they have grown.  For example, Chazz when I first was starting to teach him, he kept trying to be like me and fulfill the butler role without losing sight of his job.  Now I see that he has become someone he can only become.  He sees his own path before him but does everything he can to make sure they are by his side… That is who he is now.

Shizen: Yes, they have grown… But they still have some growing to do still.  Well really, we all do, oh and one thing that has been puzzling me.  If Orion is your spirit was, he somewhere else before he became contracted to you?  He had left a little after the world was becoming unbalanced, so are you one of the ones Nagi and Shiro gave a long spirit like life to before they passed?  It would be quite a secret to hide in a world like this.

Rowen: Hmm well maybe that would be a mystery that you will have to find out Mis Shizen.

Shizen: Hmm we will see if you age in the next 10 years and that will prove my theory.  (She laughs a little as she drinks her shot of alcohol poring another and bringing it towards Rowen to cheers).

Rowen: (He begins to chuckle as well).  True, true it would but I shall leave that story for another day.

Shizen: Very well, I will look forward to hearing it as we learn more about each other though I think I am an open book really if I say so.  There is not much that people do not know about me.  (She looks down realizing what she says is not completely true, but she leaves that for another night bring back her smile).

Rowen: Well to getting to know even more about you would be just delighting.  (He smiles as he takes his shot).

Shizen: Well, thank you and I hope that you like learning about me though most say I can be a little wild and rebellious especially in my younger days.  I also make it clear if I do not approve a decision especially if it involves innocent lives that can be saved.  I think once… Maybe more I created a tree monster to the counsel to make my opinion known… Not the most subtle way of handling things but I was angry.  (She smiles as she takes another shot offering the bottle to Rowen if he wants another).

Rowen: (Accepts another drink with a nod).  Well remind me not to get you angry then and true you stand for what you believe in.  No one should be able to blame you for that.

Shizen: Why thank you for agreeing with me and you must have a high tolerance to alcohol.  It seems 1 glass of wine and 3 shots and you still seem clear headed, I’m impressed.  (She laughs more as she pours another shot for herself).

Rowen: Well, I must be from all the royal events I have had to attend with the family.  Sometimes the maids there would continue giving me drinks to have after the party was over.  It is always a good time.

Shizen: I see well it sounds fun but sorry if we end up in a drinking competition one day though I have a better chance of winning.  Unless I am up against a pure poison element user since it will not affect them very much if not at all… Believe me I challenged one and it is pretty amazing.  100 drinks and they still were pretty clear headed and believe me it takes a lot for me to even get tipsy though this bottle is not bad, very good quality.  (She laughs again looking at the bottle she holds).

Rowen: Oh, I highly doubt that I will get into that type of competition with you since I do not wish to drink that much but I will certainly watch.

Shizen: Well, whoever goes against me I will feel sorry for them but why not take a walk around the mansion for a little bit before we call it a night.  I think I have had enough drinks for now.   I can walk you to your room if you would like if you are getting tired.

Rowen: Alright but I thought it was the other way around.

Shizen: Well, I have the child’s room to go back to is all and I usually take a walk in the forest before then, so I don’t mind escorting you.  If that is too informal for your taste that is fine.

Rowen: Alright if you so wish though I thought I was escorting you back to your room you can most likely handle yourself now, can’t you?

Shizen: (Laughs with a grin).  I suppose I can, or else I wouldn’t have lasted this long I would think.  Unless one day you would like to test my abilities to see for yourself.  (She gives a small smirk).

Rowen: No, no I would prefer to avoid that really but thank you for the proposition.

Shizen: Very well that is probably for the best.  We do not want to go overboard but let’s get going, shall we?  (She starts to get up at the same time as Rowen their faces inches apart from each other because of this.  She pauses for a moment as she looks at him).

Rowen: (Just stares at Shizen as he is not sure what to do).

Shizen: (Inches her face closer to Rowen’s instinctively looking into his eyes though she is not sure if she should move forward more with a slight blush).

Rowen: (Is lost in her eyes but a hint of uncertainty and sadness is seen).

Shizen: (Is lost as well as she places a hand on his chest over his heart).  I see it… We share a similar sadness of losing the one we hold most dear… I guess that is another thing we both have in common.

Rowen: In a way we have, haven’t we?

Shizen: I think so… Perhaps that is why I invited you as well… But also, there’s something about you… And I can’t quite explain it.  (She continues to look in his eye not moving away from him).

Rowen: Well, I could say the same thing about you now couldn’t I but right now in this moment I feel better than I have in a good while.

Shizen: As do I and perhaps we can explore these feelings as we continue to see each other… Who knows perhaps this will grow to something bigger than we could imagine…? But I don’t believe things like that are in our control.

Rowen: True they always are not when it comes to feelings but when they do happen, we just embrace the feelings.

Shizen: I must agree so forgive me if I am a bit forward… Oh what the hell why not.  (After saying this she meets her lips with Rowen’s since they are so close to doing so).

Rowen: (Pushes Shizen’s lips off him not being ready as well as being to sudden and soon for him).  Whoa, whoa there Mis Shizen… I am not alright with that forwardness right now….

Shizen: (Instantly backs up stumbling a little but not much as she blushes looking away).  Your right I umm, my apologizes… I was in the moment, and I was out of line… Umm I should get going… I’m sorry if I offended or upset you… I guess I should go then.  (She begins to walk out).

Rowen: (He sighs as gets up as well and hugs Shizen).  No, no… It was not that I did not enjoy it… It is just today is the day my wife passed away many years ago and right now my feelings are over the place… So, if you can still stay by my side until I can kiss you again… I would be happy to have a drink again….

Shizen: I see, my apologies for not asking you if it was alright and I am sure she was a great woman if she was married to you… Take all the time you need.  I will be here to have a drink and talk with any time you need.  (She hugs Rowen back comfortingly).

Rowen: (He kisses her cheek).  I am hoping that will be enough for now… And you are a great woman as well Shizen… I will be glad to say I hold you dear one day… Do not ever doubt that.

Shizen: (Smiles but Rowen can tell there is a very faint blush).  Why thank you for thinking so much of the crazy, forward, old woman I am, and I will hope to hold you dear as well.  I will wait however long it takes… But for now, I better go back and wait for another time to walk you back to your room.

Rowen: No, no you will not have to wait long Shizen… Now come on let’s talk some more in my room since I am heavily enjoying the talks we are having.

Shizen: (She gets a small smile being relieved).  Very well if you wish to and I am enjoying my time with you as well though I would not think you would be so improper to invite a woman to your room.  And I’m the forward one here?  (She laughs at her own joke as they start to walk together).

Rowen: Oh, come on….  (He holds her hand to lead her too his room).

Shizen: (Laughs more as she follows Rowen).  Very well I’m coming, and I was only teasing you, though I am curious to what your room looks like.

Rowen: Well, you will find out now won’t you?  (He chuckles as he continues walking with Shizen).

Shizen: I suppose I will.  (She laughs looking at Rowen’s hand holding hers then back at him as they walk smiling happily as they walk down the hall.  They make it to a room a little further down the hall to a wooden door and she looks at the door and Rowen with interest).

Rowen: Well, here we are, ready to head inside Shizen? (He smiles warmly at Shizen).

Shizen: (Smiles back at Rowen in the same way).  Of course, I am curious to see where you stay.

Rowen: Then we shall head inside… Welcome to my room.

Shizen: Why thank you.  (She walks into a room with tan painted walls and bedding.  The furniture is skillfully made from different kinds of stone and polished.  Some vases made from stone as well hold plants in them.  Chairs and a couch having very plush cushions on them to counter the hard stone to make them soft as she looks around the room then back at Rowen).  I have to say it is quite a big room, and a king size bed, a good-sized bathroom so I guess you do well for yourself then.  I like the stone furniture, you made them with your power, didn’t you?

Rowen: Well with some help from Orion but yes it makes things easier for the family if I make the stone furniture.  It does seem kind of big now, doesn’t it?  I guess I just got used to it on my own.

Shizen: Well, I think it’s a nice room, it suits your style and says a lot about you I would think.  I am glad to have the honor of being shown around your room.  It’s so neat and clean, though I should expect that from how well you dress.  (She laughs as she looks at Rowen with a smile as well as taking in all her surroundings).

Rowen: Well, I must do my best to keep up appearance and I appreciate the compliments.

Shizen: Yes well, the compliments are true statements though it is getting a little dark, ahh let me help with that.  (She goes over to a plant and makes the plants in their pots and vases grow a bit more.  They start to produce spores into the air that glow providing light though being a little dim still).  Hmm a little dim still but a little too romantic of an atmosphere, I think.  My apologies but at least it is easier to see you.  (She smiles sincerely at Rowen).

Rowen: I think even if you had not done that, I could still find you Shizen but thank you anyways.  It kind of does give off that kind of atmosphere now doesn’t it?  (He goes to sit on his couch as he makes up three small stones on his hand).

Shizen: (Goes to sit with Rowen looking at the stones and then him).  Well, it does but I quite like it.  I am enjoying my time with you, but do you have anything in particular you would like to do or talk about?  Since you are the one who invited me here, I am open to whatever you have in mind though sitting with you like this, it’s nice… Quite calming indeed.  (She rests her head on his shoulder looking at the stones in his hand).

Rowen: (Makes the stones float into the air above them).  Just look at this, what makes it how interesting these stones are….  (As he says that the stones start to light up into different colors and start to float around like little stars).

Shizen: (Looks at the different colors around them with a curious smile).  Quite beautiful….  (She then looks at Rowen).  But even with all these pretty lights I find myself gazing at you… I’m not sure why but perhaps it’s the atmosphere we created and connection that I hope will form.

Rowen: I guess so but even though all that has and will happen all I want to do is still be by your side even if I am not quite ready yet and just watch with you.

Shizen: I must agree, it’s funny how we want to see the same from each other.  Thank you for tonight, I hope that this lasts quite some time.  (She kisses Rowen’s cheek quickly then remembers pulling away a little).  Oh, umm my apologies, I know you are not ready for that type of thing.  I just felt like it was needed in the moment.  (Rowen can tell there is a slight blush on her cheeks now).

Rowen: (Kisses Shizen cheek as well).  Maybe but I must consider your own feelings as well so I’m hoping for now this will suffice.

Shizen: (Smiles with relief at Rowen).  Of course, true I am not known for my patients but when it most counts I am.  Besides I feel you will be worth the wait even if it takes many centuries or more but if I am being to forward at times my apologies.  I tend to be very blunt.

Rowen: (Takes Shizen’s hand as he holds it tight).  And I am sorry to make you wait but I will do everything I can to make sure it is worth it.

Shizen: (Holds Rowen’s hand back as she leans on him).  I have no problem with waiting, just so long as you are willing to put up with me.  I can be a little hard to handle at times but then again nature is always wild and untamed.  (She laughs a little).

Rowen: I would be more than happy that to put up with all your antics.

Shizen: I would hope so but for now I would like to stay here a little longer… It’s quite nice.  (She rests her head on Rowen’s shoulder as she looks up at the glowing specks of stones in the room).
